I love how honest you are in your video. Just got my 2022 2.7l LT and I can use all the advice I can get since ima be driving from Seattle to NC
We are so happy that your Truck is now performing better than ever.
Love you, Daddy! Y’all are awesome! 👏
I think this is your best video so far Jerem , hope the Silverado doesn't give you any more trouble, keep the videos coming!
This engine is not for towing garbage
I appreciate that! Thank you! I’m still learning this whole TH-cam thing. It’s a lot of fun though! Thanks for watching.
It does great towing. I know not what you speak of? Maybe I misunderstood.
Glad you got it back! I still believe in this motor.
Thank you! I do too! I love it.
Yeah the fuel injector failing is more a GM issue or an injector supplier issue rather than a 2.7 specific issue.
@@JimBronson yes, they are magnetically actuated, as I understand it. More opportunities for failure
That's great, MPG!
Back in the saddle again.
🙌
Welcome home Silva!
I’m so glad that she is home! Thanks for watching my friend!
Great video! A fresh set of injectors can do wonders!
Made a huge huge difference! At least now I know how this truck feels when it is missing. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I had the same issue with my 2021 Silverado that had a 5.3.
Ugh, thanks for sharing. Those are not hard fixes but I hope it's not indicative of a larger issue with injectors.
Good to hear all is well now. Cheers
P.S. Was OnStar any help? They have been awesome with us. They have told us what's wrong going down the highway and directed us to the closest dealer. They contacted the dealer for us. All we had to do was follow the directions in the DIC. I love my Chevy truck and OnStar.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I'll be honest, I didn't even think about OnStar. I don't subscribe to it and just didn't think about it. Great reminder.
I would guess all original injectors supplied for the 2.7L Turbo may be suspect, especially since you noticed much better fuel mileage, which may indicate the original injectors weren’t working as intended from the beginning.
Yes, I agree. The truck is still running great with the new injectors.
Anyone have a problem when trying to excellerate from a stopped position? Mine jumps out of gear into low. Happened twice when trying to gain speed pulling out onto traffic.
I got 32.5 out of mine on a road trip to Indiana from Florida
Wow, that's pretty amazing!
Is that the same trip that the queen invited you for tea. Let's hear things that never happened for 1000.
I bought a Ridgeline last summer.. good highway cruiser.. not hauling that much but desire to have a bed .. if you know what I mean. Already I drove it to Canada, Virginia Beach, PA, WV, Ocean City several times ...I'll tell you if I have any problems.
Thanks! The Ridgeline is very nice! I don’t think they have been known for many, if any problems. I know they have regular wear and tear parts, but whose vehicle doesn’t? Thanks for watching friend!
@@jeremsgarage I know the 3.5 engine well as I drove a Acura MDX for nearly 400,000 miles before I sold it to a family member.. and its still running.
@@jimmywalters3071 good to know! My sons and I have been talking about bringing on a Honda civic project to the channel. I love Honda Motorcycles but I’ve not had any personal experience with the cars.

Thank you!
Hey, i had an update on my 23 2.7 with 4,400 miles to share with you. Got a check engine light on last weekend for code p171d which is a auto start stop transmission accumulator code and/or a clutch failure code. When it goes into start stop mode, the truck lunges hard when it starts back up. Dealer says they will call me in 4 to 6 weeks when their transmission guy can look at it.
Thank you for the update. That seems really bad. Are you able to drive the truck still by turning off the auto start/stop feature?
@jeremsgarage I am able to turn off auto start stop to keep it from happening. The dealer said to go ahead and drive it. What's bad is I am a mechanic that works at a transmission shop, but we don't build anything over 6 speeds yet, and that's what that warranty is for.. lol. Also, do you hear a whinning/ gear meshing noisecoming from the middle of the dash? From research and tsb's, it looks like it's gearlash in the balanceshaft assembly of the engine causing the noise, but I don't remember my 19 making that noise.m
@@calebferguson3930 I don't hear a noise like that from the middle of the dash on mine. But thanks for he heads up on it. I'll keep an ear out for it. Hopefully, they can get it straightened out for you soon. What a bother at such low miles.
When an injector is getting bad you will get the, Tick Tick Tick lifter sound. So far mines still quiet. Easy fix though. The 2.7 is a very reliable engine. Despite those that say other wise or don't believe the mileage some have with no issues lol!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Yep, this one came on so suddenly. But I agree. It’s a very reliable engine and there are already a lot of people with 100-200k miles on them. I’m excited to see if they last 300-400k. That would be cool.
I guess it’s a toss up between the ford and gm my dad has the 2.7 Ford and he’s had transmission issues
Thanks for watching! That F-150 would have the 10 speed, right?
Mine was a crazy horse. Good engine the ford 2.7 but the powershift wasn't great at all.
I'm on the Expedition forums since I have one, and there's been a lot of low mileage transmission work on the 10 speeds in the 4th generation rigs, 2018+
Its unfortunate GM hasn't just dont do what Ford and Toyota have been doing and making their engines port and direct injected.
That's a good point.
The 2.7 is a direct injection motor.
The engine actually sounds loud on the video
Yes! I’ve had quieter engines, but it’s pretty typical for a DI. At least the ones I have owned. Thanks for watching.
Ya it’s a 10 speed
Wow, I thought those were pretty robust.
You mentioned "Extended Warranty" would cover all the injectors. The regular warrant would not have covered all the injectors? Or just the faulty injectors.
Thanks for the videol
thanks for watching! It was the third party extended warranty company. The GM powertrain was denied. Even though it was under 60k miles.
why was the GM powertrain denied? I'm looking into my lease vs used purchase options and I would love to be prepared but don't want to get the extended warranty until the factory warranty is almost up!@@jeremsgarage
@JordanStJohn-sl7zl from what I understand deratand the power train warranty only covers the lubricated parts
So everyone’s blaming the motor for fuel injected problems. Did anyone think that maybe it was the fuel he was using? I took my Lexus in the other day because I had a check engine light. They said you got bad gas and one of your injectors is not running right. They’ve cleared the code and told me to get premium gas. Problem solved.
Washer fluid 😂
Yea, I sure felt dumb.
I bought a 2022 silverado 1500 with 10,000kms what a piece of junk that 2.7 turbo not the greatest
Sorry you had a bad experience. My 2.7l had been excellent and by far way better at towing than my other V8’s. The transmission is the most temperamental thing though.
First week turbo blew right out now tranny giving me problems thank god for warrenty
That motor is JUNK
@@dannyfloyd1368 I keep waiting for it to be junk, but it just keeps on working. Nearing 60k miles
Even if i could afford 1 of these Overpriced, Over-engineered,POS !! i’ll keep my 2013 HD2500 gas 6.0 4x4 with 225,000 miles
Whatever floats your boat! Thanks for watching my friend!
@@jeremsgarage , and good luck to you Sir !!
As the song goes " don't criticize what you can't understand ".
Ok so it was fuel injectors? I've had that problem with all of my GM vehicles in the past. Just was a 1 time fix and then never happened again for me in those vehicles. Ok no big deal then.
You got it! Fuel injector 3 failed. Whew. No biggie. Just it being 500 miles away
To tell you the truth, gas is questionable to. We but top tier gas and all that jazz but scum in the tanks underground and moisture get in it. Over time it damages engines.
