Thanks for the Parasound/John Curl review. My dealer set me up with the Parasound p6 and the A21 mated to the Martin Logan Classic 9's / Dynamo 1600X. Nicest system I have ever owned. Mind you, after a 14 year run with Klipschorns (1968) and Dynaco MK 3 and PAS-2 system (1965), it is a 180 degree change for me, but still, a good one. Thanks again!

How does the P6 pair with Parasound HCA 1500A amp? I currently have a ZPRE3 as a preamp but thinking of getting a P6 to go with my HCA 1500A amp.

I would love to see you compare the Cary Audio tube amp against the Parasound P6 + A23+ on the Klipsch La Scalas. Those are the amps I am looking to buy, and your review would help me with my decision. I'm about to spend some money with you guys!!!

Thanks for watching and for considering buying from PHT! I would love to do this compare but, as I'm not sure how soon we will get to it, Ill give you a couple of quick notes here. There are several factors that come into play but, both being great options, its going to be more of a personal decision. I personally lean more toward the PS and solid state gear as I live in a household with young kids and kids and tubes don't mix IMO. If thats not an issue another factor that played is decor and style. I love the way the tubes look but some dont. compatibility - depending on your source, the Separates combo is more flexible with its inputs. This can be solved with a pre on the cary as needed though so...wont list that as a con. As for sound - the most important aspect - The Cary is going to be warmer as most tubes are. With LS not being super power hungry, the Cary will push them really well and itll sound great. That said, the PS will give a bit more headroom, run cooler, and sound awesome too, but wont give the tube sound a lot of people are looking for. Hopefully this helps and doesnt just confuse more. Let me know if i can answer specifics or give cory at PHT a call when you're ready to pull the trigger.

Can you control the tone via remote . Or just turn them on and off ?

They are hard knobs on the control side of the P6 so, they cannot be adjusted with the remote. The remote only has a tone off/on button.

The one box solution of the Hint 6 is nice but the P6/A23+ combo is only about $200 more (+a XLR cables). The P6 has a better S/N ratio (103 vs 108) and the A23+ has a larger transformer (1,100 kVA vs 1,000 kVA) and more filter capacitance (54,000 vs 40,000). To me, the combo is worth the $200 extra.

Agree for most cases! Sometimes an end user has to prioritize appearance or WAF or similar over other factors though. In these cases, the 6 is a great option for an all in one/integrated unit.

7:10 Isn't that basically the concept of a class-G amp?
Should've turned them on and made some closeups... a lot of use like to see how bright and what color the indicator lights are.

Thanks for watching! Class G is essentially a modification of other classes so, kinda? Depending on who you talk to, it's not officially recognized as a class of its own so, while they share similarities, PS may not be able to spec it out as such.

@@PaducahHomeTheaterTV A class G amp is either a class-A, B or AB, but with a variable power supply linked to the amplification circuit via a feedback loop, so the transistors use a higher percentage of the max PSU power.
That way the transistors don't need to burn away as much power.
The result is lower amp temperatures and higher efficiency.
