    I’m clearly challenged with my video editing skills visible at the end of my video! Please excuse the “mess” on screen at the end. Thanks for watching! ♥️😊 Also, for those of you who inquired as to how I adhered the oven liner to the shim ('stick'), I used double sided tape like Sookwang. I think any type of strong adhesive would work but likely not liquid glue. I hope this helps! :)

      Would a permanent adhesive spray work to attach the oven matt (or grill mat because that is what I have at home) to the shim (or paint stick - what I already have. LOL). I really love this idea... I actually loved them all. I already have the magnetic stick, as I just moved off a boat and I kept dropping parts in the bilge. The best part is I can implement all these great tips right away. Thanks for sharing!!!

    Love the idea of pre-gluing your cardstock before running those fine script dies through! I always hate trying to get the glue onto the script once it's cut.

    • @KathyaKalinine
      @KathyaKalinine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed! You can use liquid glue, too, to adhere your paper. Just make sure the glue is dry before running it through your die cutting machine. Then you’ll get a really nice clean cut! 😊

    I am super impressed by the non-stick ‘stick’. I have NEVER seen that before (and I have been doing art and craft all my life and making cards for over 30 years). I know a lot about craft and card-making, but you have taught me something new today, thank you from a new subscriber 😊👍🏻

    I'm very new to die cutting and recently saw a TH-camr cut three layers of a somewhat intricate die and then glued them together for thickness.
    I thought it was genius!👍🏻
    But I'm glad I tripped over your video before I tried it, because the technique you showed is even MORE genius!
    I'm so thankful to experienced crafters who generously share their knowledge on TH-cam.

      Would you believe I had one and it's done a disappearing act. I dropped an earring and it landed right at the back of my walk-in wardrobe. As I am elderly (84) I couldn't reach it so out came my magic magnet and voila, I got it!

      I have a small wood box, like a frame. I glued a magnet sheet to the inside of this box/frame, and this is where I put the dies for the project that I’m currently working on. So they don’t get lost among my papers and mess on my table .

      Laura Miller you can try a free paint stick from the big box stores like Hone Depot or Lowe’s if you’re in the USA! Also, try a wooden ruler or even a thin piece of balsa wood at Michael’s or Joanns. Just use caution not to use your heat tool for too long in one place. Hope this helps! 😊

    My favorite tip was the oven liner covered shim. I was chuckling when I saw it as I have been attaching my die cuts to a large popsicle type stick (picked up a big bag full at Walmart, very inexpensive) with just tape runner as I was tired of burning my fingers or when using a tweezers and having to redo the area where the tweezers was. When the stick gets too messy I just throw it away. I like the shim idea that supports a bigger die cut. I also love your tip to glue the cardstock layers together before die cutting those intricate die cuts...brilliant!!! Why didn't I think of that? Maybe cause I am 73 and have a hard time thinking outside of the box I am always sitting in. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks. I am very excited to watch more of your videos!

    As someone with back issues, I really like the telescoping magnet wand for those dies that not only fall but seem to bounce out of reach.
    I currently use long-ish scissor tongs to pick up things I drop but you just can’t get under a die that falls flat on a hardwood floor to pick it up.

    REALLY COOL TIPS...LOVE THEM ALL!
    Here's the tip I'd like to share...I have found that when I need a thriftier type of storage container...I write the "space" or
    " size"needed, and off to the thrift store, I go...I give myself
    permission to go into 3 stores, if needed, and generally, I find that item.
    Case in point, I had wanted to group my punches together...but in an out of sight way....knowing this information...I dropped into a goodwill..only to find,they were having a 50% off day...YAY.
    I went to the back of the store, and there, sat a 6 shelving unit, divided most of the way down.
    I almost put it down...but realized...it was probably what I was looking for...besides, I could afford $3.50 if I was wrong...took it home, and started buying cake pans for this unit...today, it houses...all my punches...my cricut cartridges...remember those?...my sizzlets... my circle and oval cutter...and my big dies...my thin wafer dies are in another part of my crafting space....as there are quite a number of those.
    Just went thru this space last night...to do a yearly purging...and found space for my
    Martha Stewart Circle Edge Punch set...I was DELIGHTED!🙂
    I got to share one more quick tip..
    Short on space?..
    Rework an area...I just did this to my armoire..turned into ribbon storage...I was ready for my uncounted stamps to come down out of view...and be organized another way...I went thru my large collection of ribbon..
    And Viola!...I found the storage I needed....I did take the time to make a unmounted stamp reference book...I believe...I'll really use these stamps, now...where, before, I RARELY USED them.
    I know this info is really looong... but tips, like yours, are AMAZING
    and help me stay on budget.
    Thank you for sharing😃

    So shocked about the glycerin on the embossing ink pad!! I never knew. And I HATE re-inking my inkpads, but it looks so easy with that spatula!!

    • @KathyaKalinine
      @KathyaKalinine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! I learned that glycerine was a great substitute for clear embossing ink. I don’t buy the pads anymore unless my ink pad is dirty and/or trashed. A little glycerine goes a LONG way, so it’s super cost effective! That spatula has become my favorite $1 tool lately! Thanks for watching! 😊

      Yes about the glycerin! Who would have thunk 😊? , The silicone brush and oven liner are my favorites...probably because I don't have a die cutter yet...holding out on that expense.
