This napkin technique is so much fun! it's like you are making your own gorgeous card stock--just from decorative napkins! I hope you take a moment to visit me on Instagram as well. Can't wait to see you there! @kali9designs is how to find me! What do you think of this technique? Will you try it? Hope you are all having a great day!
Very pretty. I know this is an “older” video, but it rolled through my auto play. I wanted to suggest, if you lightly mist the opposite side of your cardstock with water before you do your glue side, it will help prevent so much warping. I do it with watercoloring and it works like a charm. I also flatten them out, if needed, with my laminator (make sure to use a carrier sheet). Again, TFS! 😊
I've been looking at different ways to make cards with Napkins and I plan on try those different ways to find out which way I like best. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Thanks, my friend! I’m working on a new video and getting back into my craft room. ♥️ (Recent health issues) Let me know if you’re interested in doing a collaboration. I love your style and great sense of humor. But, NO pressure, okay? I won’t take any offense if you say no. 😘
I’ve known about this technique for a long time and it’s just really nice to hear a little few new techniques that I wasn’t aware of before. Beautiful cards.
Great to hear! I had never tried it before the video. I love working with paper napkins on cards. Instant beauty, right?! Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
I am going to do this technique got some really pretty napkins to use and your video came at a perfect time so again thank you. Your instructions are so clear and easy to do.
I love these. I used to enjoy decorating things with napkin art - bags, cards - I even made a border for a cotton top once (it washed fine until the glue finally gave out after a couple of summers, so I cut off the border & had it like a crop top). Anyway, you've revived my interest - I haven't made cards for years. Thank you 💖
Wonderful! I think this was the first time I used napkin prints on cards. I've done them many times on candles and that's fun and makes a great gift, too! Thanks for the kind comment! 😍
Hello Kathia, thank you for this complete and very well explained technique. Adding Nancy’s tip. The video is perfect. Thank you for playing on the reflections so that we can clearly see the result obtained. Really good ! Happy new year everyone. [Tanee south of France]
I have seen a few different ways of doing these napkin Cards, but i really love the way do them. Going to try them tonight . Thank you so much From Mount Evelyn, Victoria, Australia
These cards are gorgeous! I definitely will be trying this. I did it before maybe a year ago and I'm not quite sure how I did it but I know it was not as wonderfully successful as I'd hoped. But this looks like it will fly. TYFS! 💛TR
What gorgeous napkins! Another easy way of getting the wrinkles out is to place cling wrap over the napkin, 11:24 spread it out, then use your fingers to push those wrinkles off. Start from the middle out.
@@coolrunnings3 Hmm . I looked but all I can see is 'save' or 'thanks'. Usually there are either a save button or three little dots and save is a choice there. I have neither. I am only continuing this conversation for the purpose of educating about the functions of TH-cam. Or maybe it's my old Mac....No sweat.
I love using napkins for cards! I use freezer paper to adhere mine and it seems to work well. I also iron my napkins to make sure they are super smooth. 😬. Your cards are beautiful ❤️
I am going to try this today. I am making altered books and like to use the torn out papers for my embellishments to keep the style throughout the book. I made some page edge snippets and tried to use napkins but they didn't look great so I wonder if this will work on page paper instead of cardstock. Going to give it a try anyway. TFS
Am thrilled to see your use of the wood diecuts from $1 Tree. I bot alot of them, only to be disappointed in the quality (to use as is). Now I can use them beautifully on cards. Thanks!
Love this video too, i am dying to try it out myself, as i have a couple of lovely napkins, that need to be smooth, as they are plain white with some lovely sentiments and a lot of white space. I've been binge watchibg lots of your amazing videos!! Love your channel, thx so much, but... Really time to sleep, way pas time 😂😉😱🤭💤👋👋👋
Thank you, Kathya! Atop these cards, did you put a layer of anything? I've out off making the napkin technique because I thought one needed to put a layer of glitter or sealant?
I suggest the reason your card stock warped is because there wasn’t anything on the back surface to equalise the pullbonfires the extra layer on the front side.
So so excited to have found your channel 🥰 Love all your tutorials 🥰 Did you do a video of the before and after of your craft room? Would love to see it 🥰❤🤗

How do you cut the napkin adhered card stock to make a card front panel? Rotary cutter, scissors, guillotine cutter? I don’t want to ruin it after putting all that work into it. Your cards are gorgeous!
I iron my napkins to take out wrinkles and adhere them with 4 or 5 inch double sided adhesive. I occasionally get a wrinkle, but can generally work them out by rubbing them gently. No liquid. No warping.
Hi Suzanne! I’ve never tried it with Mod Podge. If the product is on the liquid side rather than a paste, I think it would work beautifully. No need to go out and buy more glue. I say use what you have and experiment! Let me know how it goes! 🥰
I can understand why the floral napkin warped so badly. When you wet the napkin and smooth it, the tissue stretches slightly. When it goes on the card stock and dries, it shrinks.
Beautiful cards!!! But I don’t understand why you’d go thro all that mess & work when you can just use saran wrap as the adhesive? On cardstock that buckles, I run it thro my die cut machine in a sandwich & that helps alot.
I hear you. I just didn’t want to fuss with plastic wrap and dealing with an iron. I was just playing around with this technique since I saw another TH-cam creator demonstrating it. Thank you for watching, Debbie! 😍🥰

I have tried the double sided adhesive method but find that the stickiness of the adhesive still comes through the napkin
to get rid of the warping you can just put the same amount of glue on the back side of the card. I do the same process with paint too..
