The loose foam base of the MISTI seems like a pretty major design flaw in an item that's meant to make your crafting precise. For what they charge you think they would have made the pad fit snug and securely without the crafter having to modify the item to make it work as intended. Thanks for showing me this, I'll do my homework on what stamping tool to actually buy.
Great stuff, Simon! One way to extend your plastic overlay and stickles hack even further would be to let your stickles dry on the plastic then peel them off and adhere them to your card front with a dot of liquid adhesive. Now you haven’t wasted ANY of your supplies!!
Tip here i use pixie spray to make any paper masking paper i use heavy weight neenah or accent opague and cut out my stamped images or die cuts etc and spray the back with the pixie spray and it makes better mask then masking paper or post it notes i never get bleeds and it has never tore my paper sometimes i get a bit of adhesive lefted behind and a adhesive earser or my finger .I love it .
The way your inks blend on your paper as I watched one of your previous videos convinced me to get all your inks and paper and I have to say they are really fantastic! Need your new release inks and will keep your stock white paper on hand always!!
I like the tip with embellishments - but did you know that you can then leave the drops to dry on the plastic? Once fully dry you can remove them and then stick them to your card or use on another project (so no waste)
I am soooo glad I just happened to catch this video tonight. I am just a beginner and haven't purchased a lot of ink yet. I already liked your inks for their brightness, but now their blend ability has me convinced!
Hi Simon!! I loved them ALL!! I am new to a lot of this card making, and I have a couple of questions, when you sprayed the pixie spray on the back of the stencil, do you just leave it on there? or what do you use to wipe it off? Also are your ink pads that you were using to blend with waterproof or ......?? Thanks for ANY and ALL Help Simon!!
Simon, you just caused an Aha! moment. When I learned cake decorating, we used a plastic cover over patterns to practice with frosting. You could practice, wipe off and go again. Your hack with the plastic and embellishments is so smart and easy.😍 Thanks so much, Simon💟
Great tips Simon! Especially the embossing bag, I hate the way the powder makes my hands feel, so a binder clip is just amazing. And the plastic to try out placement of drops, stickles, etc. I always put sequins down to find the right placement & then trade them for the drops. But the plastic lets us see the color to make sure we have the color we want. Brilliant for sure!! Thank you for sharing. Oh also, I like the “dudes & dudettes.” 🤣
I can't tell you how many cards I have ruined adding drops in the wrong place. That is a common sense hack that I have never even thought of . Thank you so much.
Thank you for your tip on purple tape under the stamping tool and saw you have labels on your blender so you won’t mix up the colors. Love the idea. Smart!
I have an order coming Monday and that will complete all the SH ink pads that I need. Any tips you give are re appreciated...especially fairly new card enthusiasts like me.
Simon... helpful tips are always nice and so many times something will get discussed that a person never ever thought of before. Keep doing what you do. Thank you, have a good day, and stay safe.
Pixie Spray! Supposedly, not everyone will ship it to Canada, but I think this is something my stencils need in their lives. :D I also really like the embossing bag hack - I am currently using smelly EK powder tool, but when it's done, I'm going back to an embossing buddy and adding a handy bulldog clip handle. Thanks for the ideas!
Thanks Simon I love the tape on the back of the foam sheet so it doesn't move, thank fs. I also like the tip of your friends you shared, with the clip holding our embossing dust. You are always so neat and clean as well as creative. Thanks again
I liked the embossing bag & the plastic cover for preview of how stickles looks on your card, and the money-saving tips for the brother labeller. Thanks Simon! 🥰 From Victoria, B.C., Canada 🇨🇦 Take care & be safe! Have a great day. 😃
Great video. Thx for showing all these great ideas. I did my very 1st stamp & embossing today. Used Misti. I started with a "test" stamp, so not to mess up a card I'd spent 4 hrs making. (Did I say I'm a newbie?!) So when I did the 2nd stamp, the real one on my project,.....the Misti shifted. I didn't know to look for that until after it messed up. I was not too happy, since Misti is not cheap. And its WHOLE PURPOSE, is to not move stamp position!!! I ended up using the TEST stamp for my project. SO,...my favorite hack is the purple tape on Misti. Do you think double-sided tape is too strong??? Barbara - Austin, TX USA
Thanks for the tips. And I liked your intro of Dudes and Dudettes. My favorite tip was the plastic over your card stock to avoid messing up an entire project.
Favorite idea was the Pixie already on the stencil. Didn't know you can't make mud with your inks. Great to know. Thanks for the video Simon. Have a great day. Stay 😎
The tip using the acetate or plastic sheet to test/try the embellishments is just excellent!! How often does it happen that the first bit of glitter from the bottle makes a mess? Thanks, I always enjoy your hacks and other videos! Rene
Hey Simon thanks for these cool tips!! Q: do you wash the pixie spray off your stencils after each use or leave them on...if the stencils aren't dirty on the top?
Loved the tip on plastic over my card before adding pearls! Brilliant. Question; would putting a scrap of felt under your Misti pad also help with less movement? I'm thinking of buying a Misti and your demo was great because I did not know about the movement of the pad.
I don’t know about the felt but I may try it out. But you can’t go wrong with the MISTI. It is absolutely the BEST tool I have ever purchased. It helps immensely with mass production, & of course just being able to restamp something is amazing. You will love having one.
Your misti hack is appreciated. I recently ended up with a unicorn with a slightly double horn because of this. I'm living with it because the background took alot of time. Aarrgghh!!
Hi Simon, I love the great hacks, so useful. I love the clip on powder bag hack the best. I also liked the dude and dudettes intro, lol. I can't wait for more videos from you.
I liked all the tips; as always I get so much from your videos. I have enough of your inks now I am anxious to start playing with them. Loved the idea about the clip on the powder bag for use before embossing and plan to try that one right away. Also liked the tip on the Misti and using a little tape on the back. I haven't really had a problem yet but that was a good idea for me. I'll be using my Pixi Spray for sure next time I use a thinner medium. All great ideas, Simon--thanks for sharing!
WOW!! Thx. I love all your card hack videos. They are the ones when I see the notification come up, with those titles, I drop what I am doing to watch. 🙈 Fav of this one: embossing clip as well as the acetate/plastic test overlay!!!
I immediately paused the video and clipped my embossing powder bag. I also use the clips when I'm using sponges, but this use didn't occur to me. I use the Stampin' Up! Stamparatus and checked, their mat doesn't move a smidge . . . but I was ready to use your tip, LOL. Great video, with great tips!
Loved the hacks! It’s hard to pick a fave but if I had to it would be the Misti tool trick. I get a fuzzy image quite often but I also love the binder clip on the anti-static bag. Just an indication how successful video...keep sharing!!

Sorry, but this is Soo old!
Is purple tape any special tape? I have seen a ton of people use it! Is it a must have ?

Thank you for sharing, I didn't know you could do that.

Does it wash off of the stencil? if not how do you store and clean them? Thank you for any answer.
For the price of the misti,I shouldn't have to be fiddling with taping it down,
Hey, Dude! My favorite tip is the clip on the magic powder bag. Great idea! I’m definitely going to give that a try. Thanks for the tips, Simon!
I really enjoy how clear you speak and you get right to the point. Very well done.
Love the hacks, my favorites were the binder clip for the embossing tool and the plastic to try out Sticles
My favourite life hack was the embossing pocket plus clip 😍
The way your inks blend on your paper as I watched one of your previous videos convinced me to get all your inks and paper and I have to say they are really fantastic! Need your new release inks and will keep your stock white paper on hand always!!

Yes! That’s a great tip. :)
Thanx for that tip
I didn’t know that so thank you so much.
My favourite was the labels. In Australia the Brother tapes cost $26 each!
I am soooo glad I just happened to catch this video tonight. I am just a beginner and haven't purchased a lot of ink yet. I already liked your inks for their brightness, but now their blend ability has me convinced!

Taping the MISTI pad and using a clip on the bag! Whoa! So cool! Just what I needed! You can teach an old dog! Thanks, Simon!
Simon, you just caused an Aha! moment. When I learned cake decorating, we used a plastic cover over patterns to practice with frosting. You could practice, wipe off and go again. Your hack with the plastic and embellishments is so smart and easy.😍 Thanks so much, Simon💟
Fantastic! My favorite was the plastic sheet to test the drops, and ('cause I couldn't pick just one) the binder clip on the powder bag. Thank you!!
Love the cardmaking hacks! Keep them coming...so fun.
Great tips Simon! Especially the embossing bag, I hate the way the powder makes my hands feel, so a binder clip is just amazing. Loving how your inks blend so beautifully can’t wait to buy them, you are extremely talented 🥰😁🇦🇺
Like the plastic testing sheet. I don't make cards, but I make my own background papers for scrapbooking. This is something I will definitely try.
Brilliant with the clear plastic over the card base to test embellishments!!! Thanks. I found a lot of very good tips on this video.
Like the placing of the plastic over stamped image to see if u like the placement
The misti and the embossing bag hacks were my favorite. My pad on my misti moves almost everytime, now I have a way to fix that. Thanks!!
Great tips Simon. I really loved the embossing bag + clip hack! Thank you for sharing all of these.
Oh I love those bauble stamps! The tip with using plastic foil is really great. Sometimes, I struggle with self-adhesive rhinestones. Tfs
Great idea w/the anti-static pouch! Thx, Simon & Ricky! 😁👍🏼
Great Tips. My. Fav is the one where you use the clear plastic to try your embellishments.
Thank you for your tip on purple tape under the stamping tool and saw you have labels on your blender so you won’t mix up the colors. Love the idea. Smart!

Thanks, Simon, for all of the great and helpful tips and tricks! I have to say that each one was so useful in our crafting world!
Love the Misti tip. I wondered about that. Did you get the foam with the grid on it already or did you adhere a paper grid on top?
I love the Dude book in the background!!! I bought some to give away as gifts because I love the artwork!!!
Really great tips! I have not seen any of them before. I especially like the embossing bag one! Thanks!
The embossing bag with the office clip was a great tip. Thank you

Hey Simon thanks for these cool tips!! Q: do you wash the pixie spray off your stencils after each use or leave them on...if the stencils aren't dirty on the top?
Yes, wash before the glitter or medium drys on it!
Great tips Simon!! You always amaze me, you are so talented!! 😊
I love the silver paste on the stencil and I do have the Label maker and love it!! love all your card tips!!😘
Loved the tip on plastic over my card before adding pearls! Brilliant. Question; would putting a scrap of felt under your Misti pad also help with less movement? I'm thinking of buying a Misti and your demo was great because I did not know about the movement of the pad.
I think the tape works best for me. It doesn't move too much, but I find it helps to tape it down a little bit! :)
I don’t know about the felt but I may try it out. But you can’t go wrong with the MISTI. It is absolutely the BEST tool I have ever purchased. It helps immensely with mass production, & of course just being able to restamp something is amazing. You will love having one.
What about using pixie spray on the back of the mat? There won’t be any waste
