I bought a Mityvac to do oil changes in my boat and just finished using it on my full sized RR. What a great investment. No crawling, no jacking, no skid plate removal, no getting dirty. It was literally a 15 minute job. Best $100 Ive spent in a long time.
@@publicname515 I do the vacuum method on my jag and my range rover without any issues. It probably does leave more debris than draining, but I would bet it's a non factor. Also, think of your tub. Just because you drain it doesn't mean there isn't dirt left over in it.
Hi! We recommend using full synthetic 5W20 Oil for Range Rover Sport petrol engines and that you change the oil and filter every 12k KM. We carry a complete oil change kit for petrol engine equipped Range Rover Sport Supercharged, which you can find here: www.roverparts.com/Parts/OCK150
I appreciate the video; however, I have always been taught to prime the oil filter prior to inserting it, is there no need to do that in this case? Also, what torque setting for the cap is "good and snug"?
i don't prime filter, i see no need at all. it could make a mess. you may wanna pre fill those truck's filters which are the size of basketball though.
Not bad good for a beginner but someone like me who was looking for more details not so helpful except the two ways to drain the oil that was really cool
Hi! The diesel version wasn't available in the US, so we can't make a recommendation on the oil change interval for the 4.4 diesel version of the Range Rover Sport.
All are 15,000 mile oil changes. As helpful as this video is, the diesels are designed different and you need a 32mm socket to get the filter cover off. Very frustrating bs that there isn't much info out there anywhere on the diesel version.
Yes and most owners do it like that. The skid plate removal makes it more difficult to do the conventional way. Pumping to remove is quick, easy, clean and convenient to recycle since it’s sealed in the container when you’re done.

Yeah but then the debris stays on the bottom of the pan. Especially if you do it often, now that nasty shit just stays in your engine.

Does it make a difference if it’s Castrol oil or Quaker state oil.
Hi Elias, the oil used in the video is the OEM formula oil used for Land Rovers. Which is the recommended oil for these vehicles.
