Thanks so much. I played back in the 90s and loved it, but I was completely rusty on the exact rules.
The new artwork is much nicer that the original works, which looked like stuff done on some early computer art package with odd filters.

I have a question. How is the 3 player variant? I mainly play 2 player games, with a few at 3 maybe once a week. Rarely do I get higher player counts than that. I would hate to purchase this game and hate the 3 player variant and never be able to play 4. Would you recommend someone to get it for 3?
Hey Delton, I wish I could help you there, but I avoid recommending or reviewing the games I feature, as I really think the enjoyment of a game is unique to each persons tastes, interests and gaming group. I know that what works for me, might be a terrible fit for you, and vice versa. Sorry about that!

I don't know if you've explained it before elsewhere, but what is that extensive name of producers at the end of each show? Are they part of each and every video you make?
I work on the channel full time, and I used to have a yearly fundraiser to support the show. At a certain donation level you would get your name in the credits, so yep, each of these people literally made it possible for me to make these videos.

Hi Rodney. Does the auctioneer get any money from the MA token board for art they kept from not being able to sell / forced to buy themselves? Granted there's tokens for the colors in question the in that applicable round

@@m.a.2649 The art you presented that non one else bought is still considered "bought", just by the player who has it (the auctioneer in your example). So all art you have at the end of the round (whether you bought it, or gained it by default) can still gain you money as normal.

Can the game be played by 6 PPL?
It's listed for 3-5, I can't really say whether or not you could make it work at other player counts.
Hmmm how could a tie occur? If the fifth painting of that same artist ends the round how could another artist get five out as well?
Tie may occur on the second place for the 20 and 10 coins.

In my opinion, they should have used famous pieces of art instead.
I imagine it could be difficult (and expensive) to get the licensing for all those various pieces of modern art if they were based on on actual art pieces.
That wouldn't be so funny, because those paintings has real value according to the public, to me and to you.
These pictures, however, - according to some players - may not worth the value of the canvas and the paint that is used up to create them... or maybe worth millions of $... who knows?
What's the point of an art auction game that doesn't show real famous artworks? Seems this game is arbitrarily about art. They could've used baseball cards or celebrity clothing...
Just wanted to clarify that the game does feature real modern art. The artists listed on each piece have websites you can search if you want more examples of their art.
6:31 In my old version of the game (Mayfair), if an auctioneer plays a double auction card and nothing else, and someone else plays the second card, then both the new and old auctioneer would split the earnings from that sale (with any extra $1 going to the new auctioneer, if the earnings can’t be split evenly). I guess the rules have changed in this edition?
I never had the original, so I can't confirm if this is a change, but assuming my presentation here is correct (I'm as confident as I can be, having worked with the publisher), then it sounds like something changed?
