    • The basic Airbus philosophy: "Lights out"
    • The preliminary cockpit preparation: which systems you have to check and why

About the CTR fuel pumps off... i got this info from an Airbus mech in a forum:
"However, the general recommendation (not mandatory) is to have the fuel pumps switched OFF during refueling, in order to ensure that the possibility of pump dry running is avoided. It is particularly relevant for the center tank pumps, because the center tank is most of the time empty at the end of the flight. Switching OFF the center tank pumps ensures in all cases that they do not run during refuelling."

The flight is from EDDT to EDDF. If you want to bypass all the small talk, skip the first 7 minutes. Extremely excellent video. I learned a lot more than I already knew before and you explain everything very well without over complicating the lesson. Thanks again.

@@hectopascal Amazing video but why cockpit video is so dark, it's hard to see the controls that's the only drawback 😐

Threshold, Lovely series honestly... however, I feel that this could slightly be more organised, personally anyway. With some time stamps and some titles to inform us noobs as to where he is exactly, like ''COCKPIT PREPARATION'', ''Walk around'' FMGS Set up'' ''Engine Start'' etc etc....so for noobs like me, we could always return to these specific points. But never the less, his knowledge is phenomenal. Thank you very much for the video lads

Good and precise walkthrough. One question: How to Air condition if outside Temp is very low without APU. Do you use any external heat? I guess preparing the cockpit with 5 C Temperaturew is no fun.

    • @hectopascal
      @hectopascal 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for your feedback! There is indeed an option to connect ground equipment to the Aircraft which can provide preconditioned air for extreme cold or hot conditions. Airports where such conditions occur often, usually offer this service. Otherwise it´s just like waiting for your car to heat up/ cool down while you are already driving it. Of course if temperatures are extreme and theres no equipment available we may switch on the APU for our and for Passenger comfort.

you should stick closely to the check list rather than explain random things that aren't related to the checklist... it would make this a more useful video for study.. for example the prelim checklist doesn't have anything between EXT Power on and APU fire test... but you went on and on about other stuff ..

    Truly informative video.
A bit of advice, as you already is a pilot, I believe it's beneficial to be aware the tone of how you speak. To speak continuously and try to get rid of accent will be a great improvement as I fell asleep 4 times during this one and a half hour video.

How could you open the that windowed exterior refuel correctly (at 49:33) ? I only get an empty refuel panel. Have FF a320 Beta activated?

    • @hectopascal

Hi there! If you're referring to the BSS soundpack it does have the triple click sound that is missing from the default sounds. As for other sounds, we recommend visiting their website to learn more: blueskystar.net/. Hope this helps! ^SV

Hello. It's quite nice idea...but the realization is suffering.
I for e.g. I was the "fresh" and new simmer who would like to know the basics and just fly A320, of course, I would prefer to go and watch the video of "that guy" who did a full flight in one hour, just rush through the plane of course incorrectly.
These 1hour of Cockpit Preparation may be interesting for future pilots, but they don't thrust videos from flight simulators, they prefer CBT and Real Cockpit videos.
For simmers? Nah, don't think either, no one will do everything step by step and bla bla. For professional simmers? They read SOP on their table and do everything steps by step by SOP.
I can't give you the idea of how to improve it, but in the format that we see now, I don't think that it will become popular => not useful.
    Just my opinion.
