Something I’ve not mentioned in comments on previous videos, but which really stood out in this one - information. The maps, airport layout maps, weather briefings, checklists etc is fantastic and I’m grateful they were included. They pop up long enough that those interested can pause and read, but not so long and off centre of the screen that they don’t get in the way. Thank you for that! I never get tired of seeing an aircraft break through the cloud, clear blue below and an endless sea of clouds below. What a view! Makes me think of the Pink Floyd song, “Learning to Fly” “there’s no sensation that compares to this, suspended animation, a state of bliss”. I really enjoyed hearing the discussion about the approach, whether to drop the first notch of flaps, track miles etc. So well co-ordinated between yourself, FO and ATC. Everything just flows so smoothly. The landing seemed silky smooth! On a personal note, I’ve been watching for a long time, I started commenting on every video sometime last year. I believe you have replied every time, answering questions or just bidding me a good day. I understand that may not always be possible as your channel grows, but you really make us viewers feel like a part of your channel and I wanted to thank you for that. 🇩🇪🛫🌍🛬🇮🇹🧑🏻✈️

Ich hab wahnsinnige Flugangst und seit 2008 kein Flugzeug mehr betreten. Wenn ich sehe wie routiniert ihr das macht, gibt mir das ein total gutes Gefühl.
Danke für das gute Feedback! Es tut mir sehr leid, dass Du Flugangst hast. Ich kann nur immer wieder sagen, dass das Fliegen heute extrem sicher ist. Das gefährlichste an jeder Flugreise ist der Weg mit dem Auto oder öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln vom und zum Flughafen. Die Flugzeuge sind bei uns in einem extrem guten Wartungszustand und alle wichtigen Systeme sind doppelt oder sogar dreifach vorhanden. Selbst bei den Piloten ist das so. Wenn einer ausfallen würde, würde der verbliebene Pilot das Flugzeug zum nächsten Airport fliegen. Wichtig ist, dass man immer angeschnallt ist, auch wenn die Anschnallzeichen ausgeschaltet sind. Wir tun das auch im Cockpit. Unsere Beckengurte sind immer geschlossen, wenn wir auf unseren Plätzen sitzen. Ich wünsche Dir, dass Du bald wieder in ein Fluzeug steigen kannst und eine schöne Reise antreten wirst.

Endlich mal ein interessantes rabbit hole in das ich gefallen bin. Durch die ganzen Dokus von national geographic/ Mayday ist es auch schön zu sehen wie so ein flug aussieht. Ich saß selber auch noch nie in einem Flugzeug

Unglaublich wie viel Gefühl man braucht um ein Flugzeug zu landen. Jetzt verstehe ich auch wenn ein Pilot sagt, dass es für einen Laien (fast) unmöglich ist im Notfall ein Flugzeug manuell zu landen. Sehr cooler Einblick, danke dafür!

Sehr interessant, mal eine komplette Aufnahme von einem Flug aus der Sicht der Piloten zu sehen. Untertitel für die ganzen Funksprüche usw. wären natürlich schön, aber ich meckere hier auf sehr, sehr hohem Niveau. Vielen Dank für das Video und weiter so!

This is so helpful for improving my A320 flying in MS flight simulator. Mostly the speeds with which you fly the descent and slowing down to final approach speed just before you intercept the glideslope. Usually the cockpit vids don't provide these details.
This was so interesting! My workplace is just 3km from runway 30 and almost on the approach line, so I get great views of the planes landing there. So nice to see the pilots' point of view when you're flying past us.

Würde mich freuen wenn wir häufiger hinfliegen würden. Ich war letzte Woche abends nach längerer Zeit wieder da, von den Hügeln westlich der Stadt hat man bestimmt eine schöne Sicht auf City und anfliegenden Verkehr. Schönes Wochenende!

Danke fürs Anschauen und das sehr persönliche Feedback! Ich weiß, es ist einfach gesagt: Es gibt keinen Grund, mit Angst in einen Airbus A320 einzusteigen! Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass man auf dem Flug zu Schaden kommt, ist extremst gering! Das Gefährlichste bei einer Flugreise ist immer der Weg vom und zum Flughafen. Dort ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit erheblich größer, dass man zu Schaden kommt als im Flugzeug. Im Flugzeug sind alle wichtigen Systeme mehrfach vorhanden und auch wir als Crew möchten gesund und munter am Ziel ankommen. Wir werden nichts tun, dass die sichere Flugdurchführung in irgendeiner Weise gefährdet. Klar, Geräusche, die man als Passagier zunächst nicht zuordenen kann, gibt es einige während eines Fluges. Sorgen machen sollte man sich allerdings trotzdem nicht. Denn das ist ganz normal. Ich wünsche viele entspannte Flüge!

Excellent video as always! Could you have a word with your SFOs, they keep getting their radio transmissions the wrong way around! Callsign at THE END, except on initial call! - you get it right every time
Thanks for watching and for your comment! There is nothing wrong here! This is done for a reason! If somebody is reading back the callsign first, he or she gives the pilot flying the possibility to dial the instructions from ATC into the flight management system first and then doing the readback from whatever the instruments show. This eliminates mistakes. Otherwise, the readback may start with a short delay (until the pilot flying has dialed the instructions into the flight management system) or it may be just a readback of what ATC told the crew without 2 pilot verification. Especially in high density traffic areas, ATC expects a very timely response.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos or it introduces 2 possible chances of communication error from the PF mishearing and entering incorrectly followed by the PM reading the incorrect setting rather than the correct read-back.. and so I wonder if it’s Eurowings policy that the callsign goes first, why don’t you say it that way when you are PM..? I appreciate the timely reply bit, but it’s a matter of milliseconds and confusion for other aircraft on frequency. 2 pilot verification is easily accomplished by clear and slow read-back of the instruction while the PF enters it - just like every other airline do. As laid out in ICAO DOC 9432 - Manual of Radiotelephony: “2.8.3.7 - an aircraft should terminate the read-back by its callsign” Mirrored in EASA and CAA CAP 413 🤷♂️
@@RedSailor1701 The current regulation which is valid for EASA airlines and EASA airspace does not specify that the callsign has to be infront or at the end of the readback. A similar wording is used for ATC clearances. The regulation for ATS (air traffic control) differs. As pilots, we can do both and use it in a senseful manner. This is exactly what I personally do. Here is the regulation from EASA: SERA.14075 Exchange of communications Regulation (EU) 2016/1185 (a) Communications shall be concise and unambiguous, using standard phraseology whenever available. (1) When transmitted by an aircraft, the acknowledgement of receipt of a message shall comprise the call sign of that aircraft. (2) When acknowledgement of receipt is transmitted by an ATS unit to an aircraft, it shall comprise the call sign of the aircraft, followed if considered necessary, by the call sign of the ATS unit. A similar regulation is used for ATC clearances.

Great to see another full flight video. Before I continue watching it, I would like to ask a few questions. Are you authorized to perform RNP AR approaches? Is it required by your airline? If Yes, in what does that training consist? Also, do you know anything on transferring licenses/ratings between Europe and the US? Did you just get all your FAA certificates from scratch? And which FAA ones do you possess apart from your PPL? Thank you so much for these videos.
First of all: Thanks for supporting the channel as a member! Right now, we do not fly RNP AR approaches. If we would fly them, a prior training program may be required. I assume that this would be a computer based training and and some training in the fullflight simulator. Transferring licenses from the US to Europe or vice versa depends on the license level and rating. In general, the FAA and the EASA accept that a pilot did the training and got a license from the other authority. They honor the training. But to get the license from the other organization, you still have to do a written test and some kind of flight test to get the license or rating transferred. The easiest transfer is the private license. It just requires a written difference test. Other licenses may require the full testing program. For example: If you want to transfer an ATP from EASA to the USA, you have to do the full ATP written test and a flight test in an airplane or a fullflight simulator and an ATP-CTP course. If you want to transfer a type rating, you have to do the oral check and the full typerating checkride in the simulator or the airplane. Details are available on the FAA website and on the different EASA country websites.

Die Video sind richtig Klasse! Ich hab mir alle fast am Stück angeschaut (alle von den full flights). Was ist cool fände: Wenn noch eine weitere Kamera die FCU abfilmt, das würde mir manchmal helfen den Flug und die Handlungen noch besser nachvollziehen zu können. Insbesondere bei der vertikalen Flugführung und wann man selected oder managed modes wählt, auch wenn vielen auf dem FMA erkennbar ist.

Das ist tatsächlich so: Alles, was Du in der FCU eindrehst, siehst Du im FMA bzw. PFD. Du siehst es sogar besser. Zum Beispiel beim Open Climb oder dem Managed Climb. Ich behalte das trotzdem mal im Hinterkopf. Aktuell gibt es erst einmal das Ziel, PFD und ND wieder in besserer Qualität darzustellen. Die Kamera, die das ganz gut gemacht hat, war für einige Zeit leider defekt. Außerdem möchte ich gerne, aufgrund von vielen Requests, mehr von der MCDU zeigen. Einen schönen Tag noch!
Ich bin zwar schon oft geflogen und liebe auch, über die Technik und Logistik dahinter zu lernen - aber ich bekomme schon beim schauen des Starts hier richtig schlechtes Gefühl im Bauch. Pure Angst, nur vom zugucken 😄 zum Glück kommt man mit der Bahn auch noch aus Deutschland in schöne Gegenden. Ich möchte so selten wie möglich in einem Metallvogel sitzen! Aber ich find's trotzdem faszinierend

Thanks for watching and your good feedback! The climb N1 value varies depending on the engines, airplane, altitude and other factors...We set the thrust levers to climb and the FADEC automatically sets the right N1 value. I do not know the average value.
Sehr schöner Anflug mit der schönen Altstadt um einen herum. Einfach fantastisch. Aber eine frage habe ich an euch beide: Warum fliegen die Piloten die Maschine nach dem Start noch ne Weile manuell statt direkt den Autopiloten einzuschalten?

@@yeahdaddycool8970 Auf dem Kanal wird lediglich der original Ton aus dem Cockpit wiedergegeben, den jeder hören kann, der sich dort befindet. Es ist kein ATC-live-audio Kanal oder etwas ähnliches. Der Ton beinhaltet im Schwerpunkt unsere interne Kommunikation, die automatischen Callouts des Flugzeuges und die Kommunikation mit der Flugsicherung. Deshalb kann ich auch im Nachhinein nicht die Lautstärke des Funks im Vergleich zu unserer Gesprächslautstärke modifizieren. Rechtlich gesehen, bin ich als Kapitän für den Cockpit-Zutritt verantwortlich. Im Rahmen der Videos erlaube ich den Zuschauern einen “virtuellen” Cockpitzutritt. Sollten mal im Rahmen des Flugfunks personenbezogene private Daten zu hören sein, gehören diese natürlich nicht in ein TH-cam-Video und der Teil wird selbstverständlich nicht veröffentlicht. Das kommt allerdings sehr selten vor, da der Flugfunk fast nur aus standardisierten Wortgruppen besteht, die inzwischen oft auch schriftlich per CPDLC übermittelt werden. Einen schönen Tag noch!

Ich hab wahnsinnige Flugangst und seit 2008 kein Flugzeug mehr betreten. Wenn ich sehe wie routiniert ihr das macht, gibt mir das ein total gutes Gefühl.
Danke für das gute Feedback! Es tut mir sehr leid, dass Du Flugangst hast. Ich kann nur immer wieder sagen, dass das Fliegen heute extrem sicher ist. Das gefährlichste an jeder Flugreise ist der Weg mit dem Auto oder öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln vom und zum Flughafen. Die Flugzeuge sind bei uns in einem extrem guten Wartungszustand und alle wichtigen Systeme sind doppelt oder sogar dreifach vorhanden. Selbst bei den Piloten ist das so. Wenn einer ausfallen würde, würde der verbliebene Pilot das Flugzeug zum nächsten Airport fliegen. Wichtig ist, dass man immer angeschnallt ist, auch wenn die Anschnallzeichen ausgeschaltet sind. Wir tun das auch im Cockpit. Unsere Beckengurte sind immer geschlossen, wenn wir auf unseren Plätzen sitzen. Ich wünsche Dir, dass Du bald wieder in ein Fluzeug steigen kannst und eine schöne Reise antreten wirst.

Unglaublich wie viel Gefühl man braucht um ein Flugzeug zu landen. Jetzt verstehe ich auch wenn ein Pilot sagt, dass es für einen Laien (fast) unmöglich ist im Notfall ein Flugzeug manuell zu landen. Sehr cooler Einblick, danke dafür!

This is so helpful for improving my A320 flying in MS flight simulator. Mostly the speeds with which you fly the descent and slowing down to final approach speed just before you intercept the glideslope. Usually the cockpit vids don't provide these details.

Würde mich freuen wenn wir häufiger hinfliegen würden. Ich war letzte Woche abends nach längerer Zeit wieder da, von den Hügeln westlich der Stadt hat man bestimmt eine schöne Sicht auf City und anfliegenden Verkehr. Schönes Wochenende!

Danke fürs Anschauen und das sehr persönliche Feedback! Ich weiß, es ist einfach gesagt: Es gibt keinen Grund, mit Angst in einen Airbus A320 einzusteigen! Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass man auf dem Flug zu Schaden kommt, ist extremst gering!
Das Gefährlichste bei einer Flugreise ist immer der Weg vom und zum Flughafen. Dort ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit erheblich größer, dass man zu Schaden kommt als im Flugzeug.
Im Flugzeug sind alle wichtigen Systeme mehrfach vorhanden und auch wir als Crew möchten gesund und munter am Ziel ankommen. Wir werden nichts tun, dass die sichere Flugdurchführung in irgendeiner Weise gefährdet.
Klar, Geräusche, die man als Passagier zunächst nicht zuordenen kann, gibt es einige während eines Fluges. Sorgen machen sollte man sich allerdings trotzdem nicht. Denn das ist ganz normal.
Ich wünsche viele entspannte Flüge!

Callsign at THE END, except on initial call! - you get it right every time
Thanks for watching and for your comment! There is nothing wrong here! This is done for a reason! If somebody is reading back the callsign first, he or she gives the pilot flying the possibility to dial the instructions from ATC into the flight management system first and then doing the readback from whatever the instruments show. This eliminates mistakes. Otherwise, the readback may start with a short delay (until the pilot flying has dialed the instructions into the flight management system) or it may be just a readback of what ATC told the crew without 2 pilot verification. Especially in high density traffic areas, ATC expects a very timely response.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos or it introduces 2 possible chances of communication error from the PF mishearing and entering incorrectly followed by the PM reading the incorrect setting rather than the correct read-back..
and so I wonder if it’s Eurowings policy that the callsign goes first, why don’t you say it that way when you are PM..?
I appreciate the timely reply bit, but it’s a matter of milliseconds and confusion for other aircraft on frequency. 2 pilot verification is easily accomplished by clear and slow read-back of the instruction while the PF enters it - just like every other airline do.
As laid out in ICAO DOC 9432 - Manual of Radiotelephony:
“2.8.3.7 - an aircraft should terminate the read-back by its callsign”
Mirrored in EASA and CAA CAP 413 🤷♂️
@@RedSailor1701 The current regulation which is valid for EASA airlines and EASA airspace does not specify that the callsign has to be infront or at the end of the readback. A similar wording is used for ATC clearances.
The regulation for ATS (air traffic control) differs.
As pilots, we can do both and use it in a senseful manner. This is exactly what I personally do.
Here is the regulation from EASA:
SERA.14075 Exchange of communications
Regulation (EU) 2016/1185
(a) Communications shall be concise and unambiguous, using standard phraseology whenever available.
(1) When transmitted by an aircraft, the acknowledgement of receipt of a message shall comprise the call sign of that aircraft.
(2) When acknowledgement of receipt is transmitted by an ATS unit to an aircraft, it shall comprise the call sign of the aircraft, followed if considered necessary, by the call sign of the ATS unit.
A similar regulation is used for ATC clearances.

Are you authorized to perform RNP AR approaches? Is it required by your airline? If Yes, in what does that training consist?
Also, do you know anything on transferring licenses/ratings between Europe and the US? Did you just get all your FAA certificates from scratch? And which FAA ones do you possess apart from your PPL?

First of all: Thanks for supporting the channel as a member! Right now, we do not fly RNP AR approaches. If we would fly them, a prior training program may be required. I assume that this would be a computer based training and and some training in the fullflight simulator. Transferring licenses from the US to Europe or vice versa depends on the license level and rating. In general, the FAA and the EASA accept that a pilot did the training and got a license from the other authority. They honor the training. But to get the license from the other organization, you still have to do a written test and some kind of flight test to get the license or rating transferred. The easiest transfer is the private license. It just requires a written difference test. Other licenses may require the full testing program. For example: If you want to transfer an ATP from EASA to the USA, you have to do the full ATP written test and a flight test in an airplane or a fullflight simulator and an ATP-CTP course. If you want to transfer a type rating, you have to do the oral check and the full typerating checkride in the simulator or the airplane. Details are available on the FAA website and on the different EASA country websites.

Die Video sind richtig Klasse! Ich hab mir alle fast am Stück angeschaut (alle von den full flights). Was ist cool fände: Wenn noch eine weitere Kamera die FCU abfilmt, das würde mir manchmal helfen den Flug und die Handlungen noch besser nachvollziehen zu können. Insbesondere bei der vertikalen Flugführung und wann man selected oder managed modes wählt, auch wenn vielen auf dem FMA erkennbar ist.

Das ist tatsächlich so: Alles, was Du in der FCU eindrehst, siehst Du im FMA bzw. PFD. Du siehst es sogar besser. Zum Beispiel beim Open Climb oder dem Managed Climb. Ich behalte das trotzdem mal im Hinterkopf. Aktuell gibt es erst einmal das Ziel, PFD und ND wieder in besserer Qualität darzustellen. Die Kamera, die das ganz gut gemacht hat, war für einige Zeit leider defekt. Außerdem möchte ich gerne, aufgrund von vielen Requests, mehr von der MCDU zeigen. Einen schönen Tag noch!

Ich bin zwar schon oft geflogen und liebe auch, über die Technik und Logistik dahinter zu lernen - aber ich bekomme schon beim schauen des Starts hier richtig schlechtes Gefühl im Bauch. Pure Angst, nur vom zugucken 😄 zum Glück kommt man mit der Bahn auch noch aus Deutschland in schöne Gegenden. Ich möchte so selten wie möglich in einem Metallvogel sitzen! Aber ich find's trotzdem faszinierend

Hope you had a chance to visit Bologna! Beautiful city. And yes, Bologna airport has a Lamborghini followme since 2021 if I remember correctly. Don't know if it's still being used or just a promo thing. It's actually just a half-hour drive from the airport to the Lambo headquarters

congratulations on your videos. It seems that there is great work behind it and a great desire to bring your wonderful work closer to people. On the other hand, what is the average N1% when the thrust climb power is set above FL100?
Thanks for watching and your good feedback! The climb N1 value varies depending on the engines, airplane, altitude and other factors...We set the thrust levers to climb and the FADEC automatically sets the right N1 value. I do not know the average value.

Sehr schöner Anflug mit der schönen Altstadt um einen herum. Einfach fantastisch. Aber eine frage habe ich an euch beide: Warum fliegen die Piloten die Maschine nach dem Start noch ne Weile manuell statt direkt den Autopiloten einzuschalten?

Thank You very much for this amazing video. I am living near Dusseldorf and maybe i heard You by radioscenner, yes, i love to listening airband. Cuold You please in next videos display the frequencys? Cause i know the frequency of Dusseldorf tower 118.300 MHz, than after take off 128.55Mhz, but what kind frequences do You use after? I am hearing very active radio communication on 135.35MHz (Langen Radar). Thanks.

@@yeahdaddycool8970 Auf dem Kanal wird lediglich der original Ton aus dem Cockpit wiedergegeben, den jeder hören kann, der sich dort befindet. Es ist kein ATC-live-audio Kanal oder etwas ähnliches. Der Ton beinhaltet im Schwerpunkt unsere interne Kommunikation, die automatischen Callouts des Flugzeuges und die Kommunikation mit der Flugsicherung. Deshalb kann ich auch im Nachhinein nicht die Lautstärke des Funks im Vergleich zu unserer Gesprächslautstärke modifizieren. Rechtlich gesehen, bin ich als Kapitän für den Cockpit-Zutritt verantwortlich. Im Rahmen der Videos erlaube ich den Zuschauern einen “virtuellen” Cockpitzutritt. Sollten mal im Rahmen des Flugfunks personenbezogene private Daten zu hören sein, gehören diese natürlich nicht in ein TH-cam-Video und der Teil wird selbstverständlich nicht veröffentlicht. Das kommt allerdings sehr selten vor, da der Flugfunk fast nur aus standardisierten Wortgruppen besteht, die inzwischen oft auch schriftlich per CPDLC übermittelt werden.
