Another great way is just to 3d print yourself some awesome warbands, especially with such a lovely access to dozens of creators/different models. I actually made 4 mercenary bands in different colours and models from different creators (Reptilian Overlords, Infernal Miniatures, GW, Vae Victis and Highlands Miniatures)
@@sbart23 Oh yeah! There is a lot of talented artists. It's worth to spend several quid to support them from time to time and get some awesome models in return. For once I actually don't feel bad about it, while I have more and more mixed feelings after buying another box of GW products.
I also loved the advice you mentioned in a previous video of having unique captain models you can swap out for different merc groups, keep the cool stuff coming!
Interesting and important info here. As an avid Mordheim player myself, I also see the importance of being able to quickly assemble a warband from the miniatures you have on hand at the time. This is especially true when playing away from home and only having a limited number of miniatures with you

Weird mix of a couple of GW dogs, an ogre with a bunch of 3D prints (Love to see Knucklebones flagellants represented!) and some AoS ghouls. Any chance of 3d creator recommendations video?
I've been collecting various kits to make warbands. I don't have anyone to play with right now, but I hope to draw some people in providing terrain and warbands to start.
One of my favourite day dreams is how i could make all the warbands from the core rules using just the core box, e.g skaven flails on the trenchcoat with hairy head for a flagellant. Human with skaven bits for a beastman. Unholy amalgamation of parts for a possessed. Fancy sleeves and feather hat for vampire. Only band i struggle with is sisters!!
That is a lofty goal but I would love to see someone pull it off. Sisters of Sigmar is the only warband for which I sought out the original models. There are many modern sculpts that would serve well as a Sisters warband, but none of them measure up to the original models, in my opinion.
Great video! I am just getting into the hobby and had come to this conclusion so it’s nice to be backed up by the same line of thought. Any ideas on starting terrain?
Thanks for watching! For terrain, there are some really good tutorials out there if you want to build stuff yourself. For just getting some games going quickly, I would just use whatever you have. Cut up some cardboard boxes for ruined walls and buildings. Cover them in some paint and sand and get playing ASAP.
Is anyone in the Philadelphia area still playing mordheim, or fantasy battles/old world watching this? My local shop doesn’t have fantasy setting placers unless it’s D&D, they pretty much solely play 40K or MTG and I like branching out. Lots of potential overlap in miniatures there, so that sounds like a good strategy.

I have thought about doing a video on where to get minis. I may have to follow through on that now.
