I made one mistake at 12:19, where I list the dwarf as having 3 different melee weapons after just stating that warriors can only hold up to 2 different melee weapons. I should have only given him 2 weapons as per the rules, but my explanation of weapon switching still stands. This was addressed in the 2005 Rules Review, Page 33. broheim.net/downloads/rules/Errata.pdf

Learned some good stuff, but man, I couldn't stop staring at those Chaos Dwarves. They're so cool and really well painted too.

Thanks! Yeah I wanted to try something new with the basing. I’m happy with how they turned out.

I'll share this with my gaming group. My group is just starting with mordheim and some rules can be a bit unclear and challenging. This video actually helped alot. Thanks :D

Hey man, would love to have one that explains: hidden rule and charging an enemy that you do not directly see, thanks for the content!

Yes me too it doesn’t seem really clear on the rules

" If your warrior wants to charge an enemy model within 4" that he can’t see (eg, because it is behind a corner) but has not been declared as hidden, he must pass an Initiative test to detect it. If he fails the roll, your model may not charge this turn, but may move his normal distance, shoot and cast spells"
Yeah this one is a little bit wierd and very situational, since you can always spot enemy warriors within 3 " anyways

Late reply. You can't charge *hidden* models. Hidden models are revealed when you are within your initiative, so no longer counts as hidden.
If you can't see the model, but it isn't hiding you must be within 4 and you must pass an initiative test.

    Good video!
Friendly models do block movement. The giveaway is leap as it specify that you can jump over any models, including friendlies. Not to most clearcut example, but at least it settles it :).

Isn't the all alone 2d6" away from the combatant when you fail, and then in subsequent turns, it's toward the nearest table edge? Only ask because they could be two different things.
Also, at 9:00, we play so that there has to be a place for them to stand, we wouldn't push the model back. Part of the base size (say for ogres), is that they can bottleneck a place. Likewise, if there is a ladder and there is a model (or wall of models) at the top, you'd need to have a place to put it. Say, there's a ladder to a second story doorway, you could block this off by having the model there. Can you link or indicate where it says a model would be pushed back?

12:30 minor addendum is that pistols and lances are an exception to this rule. Once you’ve used your pistols/Lance you are then allowed to swap to your other weapons but once you’ve drawn a non pistol/Lance then you’re no longer able to swap again

We play intercept the way you mention in the video as well. That seems to be how most people play that rule when I was googling around.

@@GetTabled the rule book is a bit ambiguous, and rules as written I think plays out differently. But I watched an interview with the author where he also mentioned playing this way too!

Great video! Definitely learned a few things and definitely been doing some things wrong. Regarding going through models I’ve mostly been playing you can go through friendlys but not enemies.

    Q. If a warrior declares a charge and an opposing model can intercept him, does the model that can intercept actually move or does the fact that my charge could be intercepted simply prevent me from charging?
    A. In bare essence it means that you cannot charge THAT model (ie, check before moving the charger whether he can charge or not). However, many players move the intercepting model and let the charge be targeted against that model.
    Source: Annual 2002 FAQ
By rules you just cannot charge if there is an intercepting figure. The rest is homebrewed.

2:22 - LOL, might have been a better idea to use a model shooting with a crossbow or bow; that Chaos Dwarf blunderbuss there doesn't require a 'to hit' roll, because it automatically hits every model in a 16"x1" line. 😆
