Hey folks! I am continuing my quest to make more unique looking terrain for my Mordheim tabletop! I really hope that you like this build and perhaps even more the process that I went through when making it! Please feel free to tell me what YOU thought of the video and craft in the comments down below! Thank you for your support! Stay safe and lots of love to you all! 👍💙💛💙
Leif, this is one of my favorite buildings of yours! It looks great! And I, too, live for the "I knooow" intros! They're always a pick me up! Thanks for continuing to share your wit and talent!
This might be my favorite building you’ve made to date. From a Mordheim gaming perspective, I’m practically foaming at the mouth to play with this building in a game! So much verticality and asymmetry plus all your signature style and detail! Amazing work.
Cheers from USA! I've been watching your videos for just under a year and you got me into mordheim! I just finished my 4th warband and played a 3 player game just last night! Thanks for the inspiration and all of the great videos!
I store all my terrain in my shed. All my cardboard builds are warped and usually covered in cobwebs when i get them out for action. I give them a little clean, but a few webs in the rafters looks awesome.
EXACTLY!!! I live and work in Germany and, with all of the travel videos that my wife and I do for TH-cam, I cannot begin to count how many of the middle-aged buildings here are crooked... Bernkastel-Kues is our favorite with the very narrow, obviously leaning to one side, wine tasting house... lol
Glad to hear it! Yeah I wanted to make something that was more organic-looking and I think the process went rather well so suspect that I will be doing this again…but different! 👍😂
My nine year old daughter loves your channel. We’ve been watching lately while I build some ruins for a DnD campaign. She was so happy to see a new video of yours!
Oh daaang, I see new Devs and Dice video and I know that day is going to be good and full of inspiration. That is amazing how much Joy your videos gives me and how much those tought me. You are master in your craft and amazing teacher of the hobby. Not even talking about how much u brought for us to start with templates :D huge impact on hobby and we praise you for all your work!
You are so inspiring Leif! I couldn't fit the boards I actually wanted to do in my apartment so I started building a city in 3 mm scale instead! But your videos is still what inspired the build
Experimenting with shapes is a theme for me too nowadays, to have some variety in depth and shape. I am still at the beginning of my dream game board, but introduced a few balconies to my simple ruined buildings to have some overhangs and interesting in them. This video helps me a lot to expand on my thinking and also plan ahead when I'll be making more... "decent" houses! So a great video as always, thank you Leif, the perfect thing to come home to after an exhausting full weekend business trip! :)
Your builds are fantastic and next level stuff, and your videos are really professional looking. I'm really pleased you've decided to concentrate on Mordheim for a while, you really get the aesthetic and there are so many ideas in each video for us to steal!
Another amazing build Leif. I love the different textures and the incredible amount of playability you've put in there. Also, the irregular shape and overhanging floors feel very Mordheim. So very good.
There can NEVER be too many wanted posters! Villainy abounds in the City of the Damned...especially in Leif's! Fantastic build Leif and it looked really to be really freeing having such a minimal plan.
That is so awesome to hear! I sometimes feel like I am harping on the same old focus of design and playability first but glad to hear it was appreciated! Thanks for that! 👍💙💛💙
I love the process of starting with a shape and seeing where it takes you. It seems that's a great way to challenge your creativity and keep the process fresh. Simply fantastic.
Another amazing video from you Leif!!...I haven't even seen it yet, I just know! I'm gonna make a cup of coffee and get ready for 19 minutes of pure crafting joy, just the best way to start off the week!
This is a really excellent piece of terrain, and I do like your presentation style. I've been listening and watching as I construct my Mordheim table, and you've provided plenty of inspiration.
I like the tunnel, we have cut throughs and passages under/through buildings in the old town part of the city, seeing a tunnel in the new build put a smile on my face. Unorthodox architecture and mad shapes are creeping into your city, its evolving.. such an enjoyable series of videos, you bring those wonderful pictures from WHFRP and Mordheim to life.
Another awesome build!! I cant get enough of your mordheim buildings!!! The tunnel was an awesome addition!! never would have guess that from the picture you posted on instagram haha
and an other over the top video my friend ! "No Plan" is the way I'm working the most, like an ork mekboy should do. Thanks for all that work, so inspiring and pleasant to watch just to watch :)
Absolutely great build! And the fake half timber construction is pretty convincing. Hoizontal beam at the floor. Vertical beams left and right from windows etc.
Excellent work. The building looks great and authentic. Yes, probably too many posters but what can you do, those vandals!! First of your videos so I look forward to watching more.
Top quality video and building. As allways! Love the fact that the building is still designed by actual gamer. There is a space for a players hand as well as many openings for snipers, etc. Also love the idea of bridge interconnection between different buildings. Thank you for the inspirations!!
Thank you so much! Yeah when it comes to the playability of the piece I really lean on my experience as a gamer but also game designer. To each their own but to me "playability" is top priority ! Good to hear you calling that out and liking it! 👍😊
Outstanding build. You always build awesome buildings. And I've said it before so I'll say it again. You sir have the patience of a saint. Between the bricks and shingles I'd go crazy. Thanks again for an informative and entertaining video.
So Happy to see a new video! I greatly appreciate the time and work you out into them! An FYI Lego is releasing a new medieval set in march and from what we saw there are new window and doors being released. Not sure when they will be sold separately, but it may give you more options in your builds. Keep up the good work!
I love all your builds. I can’t wait to follow suit. I’ve printed out the corner buildings and soon I’ll be making those. Thank you for the inspiration.
Snyggt, som vanligt ;) As one who used to work in construction it is pretty hard to deviate from the 90 degree corners and straight walls, but I like to think (when making Mordheim ruins) that most medieval townhouses were built where they fit and that the space available would dictate the size and shape of the building. That stories were added as needed and that several houses would occasionally merge a bit, to save on the number of walls you had to build. A bit like you did here, just cutting a bit of mdf and start building, sometimes with a goal, but not always, usually works out pretty well. The next challenge is to come up with a way to make the buildings a bit crooked. Not severely, just a little bit, like thoose really old houses that has started to set.
This is exactly my train of thought! So happy you confirmed my thesis on this! Yeah that would be awesome! I have been around the UK and some of the old building are leaning something fierce! But still look amazing! 👍😅
I base coat all my Medieval and older style figures in a dark brown and zenithal in a light brown. My justification is that they were living in 'the Age of filth!" Works for buildings too. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely love your work! Just wanted to say I used your posters on some of my terrain the other day. I only had access to black-and-white printer. But I use cheap craft paint and watered it down to give each poster a different filter color. They look fantastic, and I’ve been pointing all the people that I’ve seen it to your videos!
Looks great! Between this channel, Eric's hobby workshop & Wulvenkraft, I really wish I can go back in time to get a box of Mordheim as it and Necromunda are just amazing narrative fun ive been needing in tabletop games.
Thank you so much! Yeah I think in general I will be focusing on more specific and unique buildings rather than bulk-building! Until I make another board that is! 👍😂
excellent work, Leif, your work is always inspiring, and has helped dig me out of more than one hobby slump. i have a suggestion for the episode suggestion box - many of the old issues of Town Cryer had articles on building terrain - it might be fun / informative to see some of those builds done to video!

Wow, Leif!! Awesome build! Great call with the color scheme. I sometimes refer to a color wheel and you got it spot on. By the way, I didn’t know Viking berserkers drink soda pop.😂🤣 -Rick, USMC

My most used stairs are from a $5 wild west sheriff's office on My Mini Factory - but I had to play with the scale. Cast n Play has interior sets, but they are only sold in fairly expensive sets. Nice stuff, maybe not as broken as needed for Mordheim. There is another set that I use, with a 90 degree bend. but I have no idea where I got it from.

Looks awesome!
Mooooooore!
Let me just say this:- I live for Leif's signature "I knooow" intros. They bring me great joy.
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! That means a lot to me to hear that! 👍💙💛💙
Always makes me laugh out loud! 😂
Same
I like it when he calms down and shows me how to make little model buildings
You're like a Scandinavian, mildly mad, Bob Ross. That was brilliant. Made it look too easy.
Hahahahaha! Thank you so much for that awesome comment! 👍😊
Leif, your laugh cheers me up every single time!!!
Hahahaha! That is good to hear! Thank you so much! 👍😂
