This actually makes me appreciate the EN version more, since I now understand some of the decisions they made. There's always going to be things lost in translation.
I personally think they changed Jamils spell "Snake Whisper" into "Snake Charmer" to more effectively explain the spell. Since a lot of people know of the infamous Snake Charmer act, its easy to connect the name of the spell to the act of controlling something to your whim. Much like how a snake charmer uses music to make the snake(oftentimes a cobra) dance and wiggle, showing how the snake had become hypnotized and entranced in the melody. Kinda like how Jamils(and by extension Jades) spell has a strange little gong esc ding to it, like a note to a song, a hypnotic trigger to place the victim under trance. And Jamil kept his going to ensure Azul was put under, almost as if he was forcing Azul to listen to the song of a snake charmer and fall in line... I am going off the rails with the connections help
It's so beautiful to see that their meanings of spells actually have so much parallels with their stories. Well, for some exceptions since there are ones like "golden contract" :D Thank you very much!
