+Ultimate Gamerz the 90% of this game is perfect , the 10% that can be better is : the white veil that make all the texture and colors a little death , like they are get washed with bleach , the spinning attack is supposed to have motion blur effects and not those lighty effect ,the texture of the graffitti in the egyptian levels must be a bit more strong like in the original game , and huka huka is turned in an annoying punk without a little bit of the charm he had in the original game ( infact he never smiled , he always were angry , with darker gradations of the colors in the upper part ) , the rest is absolutely perfect , except for the fact that at this point should be available in all the levels as a switchable character , but that's not really a problem , it sill become available in one of the first updates :D
I think Im gonna miss enemies flying off into the distance when you kill them, something was always so satifying about it especially when you hit them into TNT and kill other enemies in the process.

People complaining about the water graphics... the whole damn level looks undetailed and bad. The more I see from this game the less hyped I am. My excitement went from an all time high to being extremely disappointed and let down. I really hope they fix some of this but it's probably too late now.
Bravo!!.. excellent work on Remastered it will bring Nostalgia to older Generation. In all fair ness to creators .. I will play this for being smooth , aesthetics , sound being clear , crash having new body persona's.. but Crash on PS1 will always be my favorite . 9/10.

As a huge fan of the original games, the remake is looking so amazing. There'll always be things to nickpick and not everyone will agree on how best to update them, but come on. It's just so cool to see them updated on a modern console to enjoy all over again.

I know I will be bashed as someone who is looking at Crash through nostalgia goggles, however based on the videos I have seen so far I think that the PS1 version is better. However once I have actually played the PS4 remake my opinion might change because currently I can only judge these games through their graphical look alone (something you should never do). And those who are concerned, I am giving this opinion as a gamer and a game developer and not as a someone who has grown up with the original Crash trilogy (like I did). Better graphics is not equal to better game... There are lot's of examples of games that look outdated by modern standards (e.g. Shovel Knight), but are still great games because they have nailed the only aspect that really brings the game together: gameplay! Graphics, sound effects and music is just nice bonus that helps to create atmosphere and make the game more presentable but you don't really need to have them in order to make a great game... However if the gameplay sucks and the game controls really bad then no amount of audiovisual excellence can salvage the game. As said before as I have not played the game yet so I can only form my opinion by looking the graphics and that is why I will prefer the PS1 version and here is why: - Lack of details displayed in the PS4 version: This is mostly caused by the shading and lightning effects. Yeah, the actual models used in PS4 might have more details in them but due the lightning effects you can not really make out those details. Good examples are for instance those mummies in the coffins and the exclamation crate in the secret level... Also the water looks like a wall of blue mass. But what bugs me most is the textures used in floors, walls, and ceilings. They are too clean and sharp making them look awfully flat compared to the jagged, rough textures used in PS1 version... Actually you could say that the higher resolution textures are working against the game as now the walls look really empty and undetailed as there is show much space between the different hieroglyphs than in the PS1 version. And even in the textures the lightning hides all details like in the section #0:33 making the walls look like nothing more than brownish blur and top of that water hides all details under it. But I still need to hand it to them that they did good job updating the hieroglyphs and some of the crates and collectibles. - Water: Yeah, I know it is now more realistic but this is a game about a cartoony bandicoot so why to apply realism if it isn't needed? Aside from the lack of animation compared to the PS1 version, there is one big problem with it: As mentioned in the previous bullet, it hides everything under its surface. Especially as there are some enemies and obstacles that remain under water, I think it would be crucial to actually see them so that you do not need to make leaps of faith hoping that you don't accidentally land on a nitro crate or a bottomless pit. Therefore I hope they make the water a bit more translucent. - Animations and effects: This is something I had to watch over and over again but for some reason it seems that some animations are more lacking in the PS4 version like the breaking crates and collecting wumpas... Even the effects for collecting gems and crystals seems to be toned down and I don't really get it why Crash has to light up when he spins... However I have to admit that some things like the vortex seem rather nice compared to original. As for the puking bandicoot, well I don't really mind it... It is bit weird and raises question whether they needed to censor the original animation due Crash digging stuff from his underpants but oh well, maybe we get used to it. - Use of colors: This is basically just a nitpick as most of the colors are fine but then once again due the shading and lightning there are some things that look awfully washed out (like the walls) or unnaturally bright (e.g. the shields that the enemies carry and the nitro crates... The nitro crates are glowing so brightly that it makes you wonder whether they are radioactive). But then again compared to the first videos now the colors seems more radiant so there is still hope that in the released version they have improved them. --- Oh, and before somebody says that I have forgotten that compared to the PS4 version the old one is rather laggy and Crash seems to be moving really slow but you have to notice here that this is caused by the old game having less frames by second so to make the game speed match the video maker most likely have to had slow down the original footage to match the framerate of the new game. After viewing this video for the first time I actually tried playing the original game with a real console to confirm that the game really was running smoothly as I remembered. --- Anyway to close this long rant, as I have had no change to try the new game out yet I am currently basing my opinion on the aesthetics alone but hopefully once I get the change to actually try the N. Sane -trilogy, I hope they gameplay will be as good (or even better) than in the original.

I really enjoyed the originals, but when you play remakes, you pretty much just need to think "this is a new game", to avoid getting those mixed feelings.Even the improved death animations look cool (and the new one of being slashed in medieval time feels really cartoony and fitting)
I grew up with Crash and I'm not near as nit picky as most of these comments. Like, "oh he runs little too fast" you lot actually think this is gonna replicate the originals bit by bit? I think it looks great, water is better on ps1 but other than that I think the makers did a fab job.
All you have to do is look at the walls to see the major difference. On PS1 the art on the walls is vibrant, detailed and colorful. On PS4 you can barely even tell there is art on the walls. PS1 looks like a cartoon while PS4 looks like the "gritty, realistic" reboot
The newer graphics have better lighting, but the models aren't hugely more detailed or improved, and the water is so transparent it's nearly invisible. The more even and realistic shading and lighting also means the level's less visually interesting. Really wish the green gradient on the stone was made to look like algae or water damage or something, instead of just not being there. Basically, decent lighting and terrible contrast.
I do have to ask, why is it that they nail the music for the bonus levels but when they do the actual levels' music, it just feels a little washed out compared to the original? Though personally, I wouldn't give two shits about a demo code for Spyro being included.
I don't like how the water rises in the remake, they should've add some cracks or crevices in the ground to make it look more natural since the water comes up from below it.

It's not. I've played through whole games on PCSX2 and they've ran far better than on my PS2. Even better than PCSX2 is Dolphin Emulator, if there's any PS2 games with a GameCube version I'll just play it on Dolphin Emulator as it's crazy fucking sick the NetPlay (multiplayer) and hacks you can do to run the CPU at 3x the speed, which means virtually perfectly stable FPS whilst on console it'd drop frames in intensive scenes.
Now if they could make a Medievil remaster my life would be complete... (no I don't mean like the one on the vita, I want a remaster of the original two games)

I think its sped up a bit to match both videos. Look at the end of the levels, ps4 version gets sped up to line up in the end.

That is how remastered games should be. Not only little bit better textures or changing whole game.
Not that I don't like what they're doing with the remakes, but something just feels off about it. Also the water in the remake is too realistic and needs more movement.
Crash 2 and 3 still look and run really good to this very day. Funny thing is, the original Crash 2 & 3 loaded levels faster than the N. Sane Trilogy.
everyone talking about the graphics on whether they look better or worse but actually who cares? what I see in this video is that gameplay is the exact same! same difficulty, same challenge. and that's what is all about. I literally can't wait for this game to play! and this is an opportunity to make the franchise rise again and hopefully get a new entry in the future!
People nitpick everything about the remaster, 90% of them bought it. They want a remaster of the remaster, they will never be satisfied. I know im happy with what I play, been so many years ago since I stopped playing ps1.
Honestly, i do understand all the ''ps1 is better!'' comments (due to the nostalgia) but, can we stop being so ungreatful for once? We have here a beautiful well done remake that respected the triology by not doing anything too drastic or fucking it up! *sigh* the bashing and complaining comments are the reason why remakes/remasters are so hard to get for some old franchises!

I know I will be bashed as someone who is looking at Crash through nostalgia goggles, however based on the videos I have seen so far I think that the PS1 version is better. However once I have actually played the PS4 remake my opinion might change because currently I can only judge these games through their graphical look alone (something you should never do).
And those who are concerned, I am giving this opinion as a gamer and a game developer and not as a someone who has grown up with the original Crash trilogy (like I did).
Better graphics is not equal to better game...
There are lot's of examples of games that look outdated by modern standards (e.g. Shovel Knight), but are still great games because they have nailed the only aspect that really brings the game together: gameplay! Graphics, sound effects and music is just nice bonus that helps to create atmosphere and make the game more presentable but you don't really need to have them in order to make a great game... However if the gameplay sucks and the game controls really bad then no amount of audiovisual excellence can salvage the game.
As said before as I have not played the game yet so I can only form my opinion by looking the graphics and that is why I will prefer the PS1 version and here is why:
- Lack of details displayed in the PS4 version:
This is mostly caused by the shading and lightning effects. Yeah, the actual models used in PS4 might have more details in them but due the lightning effects you can not really make out those details. Good examples are for instance those mummies in the coffins and the exclamation crate in the secret level... Also the water looks like a wall of blue mass.
But what bugs me most is the textures used in floors, walls, and ceilings.
They are too clean and sharp making them look awfully flat compared to the jagged, rough textures used in PS1 version... Actually you could say that the higher resolution textures are working against the game as now the walls look really empty and undetailed as there is show much space between the different hieroglyphs than in the PS1 version.
And even in the textures the lightning hides all details like in the section #0:33 making the walls look like nothing more than brownish blur and top of that water hides all details under it.
But I still need to hand it to them that they did good job updating the hieroglyphs and some of the crates and collectibles.
- Water:
Yeah, I know it is now more realistic but this is a game about a cartoony bandicoot so why to apply realism if it isn't needed?
Aside from the lack of animation compared to the PS1 version, there is one big problem with it: As mentioned in the previous bullet, it hides everything under its surface.
Especially as there are some enemies and obstacles that remain under water, I think it would be crucial to actually see them so that you do not need to make leaps of faith hoping that you don't accidentally land on a nitro crate or a bottomless pit. Therefore I hope they make the water a bit more translucent.
- Animations and effects:
This is something I had to watch over and over again but for some reason it seems that some animations are more lacking in the PS4 version like the breaking crates and collecting wumpas... Even the effects for collecting gems and crystals seems to be toned down and I don't really get it why Crash has to light up when he spins...
However I have to admit that some things like the vortex seem rather nice compared to original.
As for the puking bandicoot, well I don't really mind it... It is bit weird and raises question whether they needed to censor the original animation due Crash digging stuff from his underpants but oh well, maybe we get used to it.
- Use of colors:
This is basically just a nitpick as most of the colors are fine but then once again due the shading and lightning there are some things that look awfully washed out (like the walls) or unnaturally bright (e.g. the shields that the enemies carry and the nitro crates... The nitro crates are glowing so brightly that it makes you wonder whether they are radioactive).
But then again compared to the first videos now the colors seems more radiant so there is still hope that in the released version they have improved them.

Oh, and before somebody says that I have forgotten that compared to the PS4 version the old one is rather laggy and Crash seems to be moving really slow but you have to notice here that this is caused by the old game having less frames by second so to make the game speed match the video maker most likely have to had slow down the original footage to match the framerate of the new game.
After viewing this video for the first time I actually tried playing the original game with a real console to confirm that the game really was running smoothly as I remembered.

Anyway to close this long rant, as I have had no change to try the new game out yet I am currently basing my opinion on the aesthetics alone but hopefully once I get the change to actually try the N. Sane -trilogy, I hope they gameplay will be as good (or even better) than in the original.

Nostalgic glass!) ,there have plenty solution to build the water effect more physically and dynamic.like physX.the remaster one is like a fog,the PS1 has no physic engine but they use texture，lighting ，mid-mapping to create the water which works and looks very well and decent compare with this remaster.
(some bias I also know about physics engine and animation,and play other modern game as well,but for me it was bad! even compare with other modern game water effect!)
I still can't believe why PS4 remaster the water was bad than PS1.also the PS1 has some colour good choice,like the wall and floor having moss(in green colour)which boost the atmosphere for the theme of the level.
also look at the floating platform compare with PS1 and PS4, how can the platform will just go up and down straight fully when you step on it and no movement.PS1 it have.
well complain it doesn't mean we hate the game,as crash fans I love to see they bring back the golden age games to modern gamers.but it doesn't mean there has no improvment or made it bad than PS1

They try to remaster a game and make it better for everyone, I love it and yet people still complain about It, how ungrateful. So glad I'm going to be able to play this game again on a console that is modern and dont have to scavenge a dirty flea market to find a ps1 again.

People expect this to be a 1:1 copy even though its impossible. Im fine with the game my only "problem" is the bright colors on the PS4 but nothing special at all. They should stop with this nostalgia bullshit we all grew up with this game but there is no reason to complain about every little detail...
precisely. It's ok to criticize a product, but this is ridicolous. Never there will be a complete copy of anything in this world that is 100% accurate. What people should actually look up, is what it matters; the gameplay. I mean, all this complaining and i know how the approach would have been if they just remastered the games; complains of how this wasn't done with PS4 graphic capabilities.
I really enjoyed the originals, but when you play remakes, you pretty much just need to think "this is a new game", to avoid getting those mixed feelings.Even the improved death animations look cool (and the new one of being slashed in medieval time feels really cartoony and fitting)

This is how you do a remaster - you actually put effort into it and change things for the better instead of just upscaling it to 1080p.

I grew up with Crash and I'm not near as nit picky as most of these comments. Like, "oh he runs little too fast" you lot actually think this is gonna replicate the originals bit by bit? I think it looks great, water is better on ps1 but other than that I think the makers did a fab job.

All you have to do is look at the walls to see the major difference. On PS1 the art on the walls is vibrant, detailed and colorful. On PS4 you can barely even tell there is art on the walls. PS1 looks like a cartoon while PS4 looks like the "gritty, realistic" reboot
I feel they didn't quite nail the slightly darker atmosphere of Crash 2, but at least this is spot on!

I liked N'sane trilogy a lot but it really amazes me how good the ps1 version looks

The newer graphics have better lighting, but the models aren't hugely more detailed or improved, and the water is so transparent it's nearly invisible. The more even and realistic shading and lighting also means the level's less visually interesting. Really wish the green gradient on the stone was made to look like algae or water damage or something, instead of just not being there.
Basically, decent lighting and terrible contrast.
I prefer how the original looks but still both look great.
My biggest complaint is the color. They seem to pop so much more on the PS1. Otherwise, everything else looks dope

I do have to ask, why is it that they nail the music for the bonus levels but when they do the actual levels' music, it just feels a little washed out compared to the original? Though personally, I wouldn't give two shits about a demo code for Spyro being included.
I'm one of those that thinks that the remaster/recreation looks amazing. The only gripe is the colours seem a bit too muted and don't pop.
I don't like how the water rises in the remake, they should've add some cracks or crevices in the ground to make it look more natural since the water comes up from below it.

No, they need to release a 2nd Crash Twinsanity. Definitively my all-time favorite Crash Bandicoot game as well. Just making me think of it makes me want to replay it now, in PCSX2 with widescreen hack and fucking superb graphics rendered at way above native resolution. ;-)
It's not. I've played through whole games on PCSX2 and they've ran far better than on my PS2. Even better than PCSX2 is Dolphin Emulator, if there's any PS2 games with a GameCube version I'll just play it on Dolphin Emulator as it's crazy fucking sick the NetPlay (multiplayer) and hacks you can do to run the CPU at 3x the speed, which means virtually perfectly stable FPS whilst on console it'd drop frames in intensive scenes.
Never gonna happen because that game sucks and isn't canon.
