- Everyone had the chance to do an intro comparison but me. So... In honor of Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy releasing later this month, I decided to do an intro comparison of all three games of the original trilogy with the N-Sane Trilogy footage.

I love how Polar now goes to Coco for protection in the new one!
Tawna's part in the first one was totally badass. Wow.
I love how they kept every word for word on the dialog. They only added modern expressional tone which gives more action. I only wish they made Uka Uka's voice similar to the original, it was more intimidating.

I've never even PLAYED these games before and I'm feeling nostalgic. I can't even imagine an actual fan's reactions.

Fun fact: In both German versions Cortex says different things. In the original it's a confused (still hilarious) "Nnnpf???" and in the remaster he says "War ja klar!" (That figures!) Just, eh, thought I'd share it.

Oh lord, even the timing are very much stay as close as original game, and the animations made it more lively. I think I'm going to love this game like original trilogy.
Actually, there are noticeable parts where the old footage is slowed.
The intro's now are very great! It's like view a movie.

The new intros are really great. Only nitpick is it's cooler to see and hear N. Tropy walk up from the shadows behind Uka Uka
Scott Elder Yeah that was something I always paid attention to, seeing that shadow getting closer and closer, was kinda creepy but really cool
I always thought N. Tropy's entrance in Warped was pretty creepy. His silhouette slowly makes its way over to the camera all while Uka Uka was talking, and he gives off a twisted expression when he comes into the lighting of the scene. While I certainly respect the new changes to all of the cutscenes, there are particular aspects of the originals that I still applaud.

I would've pefferd if they kept Uka Uka very dark and mysterious instead of the blue spirit at the start. It just gave this creepy vibe off. I honestly respect his voice actor but Clancy Brown did a amazing Uka Uka.
Agreed! When I was little and I first saw the Warped intro, I didn't notice him for a few seconds and it spooked me when I looked in the corner.

Stop fooling yourselves into believing that the old games are far "superior" to the new game... they didn't stay true.. that is the problem
the controls are laggy (input lag) and crash slides of platforms very easily... they also completely messed up crash 1 to the point i can't recognise it.. like i don't want the 'mask/checkpoint of shame' because i died to many times.. that is a Crash 3 thing.. i like my crash 1 difficulty like it was
the nitro fuelled remake is another story.. now that is how you do a remake
I prefer the remake's cutscenes over the orignal's. The animations in the remake's justs make them look better.
That, and there are a lot of subtle hints to some characterization, the games themselves and emotes. For example, in the Remake version of Crash 1, When Cortex witnessed the Cortex Vortex malfuntioning and said failure again, the way he emotes, may be a subtle hint to his previous attempt in Crash Twinsanity, or how in the Remake version of Warped, Uka Uka smiles when saying "I feel a little... generous" (with Cortex reacting to said emote), as if the original version couldn't be able to emote like that before, due to limitations; also in the same scene, N. Tropy comes in from the portal, that has his stage that is meant to be for his boss fight; as if the boss stage was actually his home. Afterwards, once Crash and Coco were being told the story of Uka Uka, *they knew* there's going to be an adventure involved.

4:58 just MINOR freaking details like that make a huge contextual difference, simply explaining aku aku apparently teleported them (or maybe coco did), it makes a lot more sense. When I was a kid I always found it confusing how they just suddenly got to this machine in the middle of absolutely nowhere with no explanation
although the original looks a million times more vivid and colorful now that I look at them side by side...

That's because they alternated John DiMaggio's voice. You can hear a bit of it, just when he takes his leave at 4:19: especially at the "RIGHT!" at the end.
ZekeyJester It's definitely John DiMaggio voicing Uka Uka. You couldn't tell, but it was altered to make it sound intimidating.

jakesaysknee I actually prefer not having the distorted voice. I found his more human and crazy sounding voice in the later games a lot better

Warped had me feeling some crazy nostalgia

WOW! major difference in graphics, smoothness and appearance.
Quite a huge improvement over the original, not only the graphics are better, but the animations of their expressions are better and nice to see some little changes here and there. Still, I'm going to rent it before buying it to be safe.
I like the remaster version because it has more expressions on the characters especially Cortex. The original has a lot of unmatching lips movement and sometimes some character can speak without moving their lip. Also, Cortex in remaster look like Peter Dinklage.
My favorite Neko Cortex actor is back man... that's amazing. Also I love how fluently and how much they move; their characters have way more.... well... character to them! Their movements suit them!
Whoa this is really amazing they have done really good work and all who have worked on this and voice acted old and new should all be very proud of themselves selves :) and that poor frog that got sucked into the portal lol XD I love and missed the hump these games had feel after crash twin sanity they went down hill but this could well be the remaking of them in my eyes it's nice to see all the old favourites remastered.

It's borderline disturbing how well DiMaggio's performance melds with the original intro of Uka Uka. Ditching the guttural phlegm for a more varied range really helps sell him as a character.

We've have come a long way from were we started
The game looks awesome. Vicarious should do a remake of N. Tranced as a sequel to Warped before showing CTR. Tranced is one of the classic jewels that must return. This way they might explain how Cortex and Tropy returned to the normality to compete in CTR. It will take them more time because it is basically to create a game from zero with a heap of very good ideas. An arduous work but that eventually would bring many successes. In the game Trance could manipulate Coco's mind so that, along with N. Gin, repaired the time machine. At the end of the game, N. Trance would free Tropy, Cortex and Uka Uka from the temporary vortex in which they were trapped from the end of Warped, returning them to their normal state, ready to compete in the great race of N. Oxide a year later.
But if they re-do N Tranced before CTR, how are they going to re-introduce Crunch?
This it is a good question. Probably could be introduced in N. Tranced like Cortex's creation that was liberated when Cortex disappeared. Crunch is looking for it because it has hanging accounts with him. Crunch would help the villains to liberate Cortex because the brainwashed Trance, but Crash would defeat it, annulling the mental power of N. Trance. Crunch wants to take revenge and joins with Crash and Coco to defeat the owners of the time. Ultimately this one decides to remain with the Bandicoots and they all are a great family, commemorating this fact with a photo.
No man not gonna happen that was just a side game not some main game use to explain the aftermath of Warped's ending.

I love these new cutscenes, although I still prefer N. Tropy eerily lurking in the background in silhouette before making his way through the darkness to reveal himself. It always freaked me out as a kid when his dark figure catches your eye from the beginning (where it may or may not be anything) and then you realize that figure is coming at the screen while Uka Uka is speaking..
Must get this game its my whole childhood.
These cutscenes are super well done. Animations and facial expressions are rubbery and cartoony like I'd imagine Crash would have looked with today's technology.
My only tiny critique is that I liked the way N Tropy entered the scene better in the original. Some of the simple camera shots in the old game's cutscenes worked a little better and brought more focus to the scene.
i have the second game and i had to say, the remastered ones have more emotion and more dynamic than the original, i give them kudos! ^^
