What I now really appreciate about the old Crash games is how ominous they were. I think the biggest differences between the old games and the remake are the contrast and the voices. The originals look so much darker (literally) than the remake. The remake looks like Breath of the Wild, graphics-wise. I appreciate the remake because it is way easier on the eyes and is much more accessible now but I appreciate the original for the grittiness and the dark mood. Case-in-point, 3:13. I sense Crash's fear much more in the original than in the remake. It's amazing how subtle changes can reveal how gaming has changed over the past few decades.

If only they can. Spyro's is in Skylanders right now and that's probably why they didn't make his remake since they often released them together like codes to play a demo for Spyro if you bought Crash and vise versa in the PS1 days. Nintendo would have to make a remake but I would much rather have the original producers make it. Spyro is my absolute jam. Played all the originals and even the shitty knockoffs. I hope they bring him back and give him an actual stand alone chance to clean his name of all the mud they dragged him though. So many fond memories playing the original trilogy. Would be amazing to bring it back.
I absolutely love how accurately they modeled Crash after his Warped-design. He looks different in every Crash game on the ps1, but Warped has always been my favorite design. He looks kinda funny if you position him facing the camera. They nailed that look.
Lost part of original mysterious atmosphere (dark areas and lightning, some sounds and effects - like nitro is a failure. etc.) TT. But overal is very good.
I think they got the colours wrong. I with they had kept the deep reds and high contrast of the original. Why they hell they think was a good idea to turn a blue cartoon armadillo into a realistic brown armadillo?
gameplay/experience > graphics ALWAYS. This remaster did justice with adding updated visuals however :) Still the original and this feel the exact same. Crash was always great fun! Kudos

I don't know...the original haf a lot of authentic art work I liked. For example the painting of the sun for the teleportation back to home looked a lot more...omph. Naughty dog had such an authentic feel. I feel the rerelease is a way for activision to just make money. God naughty dog was so good.
TH-cam doesn't do it justice, it looks so much better on TV at 1440p, the colors are more vibrant than here. Regardless, this looks amazing, it's just like the original but with way better graphics. Please Spyro and CTR next!

I've played both versions and grew up playing crash entirely and Although i do prefer the original I got to give credit for the remastered version it is in some ways better then the original seeing as you can now play as coco on majority of the levels and there are 2 bonus levels so they definitely did a great job with the remake, now in the originals defense although the graphic detail definitely doesn't match with the remaster it does still have high replay value and people that grew up on it will value it more. Same for the remaster that is obviously for todays current generation that either didnt know about crash back then or was never born to experience crash in the first place

First everything looks kinda monochrome, quite rounder, childish, including the animations which are smoother but slower. One unforgivable thing over all: Crash on Ps1: a coke badass, on Ps4: a weed braindead.
i wish they cooperated online mode aswell, so you can see other people online play together at any given stage, with ghost feature on or maybe off, but everyones doing their own stage thing and u can see them doing it, if that makes any sense, would intensify the game and would make me wanna buy it, but for now i stick to the old version
PS1 was such an awesome combo, blows ps4 away by miles. So many legendary games, whereas what we have now is the same thing over and over. UC4 and God of War look like the TLoU, hellblade, everything is third person with the samey look.
Fidelity in some areas improved, drastically improved animation, better storyboard in the cutscenes, etc. however they made A LOT of questionable changes in regards to art direction and as a result a lot of things actually look a lot worse. Ice themed maps, warp rooms, sewer levels, and hell just about everything looks generic in comparison. I hope some modders think the same thing I do when it hits PC.
