I remember many old games being much more detailed then they actually were, what a wonderful thing this brain of ours. Also quality art design contributes greatly to this effect.
You know it's a good remake when people see the new cut scenes and say "It looks exactly the same, did they even upgrade the graphics???"

Very cool, the new are much more dramatic and have so many details, while the old ones had a faster pace.
makes sense, with the ps1 there was a smaller memory size so to get around this they just got the the point quickly so the cutscenes didn't take up much space. Whereas on the ps4, unsurprisingly theres a lot more space here so they can really go to work making everything nice and pretty to look like without losing any large memory space

yeah, he's had a new actor since then, who has been working with crash since, so I guess they thought it was unfair if they just got rid of him. I think he's nice personally
5:24 I feel like Uka Uka should have looked more dark and scary like he was in the original in the N Sane Trilogy in this cutscene. Maybe even have N Trophy still dark in the background, and then slowly reveal himself. Just cooler and more mysterious that way.
The focus on graphical enhancement doesn't allow for good things like, a dark room, portal sounds, or short loading times. The game is too demanding already, it's not like have a reference at hand.
But on a serious note, I wish they'd zoomed out so you could see more than 30% of Uka Uka at any one time... Like in the original.
I think part of the problem is that those who have seen the game over screen of Crash 1 and 2 in the N. Sane Trilogy probably already know have an idea about what Uka Uka looks like.

I normally feel like nostalgia wins but I have to say these intros are incredible in detail and quality, really doing well to remain faithful to the originals while adding more.

FFVII and MGS were among the few that tried for a unique game over graphical fidelity, but the former of those two really was a technical feat for its time, even outperforming Ocarina of Time with visual detail in the battle sequences.
But what if you had nostalgia for the later version? I mean, you can be nostalgic about things that happened a day ago if it meant enough to you.

I freakin love the new look, but to be fair, the old ones still look amazing and they're super detailed. Also I freakin love the original voice acting for Aku Aku! The remake is a great idea and I really do like the new look and new voices and all, it does feel like an upgrade, but it also makes me appreciate the old games, because I feel they still hold up. They're such well made games and that just makes me happy c: Next Spyro trilogy remake? :D

No, this is just a lazy remake. Literally the same games with new graphics.
Metroid Zero Mission and Resident Evil GC are remakes done right. They added new graphics AND new content that enhanced the experience to keep things fresh.
Both types of remake/remaster have value.
Same game with new graphics means people who love the old games get to re-experience them with a modern look, and without changing the way it plays from what they always loved back in the day.
Changed game can also be awesome, your examples are amazing games. Different layouts and stuff to mix up and improve the experience of an old classic is great. Just runs the risk of changing things in a way that fans of the original might not like.
Either way, there are people who will like it, and people who won't. But what I mean by this being done right is, in comparison to many other "remasters" these days, which often seem to be just slightly improved textures, and sometimes include the added bonus of being a sloppy port for some quick cash grabbing.

$249 for the PS4 bundles is not bad at all, or you could get a used one. If you do get a PS4, I'd recommend getting a 1TB storage one. The 500GB storage goes faster than you think. I had 3 games and that added to about 200GB already. You could also buy an external hard drive for the PS4 later on.

in the original, uka uka and cortex were voiced by the same guy, clancy brown, who is also known for many other works, such as mr. krabs and lex luthor, he also portrayed Captain Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption. He was also The Kurgan in Highlander and he voiced in warcraft and Long Feng in Avatar: The Last Airbender. These days he's voicing Red Hulk in the modern Marvel cartoons.

I've gotta admit, I liked Uka Uka's sihlouette in the OG more than his physical appearance in the remake, but at the same time, he's clearly super angry in the remake and both N. Tropy entrances are so good. He's menacing in both, either walking out of the shadows or emerging from a time portal...Man, he knows how to enter a scene.
I got thrown off hearing N. Brio's OG voice and thought he was N. Gin, LOL. I never played the first game, since we never had it (my grandparents do, though), and only had 2, 3 and some of the others from later dates. I didn't know that N. Gin debuted in 2 and pretty much continued from there. I loved him.
I do like how in the remaster Tawna is shown that she is at least TRYING to fight back and escape. She was a bit too generic Damsel-in-distress in the original.
It would have been way too hard to animate her doing anything other than stand there in the original. By the time Crash 3 rolled out in 1998 you can definitely see an improvement in what Naughty Dog was able to animate, and the expressions of the characters specifically Aku Aku were really phenomenal for the time.
Prolly because feminists would lose their shit with "damnsel in distress in 2018". Nothing can be simply cute anymore.

I love the Saturday Morning Cartoon feel that it gives.
I loved the original cutscenes and after buying the N-Sane Trilogy and seeing those cutscenes, it made me realize how good of a job they did with the remaster and they even added a few other charming things to make Crash better!!
The one thing i prefer about the intros in the originals over the remakes is i felt the remakes tried to take away some of the darker atmosphere the intros of the originals did, Cortex in 1 and 2 felt much more menacing as a villain in that one and i miss Uka Uka being darkened as he orders around Cortex instead of all brightly lit up in the remake, really portrays the evil agenda that Cortex and Uka Uka embody
games and even cartoons back in the 90s and early 2000s weren't afraid to go for more darker tones in some kids stuff, nowadays i think developers try to make things too child friendly in fear of what the parental audience would feel about their kids are watching things and overdo trying to make things too child friendly while trying to keep things a darker tone
N.Tropys entrance in the remake of 3’s intro greatly disappointed me because I couldn’t see him walk out from the dark as Uka Uka speaks and that always terrified me as a kid 😂

What I REALLY love about the N.Sane intro for Crash 1:
-The polished scenery
-The use of zoom towards the tower of horror with dialog in the background. (Reminds me of how they use it in tv series)
-The overall feeling I get from the whole "Crash on table" scene from all the lovely details!
The showing of the weapon, Cortex's excitement around the table and his "triumphant" pose. Along with Brio's doubtful and worried look and reaction to Crash being struck by the machine which just increases the uncomfortable feeling of them doing something terrible and risky. Also Cortex's look on Crash when being shocked to make sure everything goes as planned or simply just to relish in his work.
-The scene transition from the electrifying shock into the light bulb that's meant as a time skip of the actual time it takes to prepare Crash for the Vortex. Not to mention the seeing of all the captured animals which adds even more to their cruel nature. The mental movement/behavior of Brio in the background before desperately grabbing and clinging on to the stick and eh does what he does with it haha.
-More epic facial expressions from Cortex upon transcending Crash into the vortex.
-Crash's obvious oblivion to everything that is going on with and around him with his scratching of the head and childish nature when finally escaping.
-The defensive movement and fear in the female bandicoot's eyes when being surrounded by the scientists.
Other than that:
-Gaphics
-Sounds
-Colors
-Character models
SO many things make this intro AWESOME for me!
However unfortunately they failed miserably at 1 thing and to me it's a crucial mistake that leaves it an incomplete masterpiece. The voice of Brio..
He used to sound so much more mental with his laughs and I find it really disappointing that they changed it.
I give this intro a 9/10 because of the lack of Brio's original madness voice. Can't find anything else to complain about!

The original games for the PSOne were great but I feel that the remastered trilogy will show Crash, his sister, and his enemies at their best. A great idea, in my opinion, to recreate our childhood and three of the best games for the original Playstation into an even better masterpiece.

Dominic Elwell They're both good in their own right, though I prefer the original. The effects that they've added to the new one are great. They make him sound powerful, but the voice underneath it is too expressive, though I don't blame John DiMaggio for that. Clancy Brown, (The Original) sounds much more quietly furious, which is terrifying. As a Child, Uka-Uka's voice was shit-your-pants scary, but I don't think that the remastered voice would have had that effect.
@@exult8423 That effect is a Chorus/Flanger kind of thing.
It copies the original audio by duplicating the wave signals and this interference makes it sound very thin, almost metallic-kind of sound (like a robot) and Uka-Uka is not a robot, he is a magic tribalistic mask controlled by evil power as generated by Dr. Neo Cortex, although Aku Aku is powered by the goods.
The Chorus and Flanger are the same kind of audio effects that makes you sound like you are talking underwater or in outer space wearing your spacesuit.
"Crystals... ¡of course! **the lights off** ¡D'OH!"

It makes me sad that Mr. Krabs isn't voicing Uka Uka anymore. DiMaggio is doing a pretty good job, but it's hard to beat the original voice.

To be fair, Clancy Brown did want out of the role (for both Cortex & Uka Uka) after Wrath of Cortex due to how little voice actors were being paid at the time of 2001.
They imporved so much! Here are to me the charqcters that improved
Crash badicoot 1
-dr.n brio
-he has way mkre animation like everyone else but now acually can show a laugh
Crash bandicoot 2 cortex strikes back
-coco
-she has imporved greatly and she even asks crash basically how a sister would say it
Crash bandicoot 3:warped
-uka uka
-he has improved greatly feom just basically floating everytime you see him now he can move freely and showing more frustration than ever
I love the subtle detail that the cages I the first cutscene are hinting towards future bosses
I honestly liked Clancy Brown and Alex Fernandez better for Uka uka, but the current voice actor does the voices well enough.

Same. Both VA were damn good but IMO Lang really is Cortex while Brow's is still great but all I hear nowadays is Lex Luthor from Superman the Animated Series.
Cortex's first voice doesn't even sound like Cortex. Good thing, they gave him an appropriate voice in the remake.

I didn't think Lex Lang could make Dr Cortex sound evil like that. I know he's a villain but what I'm trying to say is Lex Lang did a good job at trying to make him sound menacing.
