The last time I saw my father alive he recommended Letting Go to me and couldn't stop talking about it. I regret I wasn't paying much attention since we were at a family gathering, but he was emphatic, telling me I must read this book. We didn't know then that he had cancer, and within days of finding out, he was gone. In the midst of my grief, the name of this book returned to me and I immediately bought it to discover what my father had been talking about. It was his last great gift to me.

@@MrManny075 It’s often believed we are humans striving for a spiritual experience, but in actuality we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Letting go (in a positive way) is like falling forward. The definition of LIFE is change. For Spirit to experience change, Spirit needs to move. Your thoughts are the catalyst for change. Your human body will follow your thought. You will reap what you sow. Spend 5 minutes twice a day imagining something you want to change about your life. Don’t focus on the how. @Darren All is within and expressed without. Matthew 24:23, John 14:20, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6, 1 John 5:7. All is ONE.
You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.
We are not humans looking for a spiritual experience as the ego would have us believe. We are Spirit having a human experience and will slowly awaken according to the word (plan). Enjoy “knowing” the present moment... it will vanish in a blink of an eye.

Letting Go opened up my mind after the first 4 years of my own recovery as did Power vs Force and Levels of Consciousness. David Hawkins was brilliant and in a way was his own parody with an over-the-top vocabulary that even he made fun of. A quote that I almost live my by from Power vs. Force is, "By taking responsibility for the consequences of their perceptions, observers can transcend the role of victim to an understanding that nothing has power over them." Responsibility for the CONSEQUENCES of my perceptions??? Beautiful!

After finally reading Letting Go, I must say this book has changed my life and it's not often I say this. I was put on the waiting list for maybe a year or so completely forgot about it, then it came at the right time. Its just the simple little things in this book that made me appreciate it so lovingly. For example, usually after I have read a great book, watched a solid movie or listened to the best song in the world, I want to sing praises to everyone I know but this book makes me even refrain from doing that because I realise I would likely be promoting this book from a prideful point of view. I now see the difference as you will, its completely humbling. I began to cry in some parts of the book because I feel a part of myself was dying, the ego. Or I felt I finally saw the real nature of the universe. It's a tremendous book. Thank you Russell, Thank you David.

I think a major point (that you brought up) that’s worth repeating is the idea of allowing the full range of your emotions to occur while standing in expansive awareness or as a silent observer. Try to watch fear, sadness, rage, etc arise without being drawn into the stories. Watch from a place of compassion for your self. Thank you for the video. 🙏

‘Letting Go. The Pathway to Surrender’ is truly transformative. It has had a profound impact on my life in a relatively short period of time. The letting go technique that David R Hawkins describes is simple, applicable is any situation, and very effective in quickly identifying negative emotions and surrendering them. It is by far the most practical way to reach higher levels of consciousness

Very impressed to see Dr. Hawkins' letting go on there. I couldn't recommend his other books, lectures, and audibles enough. Letting Go was his last book, and in a way very accessible for the 'secular' person. However, he is the most profound spiritual teacher that I have been blessed to find, a true sage who completely changed (and continues to change) my world, for which I am forever grateful.
To really get him and his energy you must watch his lectures (not to mention his sharp sense of humour!) Some good TH-cam channels that post his work are: Willie StudyYourself, Pehr Hedstrom, and Veritas Publishing (official Dr. Hawkins publisher). Peace to you all, enjoy the ride!

For me, Peck's story-telling abilities and the real world cases from his practice are what fueled my passion for personal growth. Every story was an intriguing life lesson on how to rebuild my trainwreck life. Even though I had read the Old and New Testaments cover to cover 3 times, Peck's "parables" on mental and spiritual health were infinitely more helpful. I've read may many self help book and I've never been able to say that one changed my life. Letting go has come closest to any book before, however, I think I'm at the bottom right now and I've been listening to it over and over hoping that I can elevate my consciousness. Quite frankly it made me aware of how low on the scale I am, but at least I am aware now and I'm going to do everything in my power to elevate it. I wish there was a study guide. I'm going to order the actual book and study it it. Sometimes when I'm listening to it I get a feeling of elevation, but then it goes away and I fall yet again. But it's the best self help book I've ever heard. I love his brilliance and his logic. I'm not giving up. Thank you for sharing it with us. I had listened to it before, but I wasn't ready to grasp it like I am now. I'm absorbing every word. I knew it was a good book but i had to open my mind. I had a near death experience approximately two years ago. Afterwards everything changed. My perspective on life and death completely changed as I lost all fear of death, became more compassionate, more empathetic, along with other more mystical changes. Especially a hunger for knowledge. I have become very close to God. The pain and suffering that led to the near-death experience... was worth going through. I would say that when you cross that line and are brought back reborn there is no doubt in my mind that change will happen. This video came along at a moment when I was in real need. I just happened come across it this morning. Thank you Russell

I have read Letting Go at least 5 times in totality but reread the bits I've underlined many, many more times. So many times actually, that my husband would regularly make jokes like 'how many times can you let go?' and 'haven't you let go enough?' and 'maybe you should let go of letting go'. And yet, even though I've spent so much time on it, I regularly feel the need to go back to it because it's so easy to focus on thoughts instead of the feelings. It's a huge challenge actually, to just focus on the feelings, and be with them, and not try to figure things out by thinking. For me, this book is a grounding stone, more than any other book I've read in my life. I'm really happy Russell has featured Letting Go and I hope others will give it a go, and benefit as much as I have.

I been having near death experiences since I was a child….I’m either accident prone or something is out to get me…but I have noticed throughout life there has been many many occasions of letting go of old and moving into the new….due to all that I have developed extraordinary abilities years ago, have many healer skills and gifts, have developed psychic awareness and achieved states of spiritual illumination that have been mind blowing at times, have experienced major leaps and bounds in growth and other stuff and am currently experiencing it again…it never seems to end and maybe it doesn’t until the literal end..I have an inner peace and love most people wish they could attain and hold onto…forever letting go for I think we are meant to just keep moving forward regardless of how painful it can be at times to let go…you get one life and I feel I have already lived a hundred and still going..🌹

Hi Russell, thank you for this conversation about David Hawkin’s book. I am very worried about my daughter (in her forties) who is having trouble dealing with her emotions in the aftermath of losing her business in England and everything she had worked for over the past 20 years because of the pandemic. I feel that David Hawkin’s insights might very well be the the thing she’s in need of at this time. And for myself, I have had (like your mum) several near-death experiences, and as I result I have been given (although it has been hard to understand the process) extraordinary abilities to see the future and know more deeply what the truth around me is. Not easy to explain, but anyway, great to know about DH’s book, and I would also like to say that I admire your courage and forthrightness, not to mention your power of oration and discourse. It is rare these days to encounter a person who can speak the language and simultaneously make profoundly important statements. Thank you.

On a completely unrelated note - I’ve never understood reading an electronic copy of a book, like kindle. Sure it’s convenient and you don’t need to carry around multiple books if you’re travelling, but otherwise I love a physical copy.
The cover, the design and print - the book represents years of someone’s life put both into honing their craft and writing the book. It speaks volumes of the author, and the fact we can consume and learn from such wise and amazing thought leaders, sometimes with 30,40,50 years of experience, condensed into several hundred pages fascinates me, and fills me with a deep and profound respect for the author.

When he gave lectures during his lifetime many people would wait in the darkness of predawn light for hours standing on cement just to get into the lecture room. They flew from all over the world, Indian followers touched his feet, many followers were CEOs, Doctors, professionals of all kinds, Dr David Hawkins transformed my perception of reality, eased my guilt and anxiety over life, set me on the experience of my Divinity in a simple joyful, loving way.

When I think about letting go, I think of self acceptance. The more self accepting you are, the easier you will find it to face your fears.
Sometimes it’s not a courage issue but perfectionism that makes people limit themselves. For instance, any experience that threatens their ideal self image will tend not to be pursued. But then self acceptance is a form of courage!

    Russel,
You really hit it home on this one for me, personally. After much pain for so many years and drugs and drinking while self-medicating, trying to understand what was going on with my body that every dang doctor in Central Texas, from MD's to Neuroscientists, could not figure out as to what was wrong with me? It brought on a very crippling fear that only a wonderful psychologist that gave me the confidence in his support could help me to hang on. The beginning of the end of the matter came as an answer to something I had blocked all of my life back at the age of 9yrs old when I came down with some deadly pandemic that was savaging the then world, called Polio! I had to live in a bed from in which I was unable to move, in a very military type hospital, similar to that after the end of WW2, as would be the norm of the day. Three months alone, while Mom and Dad peered through a small square foot window in the door, smiling and waving, but with tears wiping their faces. The worse was not yet complete until doctors almost literally "guinea pigging" me, by taking me into the operating room and doing a spinal tap on me with NO PAIN RELIEVER, wide awake and held down, held still by four nurses that were giving me the "be a good boy" commentary, along with the stares. Good, God! I had blocked it so hard I never dreamed of mentioning it, and then so, why would I have? It was five years into the end of one career when I started with pain in my legs, then became more and more crippled, and walking with a cane, but feeling every day like it was the end of the world, depression, anxiety, and fear. Yes. Fear! The monster in the room with those of us that suffer from anxiety. I get it. Your books! The only one I haven't read is the "Encounter With Self", and I myself often called myself JOB! I will have a copy in my hand by end of the day!
In the end, there were enough people over the age of 55 that also were suffering things like the new term "Fibromyalgia", all of which big pharm was having a field day creating medications that could not heel, and only patch up, as close as possible without an opioid. I tried them all. Alas, at the Mayo Clinic one doctor had a clue and convinced the feds to pay for a broad study as to these types of people at this age? Why? Something to do with "Polio"! From the first pandemic in my life, in the 50s and some 60s as well. Sure enough, the test run did come up with an answer, a new term that most young doctors don't even have a clue of "PPS-Post Polio Syndrome". After already losing my life and my wife at least there was some consolation, but the time it took to recover from all of the drugs thrown at me was equally as difficult. Yet here I am today, losing 37lbs, and doing Tai Chi, walking, jogging, healthy life full of dreams fulfilled and completed and looking forward to many more years to come. Oh, what a simple "name" can do to change someone's life? Amen! Ha!
Thanks for your commentaries. I am here. I listen. I am on the team. Ha!

Read this book a while ago, and the first chapter brings you in and encourages you to think.
This book breaks you open and disuades you in makeing excuses that otherwise be your default-go-to upon "emotionalizing" what you have accumulated throughout your life. (Seemingly - what you accumulate can never be you)
I would suggest exploring the phenomalogical experience of individuals of all ages who read these types of work and find the concepts unabsorbable.
Exploring the emotional affect of others (audience maybe) whose rationale becomes absent or dissolute of "change" or what some people would say "transformed" when presented with these ideas; I think would make for a raw podcast.
Glad your working on yourself - Just be mindful in this journey, sometimes they say an addict can become addicted to working on themself discovering one day the tautological nature of mother earth's irony!
    Stay blessed brother!

Letting Go is the book that has had the most profound shift in me. His map of consciousness helped me realize that Pride is the most seditious of all emotions. It is lauded in our society, but is at the source of the rampant tribalism and division that defines so much of our world today.
To transcend pride, let go of your ego, and allow courage to meet you above the line of destruction.

As a "Trumpster" I am certainly struggling right now. Through it all I've been trying to "hear" people that see things differently, but I am really struggling. Terribly. I do want to understand, and painfully want to be understood. All the while in incredible fear for our nation, it's people, and our world 🌎. 🧡

@@goombaboom8096 Sure. I appreciate what he stood AGAINST! He called out the lies. He was fairly forthright and honest (more so than we've seen from polished politicians for some time now). He was treated horribly yet stood his ground, and did his best to set the record straight. Those are just a few..there's much, much more. Dr. Ben Carson had been my choice, but I was impressed with President Trumps time leading our country, and was appalled at the treatment HE received, and equally if not terrified at how WE were treated by family, friends and neighbors. Not good.

I need this badly. I have been on a journey into myself, after being harassed and had things sabotaged for me for the last three years. It is a psychological "digital" and emotional abuse that continued after a relationship finished. Not enough to get help, because it is very covert and subtle. I stopped trying to get help since I sensed I was , from many people considered paranoid (an idea he has promoted) but now I just keep silence. Trying to discover myself, were my pattern of abusive relationships started. And I search God an try to develop spiritually. The hardest part in all this is to forgive and prevent bitterness to acoure from an ongoing violation to my own person. But I am grateful for any advice of books that is helpful in this matter. I have already discovered a few and to actually read it, from someone who sees the holistic part of it all is better than any therapy face to face. I tried that and it didn't help. I write down my thoughts and emotions alot. It is often painful but still I think it is a method to self-healing and and to lift the soul over the circumstances. I am not there yet but I am on my way, and.. I always will be of course
