Hi! I haven’t seen you in awhile; love you finds. I’ve been going to gym for 30-45 min three days per week. Most aerobics exercise: peddlers, bikes, and treadmill. It’s been 4 months and I’m just seeing the difference. Muscle tightening and my weight is gradually decreasing! Keep going! You can do this😊
I didnt need that fabric either but it just spoke to me lol. Maybe it will get me in a fall mood. Still in the 90’s here so its going to be a while. Argggg❤
Hey Trish! I'm looking for a quick and easy pattern; your shift dress is really pretty. I have the same sundress/jumpsuit pattern, too, but haven't made it yet. Love the plaid fabric you got for that pleated skirt and that blouse color really goes well with it. I'm struggling with exercise and lack of weight loss, too, but I think it may keep me from gaining weight. I've been walking and sweating like crazy, but the needle on the scale doesn't budge!🤨 Anyway, great to see you!🥰
Ah the stupid scale! My last de appointment was the straw that broke the Campbell’s back. I was heavier than I’ve ever been in my life at 170. I decided at that moment I was going to get some weight off me starting with 10 pounds at a time. I have actually lost 3 pounds in a month which doesn’t feel like much of a victory, but I’m gonna keep going anyway. Slowly, but surely I have to shed some of this weight for my health. If nothing else I plan on making that sundress pattern pretty soon so come on why don’t you make it with me and we’ll do a Collab! Have a happy weekend and get a lot of sewing done❤❤
Love those shifts dresses up here in the southern part of Virginia. We can wear them year round. Sometimes just the dress, then with a cardigan or jacket, then a turtleneck cause we do sometimes get the snow. My son is in Fernandina Beach Florida. He says they have got a lot of rain also and many places flooded. Alligators have been spotted where they normally don’t come.
Yeah I can wear a shift dress all year too. The rains have been relentless. It brings all the critters out! SKEERED! My neighbors had a rattlesnake in their garage this week. Now Im paranoid! Have a great weekend!!❤
Of course!! I love growing my sewing friend community!!! What project are you working on right now? I always need more people to bounce ideas off of! !!!❤️
That shift dress is so cute, love the fabric too! I think you have the perfect fabric for your skirt/blouse given your climate. I especially love the brown print fabric. Can't wait to see what you make out if it. What is that you are wearing? Do u make it? if so, where did you get that cute fabric?? Thanks for the fun Trish! Hang in there with the exercise-it can only benefit you!
Aw thanks Dixy! This shirt is a RTW that I bought just to cut a pattern from it. Its a tie dye rayon. Im excited about making my skirt pattern. Praying for some cool air so I can enjoy it.❤❤❤great to hear from you!
Oh Trish you've used our fabric ❤❤ Do you know what? It's still in my stash I never ended up making something from it because we DID NOT have a Summer 😭 Now I want to make it so we can be distant twins! Nancy from Running with Scissors recently sewed it up. Adorable Girls dresses. Hate to tell you Trish but the top pattern is an Adaptive pattern so it's designed for ease if you have a disability. They are such an awesome idea and have great designs. Just make them up as you wish. Loving your Winter projects, so cute. Xx
For some reason, I thought you went ahead and sold that fabric up, but now you have a reason to. I am loving the dress, but the neckline needs work. I didn’t realize that that shirt pattern wasn’t adaptive pattern so I can just have my way with it, I really want to get that skirt set made because I think that would be so cute and I think instead of wearing it with a cardigan I’m gonna take that plaid fabric and make a cute vest. Hugs to all the family and thanks for popping in. love you.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi girlie! Sounds like you have some great ideas on sewing. I liked all your dresses. Yes I know it's frustrating when you try and do the exercising everyone says you're supposed to be doing and you can't lose a simple ounce of weight. I've been there done that, but I try try again and again. I know being a woman and being older just fights against me. It was so nice seeing you today!
Thank you so much! The exercise and lack of results is so frustrating isnt it?! I agree age has so much to do with it. I refuse to give up now that I have momentum. If nothing else, its good for my heart, blood pressure, and my brain.
I think I was with you and Carole when you got that red print - and it's so cute! Perfect dress for it. You could cut down that neckline and have bias tape back on it in an hour. Love love love the plaid for the skirt! So cute! That room of yours is so nice. I look at it and think 'if I had that room, I'd be in there every day.' What a treat. I'm swimming too - pool hair today so no #FS - technical difficulties 😂 Love love love you. Get down here.
Jen you know Im a Lazy sewist, but I might fix that neck someday. If you could see how messy this sewing room is right now, you would die. I have to be in Charleston Oct 3-8, but after that I have no plans to be gone, so maybe I can get down there before the holidays hit. Miss you so much!!! Hugs n hugs n hugs❤❤❤❤❤
That skirt is gonna be sooooo cute! Scoop that neck right out lol 😂 I dunno why that made me giggle. So nice to see your lovely face pop up on a Friday sews Trishy! ☺️😘
Ok, so I love the pantsuit, long dress, n short ones. All cute for u… I like the sleeveless-blouse also. The mushroom fabric would make a cute apron…anyways, enjoy the wkend.
I love the pant suit too! If the dress goes well maybe I will try the pantsuit!! I adore the fall fabric too. Hard to decide what to do with it. Thanks for the ideas!!!❤❤
There are NO buttons down the back of Simplicity 9579! If you will notice on the front of the pattern, it reads “Adaptive”. It is a pattern for someone who may have physical disabilities, or live in a nursing home, etc. Notice on the back that instead of buttons it is made for Velcro and the buttons are only a cover-up!
Thanks for the encouragement that I’m not lazy, but I think the truth is I am lazy L O L! Things have slowed on the Tennessee house because we are having trouble finding a viable lot in the neighborhood. We are searching a lot of the lots have bedrock or cliffs, and we don’t want to deal with either of those, so our builder is searching hard for a good stable lot that he can clear easily, I will be going back up there probably right after Christmas to look at a few more lots that he has found, but we are still going when the time is right. I am not a giant hurry. I so enjoy my son and grandson at this time in their lives and not in a rush to leave them behind if it takes a few years, that’s fine with me. Thank you so much for popping in happy sewing and happy weekend.❤❤❤❤
You don't have to put all those button holes down the back. Maybe just put one or two at the top and then just sew the buttons down the placket. Your skirt has a knife edge pleats and they are not going to stay sharp in that fabric unless you Stitch down the fold or use a different fabric inside the pleat. your skin is not going to be that pink in the winter when you're wearing that top. I'm sure it will be fine the winter light is so much duller it's nice to have color. Keep swimming it's good for your mental health if nothing else. The pools here in Missouri close Labor Day one at the Y is only 3 ft deep! Oy.
Thanks for the info on the knife pleats. Maybe I will consider sewing them like you mentioned. Im definitely not going to do all the buttons on that blouse. Seems like it would hurt to lean back on them. Thanks for all the insight! ❤️
Thanks for the pep talk. I need the encouragement! It’s been difficult, but I am sticking to my regimen. Hopefully I will start seeing a different soon.❤️
I didn't find that scheduled exercise helped with weight loss at all. There just aren't enough calories burned, even in 1 to 2 hours a day. The only time I lost weight through exercise alone was when I lived in the city and walked everywhere I went, along with having a physical job, so I was in perpetual motion, or when I've been living at home on the farm, physically working steadily, the entire day. Yes, there is some toning involved in scheduled exercise, but as we get older (and I'm the same age as you), even that gets less with exercise. It's still good for you, but it doesn't give the results people assume it does.
Amen to that! I have to get to a level of acceptance about my weight and not beat myself up about it. The swimming will have to wnd when fall comes so I may takw ip power walking at that point.❤️

I'm with you on invisible zips but I can sew a centered zip beautifully, so thats what I do! Very easy.
Thats pretty much what I do with zips too. Im just happy to get it in there and working!❤
The skirt and fabric is perfect! Love that shift dress pattern too!
Thanks Carmen! Hope you are back at the sewing machine soon!!❤
The shift dress is so pretty! I love the fabric! 🥰
Thank you! 😊 it was nice quality for Hobby Lobby.❤️
I almost bought that fabric, just love it.. need to work on stash before I buy more

A beautiful dress for my beautiful friend! Can’t wait for you to be “up north” permanently! 🤩😘💗
We will have so much fun!!

The New Look 6500 would be great for the teen dresses for Dress a Girl or Little Dresses for Africa. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thats a great idea Mary! It would be quick and easy!❤️

Cute fabrics and pattern pairings, Trish! Maybe it’s time for another collab with the Fab Five! 😘
Yes! Fab five need to get back to work on a new collab! I will bring this up to them!! Our fans are asking for it!!❤

Do you have a favorite V neck dress??
I wish I sis. I want to make a v neck. I need to search my pattern stash. Do you have a fave?
Did you make any adjustments to the shift dress.
I made two adjustments 1) lowered the neck 2) lowered the bust darts. Thats it!❤

Oh cool! I need to check that out more closely! Thats awesome that they make patterns like that! Thank you!!
You're not lazy, you just want comfortable. I won't wear buttons up the back. How's the house coming in Tennessee?
Thanks for the encouragement that I’m not lazy, but I think the truth is I am lazy

Keep up your workout schedule. Exercise builds muscle and tones the body. You'll see reduction when you measure yourself not necessarily on the scale.
