Hi Theresa. What yummy fabrics and plans! One caution on the Blanca flight suit (or any jumpsuit that's fitted with a long zipper down the front): to get in and out of them, you have to move your shoulders back quite a bit once you get the pants part on. Even before I had neck and shoulder problems, I hated these when I had to wear them for work because of that awkward and painful contortion to get in and out of them. It might be especially difficult in a non-stretch corduroy since it's both a hefty fabric and a grippy fabric in terms of sticking to itself or whatever else you want to wear with it. My favorite of the fabrics you shared is the rayon twill floral with the rust background. That would be the one I'd be wanting to sew up first. I can't wait to see how fantastic all your projects turn out, Antonia
@@mmills5951Wow. That's a little rude. Sometimes people caution in case it's something others may have an issue with. It's only a caution. Not telling her what to do.
I have this pattern and am thinking I’ll make it this autumn too - that’s a valid thought about using fabric with a bit of give, to help getting it on and off. Much appreciated from my point of view!
Thank you SO MUCH for all the fabric descriptions!! Oh how I appreciate it! I am purchasing alot more online and I get so stumped for descriptions that actually MEAN something. You are a godsend ❤
What a wonderful fall wardrobe you will have when you get everything sewn up. Love your floral twill! The color wouldn’t suit me but is definitely in your favorite color scheme. Can’t wait to see all the pretty clothes.
I can see you rocking the Blanca in that gorgeous fabric! Can’t wait to see. Beautiful plans. I love your idea of a drapey Cameron shirt - might copy you now I have the pattern too! 😄
I love everything you’re planning to make, especially the jumpsuits and the floral button up. I’m just planning to make some basics since that’s what I seem to be needing right now. White tshirt and turtleneck, caramel turtleneck and a navy boatneck or scoop neck 3/4 sleeve knit top.
Your color coordination skills are really on point. You are adding some great choices to your wardrobe mix and match capabilities. Love your “suit” idea! Also, on my screen that floral looks good for you.
All your fabric choices are gorgeous! I'm intrigued as to how the floral jumpsuit mashup will work 😊 As for that floral fabric with the dark background and pink flowers, OMG it's so beautiful! 😍 It will make a knockout shirt! I can't wait to see all your plans come to fruition! 😊
I much prefer the lower neckline of the puffy sleeve blouse. Look forward to your mashup jumpsuit. The first one I ever made (back in the 70s😂) was a mashup of favorite pants and top. Nice, beautiful, fabric choices. I’m making Cashmerette’s Harrison, a little loose and out a a viscose right now. A little more work but I just love it. I look foreword to your makes video on these.
We've clearly got a similar look in mind with the shirts. I hope your Harrison is perfect! I think I'll probably go midway between these necklines for the jumpsuit. Drapey fabric can hang a bit, and I don't want it to end up too low.
Those are beautiful autumn plans and fabrics. Looking forward to seeing them all. I especially like the floral viscose twill, such gorgeous colours and they really suit you.
I love the bibs in the floral shirt pic, it would be fun to make a detachable bib for those trousers. I love the corduroy fabric so, so much. Can’t wait to see the results.
Loving your autumn plans and your fabrics are lovely. If you’d also like an alternative to the Helen’s Closet shirt, I can recommend the Pattern Emporium All In Shirt, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed making. I’ll be making lots more of those.
Good day Theresa I'm currently sewing pietra pants in olive green my first attempt..looking promising ..I can't wait to see yours all finished ..I love your shirt fabric it will look fabulous...thank you for sharing and keep up the good work..xo❤
Love the sound of the mashup jumpsuit in the fabric you chose, I think it will look amazing. Also love the other fabrics you chose & the viscose for the shirt pattern is so pretty. With regard to the trouser fabric matching with the jacket you already make - that should look fine. Just finished sewing twelve dresses for Project Dress a Girl 2024 so feeling a bit shattered as most were lined. However, have cut out - Tilly’s pjs + need to look at patterns for jersey/sweater tops & a relaxed fit jacket. The one you made Heather jacket is an option, will see. Thank you, great video & look forward to seeing the blouse & trousers made, to go with the jacket you already have. Will make a great outfit.😊
I really enjoy these previews that you do. I am in a overalls and pinafores kick, so I totally understand you wanting a jumpsuit, especially with all those pockets! I love the colors and prints you have chosen for your projects. I didn't get all my summer sewing done! Argh! Actually, the issue has been that my sewing room is upstairs and it doesn't have a/c. FYI we're having temperatures in the high 90s this week! Hottest October in decades! We'll be fixing that next year, but I am not in a fall or winter sewing mood yet.
Great plans! It will be fun to see them sewn up. I got some grey herringbone flannel from Core Fabrics for a shirt but am on the fence whether to sew a Cameron or the Jenna shirt. I'd size up/down to have about the same fit either way. The Cameron is a classic, but I've heard raves about the construction techniques used in the Jenna, so I'm leaning that way.
I love the fabric you have for your drapey shirt. I actually think the colours will look great on you. I am also having a 'shirt' moment, having made quite a few recently. The latest was the Seneca shirt by French Navy Patterns. For the next one I am looking at the Lucette shirt by Camimade Patterns as I love the neckline on it. You have definitely sparked my interest though in doing a drapey shirt. I think I may well try this too as I love the inspiration pictures that you showed.
Excited to see your plans! I'm mid-Blanca right now - slightly struggling with fit, but probably my own fault for starting with the 0-20, when I'm a busty 14-16! For toile #2, I'm using the larger range, and the print out already looks better/is easier to adjust. And Pietra is next in my pile!
Thanks for sharing your plans! I'm drawn to the orangey-rust floral fabric too. I'm finishing up some summer plans (a double-gauze blouse) but I'm planning on making some PJ pants for my husband (long overdue) and then get into Fall sewing. First up, a Closet Core Crew Rose blouse in a liberty print lawn in soft grey-ish mauve, greens, and greys, with some Pietra pants (I bought the pattern after you had a good experience with it.) in a dark green hemp fabric. The colors go together to make an outfit. I've also been debating which of the Pietra pants silhouettes to go with: I like wide-legged pants, but the Rose blouse is quite voluminous so I'm thinking the tapered view would be a better balanced silhouette (and I have less of this shape in my closet). I have the Cameron shirt planned for my husband at some point. I'll be curious to see how it works for you.
Super plans! The jumpsuit mashup fabric is awesome for that project. Love the suit idea too. I think you are right about the slimmer trousers with the oversized jacket. The boiler suit will be really cool. If you do the short sleeved version, you can always layer a long sleeved T under it for warmth.
So much to love here with these plans! The floral blouse will be absolutely gorgeous!! I cannot wait to see your flightsuit! It’s an incredible pattern
This is exciting! I feel the same way around seasonal changes. My studio is done (months!) and I am just finishing getting it organized so I will be able to get back into playing with fabric and/or paint soon!
Super plans! Lovely colours too. The jumpsuit mashup sounds fab. The narrow Pietras have a different fit through the hip and thigh to the shorts.....fell a cropper to this in the past ! I'm going to try and get my thelma made up in a soft green denim.....
Your mashup jumpsuit will be so cute! I was thinking when you were speaking of the blouse portion how much I’d like to see it in pinwale cord. I have a couple of light pinwale shirts and they are a nice compromise between structure and flow. The ¾ length version of your blouse would be really autumn friendly in the right pinwale.
That looks the exact chord which I am going to be making a jacket from. .. Can't remember the company name. The one who designed the Chanterelle Pants. I think it's the Sylvan Jacket, him length, which I'm making. Lining it with a Robert Kaufman flannel check, I'll choose something slippy to line the sleeves
I am really into jumpsuits too, only I don’t have any yet, 😮hard to find…I Love yr blue j/suit, N OHH LALA love that rust fabric…my vote is short sleeve…
Love that viscose floral in dark navy background paired with your rose colored linen blend. Can you tell me the names of those two fabrics? I can't seem to find them on Lamazi fabrics
The viscose was called Elegant Blooms. I got it back in May, and I think it's gone. The trouser fabric is Sorona Linen in Windsor wine lamazifabrics.com/products/sorona-linen-in-windsor-wine-new-eco-linen-blend-fabric?_pos=7&_sid=830abe782&_ss=r They have it in other colors if you search Sorona Linen. It's on sale, too!
Those are Ecco brand. I got them quite a few years ago, so I don't see them currently available. They may have something similar though, and likely more options in the summer.
Hi Theresa......I just wanted to comment on your colour choices....and I do hope you take this in the way it is intended, which is to have you looking as lovely as you are...pllease dont be offended. All of the pink tones, blues and lilacs, shown on your video look really lovely against your colouring. Which leads me to think that you suit cool tones the best. The warm orange tones dont look nearly as good against your natural colouring, making your cheeks look redder. It might be that the video doesnt show your skin tones perfectly....and also, lots of others may disagree, this is just my opinion. Hope my comments are taken in the way i intended them 😊😊 keep sewing and posting xxx x
Have to disagree with you here. I do have cooler colouring and that means tones suit me that are not in the range of pinks blues and lilacs that Theresa wears. The reason they suit her is because she chooses the tones very wisely so that they are warmer versions of blue, lilac and pink. Those would totally wash me out. There are versions of those colours I can wear but they aren’t the versions that suit Theresa so well.
Thanks, I'm not offended, but I don't agree. I just pick colors that I like, so I'm not too worried about it, either way. I mention colors that have worked/not worked for me in the past, but I what matters most to me is how I feel in something. I think we should all sew and wear what makes us happy!
I'm so excited to see all of these plans made up! It's wonderful to see your clear style vision slowly but surely coming together.
And I'm sure it will continue to evolve. I'm looking forward to tapping into the inspiration!
