I take the cap off because sometimes I have issues with paint build up on the end of the needle and it's easier to remove the excess paint with the cap off. Hopefully this answers your question.

Do natural colors sometimes if able? Maybe a greenish shade. I’m from Alabama, and green does well here, especially Smith and it’s spots. Thanks
