In today's video I show you the steps to paint a simple but deadly craw pattern on 2 different types of crank baits. Using everything you learned from the previous introduction to painting video, and with a lot of practice of course, I think this paint job should be achievable for most!

I’ve seen a lot of guys make separate channels and it never seems to work out. I reckon it spreads them “To thin.” Pretty cool stuff, I would never wanna do it but cool to watch.

I’ve been an automotive painter for about 25 years now and started airbrushing when I was about 12, nice work and solid advice. I’m pleased to see you recommend the Iwatas. I have several and they are smooth. I love these painting videos and am looking forward to seeing more.

I love your DYI video's on painting these lures that you make look so easy and awesome! You do have a talent for this. What brand of air brush are you using? You might have said in your first video but I might have missed it. I've been looking at a few different ones but just not sure. Awesome job man!!! I would like to see the colors burgundy and black used for clear water visibility!

I found these videos a little late. Man, that is a sick looking craw. You and a couple other TH-camrs have me wanting to try my hand at painting my own baits. I bet there is no better feeling than catching a big ol slaunch donkey on a self-painted bait.

I just recently started getting into this and your 1st video helped out tremendously !! Here is some feedback and a couple questions.
1st, great tip on the coupons. I signed up for Michael's rewards program and they send me 60% and 40% coupons weekly. With the 60%, I was able to get my airbrush for close to $60. I was also able to go and build up my paint selection using those 40% coupons fairly quickly.
For the compressor, I went to harbor freight with a 25% coupon I received in the paper and got one for close to $25.
I did have to go on to Amazon to get the "reducer".
I couldn't find the epoxy you mentioned in the last video, but I am going to try the "Plasti Dip". Where did you find it?
Also, have you ever tried using "acrylic sealer" ??? It was a spray that the hobby store had.

I’ve been thinking about starting to make my own soft plastics and paint my own hard baits and I think you just sold me on doing it. Looks fun and I’d love to see what i can come up with and catch with my own creations. Great artistic skills Milliken
Ben, have you tried KBS Diamond Coat to clear coat baits? It does not require mixing and dries super hard. It would be good for those crawdad type baits that you'll be bumping off of cover a lot. Nice job those were good looking baits.

Great pattern. Is the plasti-dip worm proof??? Cuz at the end of the day I “may” have a pile of stuff on the deck and have had some worms burn through some finishes that I have tried in the past. Maybe while you are freezin your butt off you could just do a pattern of the month vid ?

How long did your plasti-dip idea hold up? I know with using it on other things over time it will fade and rub or start to peel away. I’m really curious how well it holds up to getting banged around by fish and rocks under water

have you tried the createx clear coats? they have gloss, satin, and matte finish. looks like the optimal clear coat.
