Thank you Dan! You posted this 6 years ago, the info is still helping people today. You taught me of the screw-in pistons and the wind back too, new to me, I always used a big C-clamp to press in the piston. No wonder it did not work. Duh.
Happy to hear my video was helpful!
Take care,
-Dan
Man ,Awesome Video , probably one of if not the best at explaining everything, great job.
Dan - this video is EXCELLENT! Great camera angle; clear and articulate instructions; easy to understand. I'm not a mechanic. You've saved me a ton of 'labor' costs. Thank you! (new subscriber from NY state)
Got the tool for rear brakes today. Absolutely worth it. Made it so easy to collapse the calipers. Thanks for the tip
Great video! Had my brakes changed in less than an hour, and for only about $20! Thanks Dan!
Thx Jason,
Glad to hear my video helped you out!
Take care,
-Dan
Great video. I'm actually doing this very same job in the morning. Thanks Dan for the tips.
Thanks doing my brakes in the morning
Thanks. I know how to do them. But with 1 van I like a refresher course before I start. That way when I get out there I know exactly what I need to get done. Way faster this way.
This was one of the best detailed video that I've seen. Very informative. Thank You Dan. Frank
Thanks for the nice comment Frank!

Great video. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing!
Replaced the brakes did not realize the piston twisted, I opened the B.F. cap and even open the bleeder to double make sure fluid was not being pushed and compressed the caliper as you usually would. Is there a high chance of damage being caused from this?
I sheared off a slide pin, like an idiot, where would a guy find a replacement?
Dan the fix it man how do I realease the emergency cable from the caliper?
Hi Jasmina,
I didn't remove the cable from the caliper when just changing the rear brake pads, if you need to change the calipers, there's another video on TH-cam that shows how to remove the caliper (and the emergency cable from the caliper). Here's a link: th-cam.com/video/SbkIK_ZRBRM/w-d-xo.html
Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for watching!

You CV an also rent this tool from autozone or napa
Would I need to bleed the brakes when I do this?
No, not if you don’t open the brake bleeder it’s not necessary.
@@DantheFixitMan thank you
I changed my sisters and ran into this for the first time. Just used some angled pliers
#napaautoparts send him sil glide!
Haha thanks!
the stuff helps I dont care what nobody says.
I hate chrysler. Why... Just... Why?
because Chrysler customers like to buy head gaskets and new parking brake mechanism and wants to say, i got good fit, never realize honda ,toyota these things die with cars.
