Born in 82 so the 80's will always be the magical place of my first 8 years... I came of age in the 90's but 80's were home to my purest childhood wonder. I never get tired of it, and I've missed it for decades.....
Born in '66, the 80's were totally my jam, but I never once experienced an empty mall. 80's malls were frothy, exuberant, crowded spaces filled with denim and lace, Duran Squared and Madonna, late of Devo and Blondie, and just shy of Eurythmics and The Cranberries, and my God, every minute was Manna & Ambrosia. The 80's were the kind of party that happens once, and can never, ever be experienced again. I'm glad I was there, and I will never, ever regret it.
80s and even the 90s, magical era.. There sadly hasn't been any decade after those, that has produced an entire culture with music, art, fashion, video games and even many movies, that everyone still loves.. Social media is about the biggest thing and there are great aspects to it, but at the same time, I think it's ruined a lot of things, made people quite mean and nasty towards each other, even dumber sadly.. Though as an artist/creator (comic/video games), I love how technology of today, has made creating and getting your stuff out there easier. We'll have another great time I think, won't be as awesome as the 80s and 90s, but it will be cool.
Yeah first time ever experiencing an empty mall was 2020 (but I’m sure that’s most of us). It’s slowly improving again, but still sadly not as great and bustling as it was before. It was THE place to be 😭
Born in late 1977, so a true child of the 80s, and this was just me hanging out with my older half-brothers when my dad had them for the weekends and took us all to the arcade.
i was a fall of 1987 baby, so i caught the latter part of this era. being a 90s kid was awesome. malls were the perfect place to hang out at back then.
We had it great, and I hope you feel similarly about your era. Nobody gets to pick when they're born, but everybody can choose to appreciate their present moment. :)

Yes! Especially during the holidays! You wanted to stay and make a day of it. Now its so depressing to me when I remember how great they used to be. I just try to get in and out as quickly as possible.
The ambiance of the 80s is timeless, casting an everlasting spell that transcends generations. Its allure and distinctive essence persist, encapsulating a particular energy and cultural aesthetic that continues to captivate and influence across the years. The nostalgia and unique vibe from that era remain eternally embedded, consistently evoking a sense of fond remembrance and fascination.
There was no time like the late 70s-early 90s. It's really a feeling that words cannot describe. It was about hope, fun, unity and looking forward to a future that never transpired. People were connected in person because there was really nothing to keep us apart, unlike today. At least we can have rad tunes like these to bring us back.
Im an 80s child and I can tell you that it was the greatest decade in human history to grow up in. I saw Star Wars for the first time .... a totally different experience than Star Wars today. When we saw it we were just kids riding bikes and playing in the woods.... no Nintendo, no awesome special effects... every monster on tv had a fake rubbery mask, etc... so when Star Wars came our minds were blown! We'd never seen anything even close to it. Kids nowadays complain that the characters are not gay enough. I also remember plying Pong for the first time. wow! What is this witchcraft?! Soon after Atari came out and that started the days of kids staying in all day playing video games. Before that, we built tree houses and played baseball. Space Invaders opened my mind to quantum physics. I thought..space?! What the hell is space?! Infinity?! Every new product in the 80s was mind blowing. I also remember the ridiculous hair and fashion. The 80s was a time when fashion became very individualized. Anything goes type of attitude. I was all about ripped jeans and spiking my hair up. Food also tasted different... few people talk about this. 80s food was great,,, even McDonalds was pretty good back then believe it or not... and I'm very picky. Food was still fresh and not too processed. Nowadays, I can't go to restaurants or buy 90% of food in grocery stores. It's terrible. And I mean terrible. I haven't a a good chocolate cake in 35 years I swear. Black kids and white kids use to play ball together and there was never any mention of race. We were just friends. There was way more unity back then. The toys were awesome.... G I. Joe, Transformers, Spiderman, Atari, BMX bikes, He Man, Care Bears, Smurfs, ..... most of the culture of today is built on my childhood... the 80s. Movies were so good.... Dune, Tron, Goonies, Legend, Blade Runner, Aliens, Back To the Future, even Disney movies were fun. Music was epic.... David Bowie, GNR, Metallica, the Police, Sting, Prince, Michael Jackson, the list is endless. Thank you God for the 80s!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories of the 80s! It sounds like it was a special time for you, full of new experiences and exciting discoveries. It's amazing how the things we experience during childhood can shape our perspective on the world, and it's clear that the 80s had a significant impact on your life. It's great to hear how you found joy in simple things like playing outside and riding bikes, and how you appreciated the uniqueness of 80s fashion and culture. And of course, the music, movies, and games of that era continue to have a lasting influence on pop culture today. Thanks for taking the time to share your memories! I feel absolutely honored!! Thank you!😌
I was born in the late 80's but I totally feel the same way about the 90's just the whole retro games and commercial culture along with analog horror we see today, glad that some of it can take me back a bit, but I do hate that bit of an ache nostalgia instils in me. I don't doubt we are going to see the same with 2000's kids here in a few years start to stem up
I was born in '92 and was a total 90s/Myspace era kid, but I've always been so drawn to the magical allure of the 80s, a time period I will never intimately know, yet dream of so often.
Same here. '92. Obviously I had a kid's lens on but I do miss those times and to this day, still seem to have a draw to a period I never even experienced.
I was born in the mid 80s, glad to have lived through this era. You cant truly appreciate this if you didnt live the 80s and 90s and didn't go through those malls so many years ago.
Thankfully there's still some malls from way back when that are still up so you can get a taste of if👍 Not exactly of course but you get an idea Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!☺

I had the privilege of being a teenager in the 80's...I savored the ambience and magic of the malls back there...the game Arcades , the toy stores that were packed real toys and figures from star wars, JI JOe, Transformers figures, Cabbage Patch kids etc, ....the food courts filled with vegetation and quarry tile floor finishes...the smell of hot dogs from Orange Julius...God I miss it so much

there are some malls in Tijuana (Baja Mexico) that still have some 80 fixtures, even faux trees and plants I guess kind of tropical vibes lol oh and the colors! nothing like the 80s malls! amazing memories!
I was born in the 90's but my area was a little behind the times. I remember seeing seeing Neon malls for a little bit, and arcades were around for longer. I really wish I could have been there during their peak tough because they were a bit aged at the time. It was such a cool place to be, and the ambiance was so cool. At least with VR I can kinda experience it again.
The music in this video is absolutely fantastic! It captures the mood perfectly and enhances every visual moment, creating a seamless and immersive experience. The choice of tracks is impeccable, making the entire viewing experience more engaging and memorable. Each piece complements the visuals beautifully, adding depth and emotion. Truly a brilliant selection that showcases the creator's excellent taste in music and attention to detail.
I listened to this for 17 minutes before realizing it was the same song looping over and over again. Then I listened to it for 32 more minutes because the song totally slaps.
I regularly boot this video up before I begin work on my computer. I usually only break out of the trance when the video ends, after 4+ hours. It's a great productivity hypnotism. :D
Nice! Born in 73', I grew up in the local malls. Sam Goody, Waldenbooks, Spencers, arcade, movie theatre, Kay Bee Toys. In my local mall there was a duck pond! As a young boy I would try to get close to them to give them a pet LOL Long live Mall Culture! This video and music has a Depeche Mode/Stranger Things vibe for sure!

@@Sounds_of_Ambience Big Box stores and shopping websites killed the malls and everything that was fun about them. Digital tech made analog tech too slow and cumbersome to deal with. I guess being lazy is supposed to somehow be better than getting up off your butt to go out into the world and actually experience anything? That's why malls are now just places with dirty food courts where sloppy looking people go to buy designer clothes and fancy cookware - only there because they couldn't find it online and were forced to leave home to get what they wanted. It's sad, really. 😔 I still prefer to do as much of my shopping as I can in person and use cash to pay for it... the old ways are still the best ways, in my opinion.
I grew up in this time and yes no internet or cell phones made all the difference. There was magic in the 80s but as someone who grew up in the time as a teen graduating high school I must also say not everything was so good and happy. If you offered me a chance to do it over absolutely yes just because of no internet!
This music is so awesome, and the visuals so AMAZING and varied that it's easy to forget that this video has only one music track playing for the entire runtime!
There is an image deeply printed into my mind of a anime-mall retro look with a slight blueish-white filter. 2 floors with escalators and the middle part is open so you can look down. I must have seen it somewhere, but i can’t remember where. I don’t think i will ever let that picture go unless i see it somewhere. Can’t count the late night/early morning hours i spent searching for it on the web.
Being a whittle kid in the 80s where fun times. My mother didn't do much Mall shopping unless around the Holidays. But anytime there was special events going on my Grandmother and Aunts went shopping! I remember especially during the Summer times, getting out of the car with Valor Seats and going into a nice cool building with carpet on the floors and lamps on the Glass Counters. And Mannequins look like Scary Art Pieces that would come to life like from the movie Poltergeist II. They were always in Upscale stores like Macy's, Lord & Taylor and John Wanamaker's etc. Perfumes and 80s Sequins Dresses that as a little Boy would make you sick 😄. Hated back then, but have Nostalgia of those days I wish I could go back. Cool thing, I'm turning 41 and Grandmother 100 , and I still have conversations about those days. Byron... Love your words man. 80s was EVERYTHING! For me... just crossing into adolescence & later, hitting early adulthood. MUSIC WAS MY DRUG & ANTI-DRUG and still iz. Still dancing, doing stuff today I had no idea I'd be doing. Yeah back then some of us lil newly teenage girls still ran & played football and wore Jordache Jeans to school. 😂😂😂 The mall & the park were everything. We had conversations with each other. So awkward with a boy but it helped you develop people skills. I wouldn't trade being that awkward, funny-looking, 1st generation video game-addict, nerdy, good-hearted girl I was for anything. Well... EXCEPT to be Irene Cara 😢💔💖 & go to PAHS in NYC and dance on top of a yellow taxi.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful memories with us!! I love hearing about the past and how many people felt about a certain era in time☺ I hope you have a wonderful day!!😊👍
I was a 90's teen so I came late to the game, but the malls were still super vibrant at that time. Sad these kids won't ever get to experience the mall, getting a girls or boys #, getting those expensive shoes you wanted (because you certainly couldn't order them from the internet), the food courts. The vibe was exciting, never know what could happen at the mall at that time. just the whole situation was something unique to it's time and place. Glad I got to experience it!
What's funny is that my parents were both teenagers in the 80's who loved to hang around the mall. When I sent this to them they said it annoys the hell out of them because it sounds like the recording is skipping and it tricks their brain into thinking the music is going to stop.

@@Sounds_of_Ambience Ooooh I haven't heard of "Stabilizers" but the other three i have my ears on for sure.. so cool. In my case it's "a-ha" from the 80s as they also own the greatest hit song from that decade called 'Take On Me' till date (still rocking). Very futuristic and ahead of it's time. It's about to reach 2B very soon and it makes me wonder how these guys have managed to be creatively potent even now as they've dropped their new album the previous year. Incredibly insane. Their lyrics and music is very eclectic and has evolved over time in my opinion. They haven't been as much popular in the U.S. as in Europe I suppose. And my current synth champs are obviously the duo from L.A. "The Midnight". Amazing blend of lyrical poetry and neon retro sounds. Marriage of two different worlds. To your notice I haven't suggested you any of their song coz' I thought you already know of them. They are the ruling party in the town🙂

Can you believe I’ve listened to this entire video at least 4 times
Thank you so much!!!
There was no time like the late 70s-early 90s. It's really a feeling that words cannot describe. It was about hope, fun, unity and looking forward to a future that never transpired. People were connected in person because there was really nothing to keep us apart, unlike today. At least we can have rad tunes like these to bring us back.
Synthwave's atmosphere is impressive and eternal love to me is great 😊😊😊
Im an 80s child and I can tell you that it was the greatest decade in human history to grow up in.
Thank you!😌
Agreed, the best decade in human history is right. It was also the most magical up until about 1985 ❤
Funny reading through this comment going, "Yep....yep...me too....yeah...uh huh....agreed....yep...oh yeah....yes....
I was born in the late 80's but I totally feel the same way about the 90's just the whole retro games and commercial culture along with analog horror we see today, glad that some of it can take me back a bit, but I do hate that bit of an ache nostalgia instils in me. I don't doubt we are going to see the same with 2000's kids here in a few years start to stem up
@@FuzzyImages Yeah just a matter of time when we see the "2000s" show up. Crazy how time just flies!

Thank you for stopping by and checking out the video!! I really appreciate it!!😊👍
I was born in '92 and was a total 90s/Myspace era kid, but I've always been so drawn to the magical allure of the 80s, a time period I will never intimately know, yet dream of so often.
Agreed, seems like a dream and what a time to experience
Same here. '92. Obviously I had a kid's lens on but I do miss those times and to this day, still seem to have a draw to a period I never even experienced.
I like to imagine me in the 80s first time ever inside of a mall, checking out the at the time brand new technology they got on display.

Thank you!! Glad to hear it!! :)
I had the privilege of being a teenager in the 80's...I savored the ambience and magic of the malls back there...the game Arcades , the toy stores that were packed real toys and figures from star wars, JI JOe, Transformers figures, Cabbage Patch kids etc, ....the food courts filled with vegetation and quarry tile floor finishes...the smell of hot dogs from Orange Julius...God I miss it so much
I can literally feel the 80s energy through the music and screen 📺 I’m a 1978 baby and the 80s was my best childhood life ever, the video is amazing ❤
That is absolutely amazing and wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for telling me☺ I have another video similar to this coming out next week! I hope you like it🤩👍 Also I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!☺
I’m an ‘87 baby :) early childhood was in the 90s for me. This brings lots of good memories and nostalgia. ❤
I really like this beat. Not to loud, not too quiet, not too upbeat, not too slow. Just right! Goldilocks! 😄

there are some malls in Tijuana (Baja Mexico) that still have some 80 fixtures, even faux trees and plants I guess kind of tropical vibes lol oh and the colors! nothing like the 80s malls! amazing memories!
Sounds really cool!!! A sight to see!! Thank you for sharing!🤩👍

It was a very cool teenage experience, although I ironically remember wishing that I could have also experienced the 50s while living in the 80s....
Even though I know the colors aren't "accurate", the vibe totally is.

I still prefer to do as much of my shopping as I can in person and use cash to pay for it... the old ways are still the best ways, in my opinion.
I grew up in this time and yes no internet or cell phones made all the difference. There was magic in the 80s but as someone who grew up in the time as a teen graduating high school I must also say not everything was so good and happy. If you offered me a chance to do it over absolutely yes just because of no internet!
love it
Thank you! I appreciate it!!🤩
This music is so awesome, and the visuals so AMAZING and varied that it's easy to forget that this video has only one music track playing for the entire runtime!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!!😊👍
There is an image deeply printed into my mind of a anime-mall retro look with a slight blueish-white filter.
She laughs and says " You still remember that" Thanks for posting this Background 80s Mall Sounds.

Just wanted to say that I agree with all of you, good times will never fade ❤ 80s eternal ❤

Which is your favorite retrosynth music band from the 80s and the one you admire the most in the present synthwave scene?
@@AdityaSingh-hs6tg9vu3u Hmmm... let me see🤔 On the top of my head:
Stablizers, When in Rome, Flock of Seagulls and Bananarama😎
What are yours?
