I remember going to my uncle's office in 1996/1997/1998 he was a manager at the Best Western hotel chain. He had an old MS Dos enabled IBM PC and I used to play the alien invader on it and then just type all sort of crap on to the terminal and mess up his work. He'd always reset it. That was the time when I fell in love with computers and tech which would enable me to persue the I.T field in my adult life. Miss you unc, you were a real hero!
Reading the comments, seeing different world's of strongly projected emotions still hits hard. We may be three decades into the future but we can feel, smell and live it through our minds. Cherish each moment you're in and make the most of it! Being alive is a blessing.
Mom just passed this year, but before that I went into a second hand store she used to go to in the 80s/90s. The store is set up in pods or sections, it looks like a museum of the 70s/80s. I saw a wall phone, pea green, on a wall papered wall, I almost started balling. I am a middle aged man, but the feeling of being 12, with no computer, wall phones, weird 70/80 decor, came flooding back as if it was 1980 and parents were struggling to make it and just generally get by, just enjoying a simple moment like a game on TV or a dinner together. It was surreal.....
This video is reminding me of my father working the office grind as I grew up in the late 90s. Visiting his office in the evening while he's finishing up work, roaming the halls that I can still smell when I think back to it, drawing pictures on his whiteboard that he would later write "SAVE" next to so the cleaning crew didn't wipe them down. He had a stroke in '22 and I wish I could go back to these times so badly.
Sometimes I cry tears of nostalgia thinking about my brothers and being home with my parents. Ordering pizza on a Friday after school and renting a good movie. The lottery ❤
I was born February 9th 1992 in a little, old but peaceful corner of the world called Portugal. Life has been so gentle with me. I had some problems along the way, naturally but overall I'm thankful for what I have. I love my mom, dad and sister so much. Let’s see if I can bring a child to this planet to give him/her the love my parents gave and continue giving me since the fist day. I wish everyone here the best life has to offer with all my heart.
I miss a moment in time, idealized profoundly, because even though I lived it as a child, I don't really remember it except for moments here and there. its an idealization of a moment that never quite took place.
My dad was a banker here in Mexico so, i used to play with all the bank computers with Windows 95-98 lol using the chairs of all of te employees after hours , i miss u dad =(
I was 9 in 1992. I was having a rough time. It wasn’t easy for me that decade…and yet somehow I miss the vibe of the 90s so much. I used to stay up late on my dad’s Acorn Archimedes PC playing solitaire when everyone was asleep. Feeling the peace that only the night could offer.
feel you. I lived with my mom in a rather shabby district in a town in germany. My father had died before my birth in 89. there are many things that hurt back then. But still, the 90s offered something that should never return in the decades that followed. Even though lots of things changed for the better for me and my mom. the time was special
Chillin in my mom's office during the summer with a couple books I borrowed from the public library. Reading, getting sodas and snacks from the vending machine, and making photocopies. I grew up in my parents offices. Good times.
Remember 90's as a kids in France, 90's football poster in my older brother room with Cantona or Papin, typical leather sofa in the living room, our first computer back in 1996 playing some rayman, red alert and fifa 97 with my brother (and sometimes my father who was facinated by technology as he was working at HP in the 80's), in a cupboard where it was located, listening to Oasis, Ben Harper and Smashing Pumpkins on cassette tape and old CDs, the old family car, then our PS1 with tony hawk and metal gear solid, what a time !
The early 90s had a pretty big hangover of the 80s. I was born in 1997, but it's always interesting when you have nostalgia from a time of which you didn't exist
i am 2001 born kid, but somehow still felt this kind of vibe because this is how i used to see my dad work, even tho sometime he was called by the company at night for the servers maintenance
As a child, I always dreamed of becoming an artist. However, over time, my interest shifted toward computers, and now I work as an IT professional. But lately, I find myself growing distant from technology. My true passions lie in art, writing, and music. I often imagine what it would be like to spend my days sketching or crafting stories that others would love to read. Yet, I can't change my profession now. I have a family to support, and my responsibilities come first. Sometimes, I wonder if the invention of computers, mobile phones, and all the electronic gadgets we rely on today was a blessing or a curse. If these things had never existed, perhaps I would be creating art in my office or writing stories that touch hearts, instead of spending my days immersed in technology.
perhaps leverage AI , like chat gpt andart generators to faster create what you want? I understand if you don't like the suggestion, everybody is different thanks for sharing, yeah I think both a blessing and not a blessing
Things have changed a lot since then but deep down there is still a child in every single one of us! Do not let anyone squeeze the creativity out of you and tell you that you have to act like a robot 24/7.

i miss being a overpaid stock broker waiting for 9 PM on friday to pick up my blonde girl friend in my white porsche in 1998. We have reservations at the top of the world trade center.
sorry to nitpick, but the flat screen monitor on the desk at 15:00 would not exist in 1992. the vibe was big chunky monitors. The flat screen did not become popular till 2000s

Perfect . Waiting for my mom to finish up her work. Roaming the empty halls. We might get some Mickey ds on the way home. I miss her so much.
This is something you should be discussing with your family and close friends. Have a good day

Started college in ‘92. Such a great time to start adulthood and enjoy what the 90s had to offer. Miss you, dad!

Props to your Uncle

The 90s marked the beginning of the end. It was a beautiful, sad, exciting time all at once. God bless us all ❤
