really interested in those hv3 inserts.. last time i had checked i think they were out of stock and real pricey but i wonder how well it would pair with a turbo 3800
Can you educate me on what the fuck they are exactly? I'm new to the 3800 club but a veteran in car modding. They look like intake manifold spacers. I got the intake and just did the coil wires and plugs from zzp looking at the PCM and down pipe next but wondering wtf this is exactly
@@4g63tpowered They are basically a replacement for the stock intake runners that are inside the upper intake plenum. You get higher power from this because it drastically changes the air velocity and how it enters your engine, the stock runners are about 4 to 5 inches tall, the HV3 insert reduces that by about 3 inches. The taller the runners you get more low end power/torque like the stock runners. the HV3 is much shorter and has a smoother airflow so it pulls the top end of the power band up. They are out of stock from ZZP but there is a brand called khaos motorsports that sells what the call an HV4 insert. I have the HV4 by them paired with the GT2 rpm cam from zzp.

Hey did you feel an obvious change in power with the rockers? I'm not sure what to do just yet.
@@henrywashington4212 lol i didnt install anything on my car, just gathered the info from the video
The rockers have a higher ratio, and lift the valves further open. It's basically like putting a higher lift cam in. Achieves the same result 2 different ways
In less that 04 it still has cables
Hi ZZP team,
Nice video!
I have a question, Do you have a turbo kits for a grand-prix gxp? It would be insane with the ls4 engine!
Google the actual engine by it's engine code, then looks up mods for it specifically. That engine was in others cars too.
Now what about a 89 Series 1?
really interested in those hv3 inserts.. last time i had checked i think they were out of stock and real pricey but i wonder how well it would pair with a turbo 3800
@@HypebeastMajorities thanks Buddy!!
What HP do you recommend considering swapping/building a 4T65E trans for a built one? I’m around 300hp and 110k miles.
So, I have a 2006 Base model Grand Prix. I want to do some light modding to it, like you've mentioned in this video. I'm extremely new to the car scene and want to get my feet wet. Where can i get parts for it? What can i do to it? I seem to only be able to find parts for the V8 engine or the GXP model. Is there a forum for these cars? Thanks for the help.
Lucky for you, you can find all sort of parts for your Grand Prix if you go to our website, zzperformance.com. If you need some guidance or suggestions, reach out to us at customerservice@zzperformance.com.
Wonder if these will work well on the Series III V6, got a 2006 Base GP was looking to do some modding to it
That's what I've been looking into as well
Do they make a air induction that will fit a 96 firebird with 3.8.Also is a turbo kit available?
Have you found anything out? Just picked up a 2000 firebird!
Will these products work for the pre-series 1 or any recommendations for a 1989 buick 3800 fwd
get rid of the motorola ICM and go with the later Delco set up. reattaowner.com/roj/common-problems-a-solutions/replacing-magnavox-ignition-with-delco. Also you can install GEN III bosch injectors. larger exhuast piping , cold air kit. you can put a L67 supercharger or turbo charger but with the high compression of LN3 engine doesn't hold up.
I have a 2004 grand prix with the 3800 v6, I love cars but I'm ignorant when it comes to mechanics, recently I came into a C6 Corvette exhaust is there any way I could swap it for my stock exhausts on my GP? Anything helps
Lol, no
Hey man, HV3 is no longer available. What's going on with that ?
I believe they are redesigning it. Who knows when it'll be back.
Ok but what would you do to let's say a 98 firebird with the same motor
Hello, do you have a guide on how a tune would work? I am a novice and really wanted to rejuvenate my 2008 pontiac grand prix - its the v6 model. Does the tune in this video work on my model? Anything I need to install?
We do provide tuning support for the 2008 V6. Here is a link to our tuning page, If you have any questions email us at customerservice@zperformance.com.

What about the u bend delete ?
The u-bend in the stock downpipe is said to be one of the most restrictive areas on a 3800. A u-bend delete (or even a whole downpipe) will eliminate the restriction at that part of the exhaust, allowing it to run more freely and smoothly.
where the heck is the link to find the HV3...
Kinda vague about what it is :/
But I've already made a wish list on what I'm wanting for my '05 Series 3 3.8 grand prix :)
No link currently, it's in the re-design phase currently. Hopefully we can have it back on the site before the end of the year.

Do y’all have more information about about the equalizer down tube for the N/A 3800
I’ve been wondering how the redirected heat from the exhaust might affect the upper engine components by the intake tube and manifold
:)
I have a ‘98 Buick lesabre with 3800 series 2. Anyone modded a similar car/engine? How did it turn out?
Could you run the 1.65 zzp rockers with a cam even if it’s the same ratio
We would only recommend our 1.65 rockers with our VS or GT1 cam. Make sure to measure your push rod length.
Are you able to do the dod delete on the 05 grandprix GXP with the 5.3 im installing new cam and lifters doing away with the dod valve train
How much boost can a stock 3800 hold?
Probably don't care after 2 years but 10psi is safe. Anything after that and you're getting dodgy
@@knownbarkert6153 actually thank you I've been running 5psi on stock
How hard would it be?to swap my series 3 NA engine for a series 3 Supercharged engine?or am i better off putting together a custom turbo kit?
Will these pcm update reduce how hard these 4t65e trans shift into 2nd?
Anything I can do on a Series I 3800? I believe the transmission does not have electrically controlled shift so not sure any options for that.
My question is this, I have a Kia Sedona, it's got a 3800 in it. Could I fit a sc kit on that is a fun question?
How in the world did a 3800 find it's way into there?? 🤔
Supercharged kit hasn’t been available for a few years now. Really disappointed
I r e a l l y wish I could get a good tune on a gen 1 engine. Specifically a lesabre. Pre-96
can a super charger be added to a 2008 buick lucerne?
What about twin charged?
Wonder if this will work with a camaro
Does ZZP still make the HV3? I can’t seem to find it using the link.
We do not currently sell the HV3 as it is going through a redesign. We don't yet have an ETA on when it will be available.
@zzperformance Would the intake kit work for a series 3 in an 2006 LaCrosse?
Is there a supercharger kit for rwd platforms like the f body?
Is there anything I can do for my 3.6 v6 lacrosse
you ever have someone hook this up to an f40 transmission and put it in a fiero?
The na 3800 is the l36 correct? I'm still learning and wanted to boost my 03 ss monte NA
I ask zzp about my 08 grandprix they told I couldnt add supercharger kit because drive by wire throttle body is this true I can't do nothing to it bee side air box for it
You can add a supercharger to your car, we just do not sell one for the Series III engine. We do offer a few other parts that will fit your series III, exhaust and internals mostly!
