I hope Courtney and Stella (seen here on the drums) continue to collaborate. Courtney is an amazing songwriter-producer-performer. Stella is an ace producer of multiple artists and is the drummer in Warpaint.
How can you possibly make the experience of hearing Courtney Barnett better? By having her collaborate with the equally amazing Stella Mozgawa, that’s how. Stella’s influence on this album and performance is both profound and inspired.

I remember someone telling me these songs would feel amazing live after I commented that I felt it was her weakest album till date. They were absolutely spot on. This was as good as any of her past performances which is saying a lot given the exceptionally high bar she has set. Never been happier to be proved wrong!
I had a similar experience. I initially felt the album was good but not great, and definitely her weakest. Then I saw her live...something clicked and now I can't stop listening to the album!

If you're referring to the ones with the pads, it might be a roland spd-sx.
Yes this is a roland spd-sx. And the drummer is Stella Mozgawa from Warpaint, she's incredible !

There's blues and introspection in her work. I would love for her to work with Kurt Vile again. Love the cowbell in Turning Green - adds a splash of personality to the piece, and the soulful, almost grungy, licks near the outro are so satisfying to listen. I am also glad that she getting better at incorporating melody in the verses she writes recently.
Many thanks KEXP I've really enjoyed this edition. Courtney Barnett and co delivered a wonderful performance here, and I'd only heard one song previously. I shall order a copy of Things Take Time, Take Time today. Thanks Everyone.
Good stuff. I had never heard of her until a local radio station here in Savannah Ga. played one of her songs. She reminds of Lucinda Williams.

I have nothing against the poor girl…but it’s sad when bush league quality gets elevated . It confuses people as to values and lowers the demands of the stays quo. She’s a real Roberta flack folks, the golden age is back!

One of Australia's finest talents today along with Tash Sultana. I adore Pedestrian At Best. . A workplace theme song if ever there was one. Avant Gardener is a winner to. Never that good at breathing in ...at smoking bongs etc lol. As an Australian I get a cheeky smile when that one is heard lol. KEXP have some cracking performances as a rule.

Absolutely fantastic throughout especially the guitar on the final song - reminds me a little of galaxy 500...and if anyone could point me in the direction of very similar sounding guitarists I would be deeply appreciative :-)

A truly lovely sound with Courtney and Stella Mozgawa reminds of a female version of Charlie Watts with bass thumping by Bones Sloane on that Mustang Fender is SO Bloody soothing - they all seem like old souls playing @ 432 hz music.

Wow, that Turning Green jam is great. Love the punky noise rock edge on it. Shades of 2015.
I like this sexy woman, her voice & her playing with the Fender Jaguar. Whether Dave or Stella & with bass players, she can always play with a first-class rhythm. Their songs are consistently mega-super with build-up. I also play Fender Jaguar. A Vintera with single coils. Greetings from a big amateur fan from Hamburg.

Can't tell if she's nervous or on the edge or just kinda sad here. But I've definitely seen her in better spirits, not only because the new songs are more melancholic...
She's the most authentic person we have in public life--I've always admired her for that. She's never plastic or phony. Every show is different and she is always herself. We might not always know what's going on but she doesn't mask her feelings. She goes around the world making thousands of people happy--she has supported so many people emotionally and she is endlessly deserving of every fan's support. I will always love her.

The bridge/ending in You gotta go reminds me of something Timbuk 3 did in 80s /90s. But I dont recall what song. Timbuk 3 is best know for the one hit wonder Future is so bright I gotta wear shades, but I was one of those fans that bought all 6 or so albums and consumed every song a million times. Highly underated band. So Barnetts vocal in this part of the song instantly recalled Timbuk 3 for me.
CB my #1 artist for a near decade. Killing it always and forever.
