No bro. Dont splice into the 12 v at the tail light......😅 just splice the red wire to the red camera wire "back of car". Then get your 12v from the head unit with the red wire at the other "stereo", end... then you dont even need to use the ground wire.... its grounded in through the co aux cable👌

Incorrect. The read wire needs to be connected to the reverse bulb. Not the rear tail lights.
Not true they want cam on all time not just in reverse

Excellent video. The only one that I found that says that we don't need to connect to the tail light cable if there is a canbus present. Finally, It made my reverse camera works perfectly. Thank you.

my existing wiring does not have an rca jack. any tips on splitting the wires so i can just replace the camera ?
I hv a dbt...if am using a dvr camera in the rear...from where i can take the postive connection..bcz the camera should be on all the time with the car

Can help me know, the forum or how to buy correctly output video cable for each car? Ex, toyota head unit have 4,8,16,20,24 pin to get output video. 16 pin is ok, but i dont know choose which one for each model of toyota.

Why i didn't connect to tail light if I have canbus?
Bcz canbus automaticly sends power signal to camera when you put in reverse

@@Vlad14969 if you have canbus you do exactly the same thing as in video just without connecting to taillight...because can bus will automaticly recognize that you put in reverse and then trigger the camera to turn on...

Hello my camera has the led lights working but stereo isn't switching to camera view.i didn't install it so no idea what to check
Did you put the yellow male to the back of your stereo on right female camera if it don’t say camera might say camin try that in put your car into reverse and see if it shows on the screen
@@Fishing_with_Gilbert509, I have the same problem and I have connected the video line to the "camera" input at the back of the stereo. I have also connected the power wires to the back up light, but still no video image... Any advice?

Please help me. I want to connect an aftermarket camera to my gm volt 2017. On the car I have 5 wires, the ground (back) and the positive (+12v in pink) and I also have red, yellow and white. I cut the aftermarket RCA video cable and inside I have red, yellow and back wire. Someone can tell me how to connect this?

How do you know if it's a man or female?
What it means by where it says 'connect only if there is no CANBUS'? I connected those red wires to reverse light, rest exactly the same way but my unit is not responding to trigger the camera when I switch to reverse gear.

I connected everything as per the video, except that I did not connect the red "power" wire to the tail lights, but to the "back up" lights instead. I did that, because the "back up" lights only get power when the car is put into "reverse." Since I only want my rear view camera to work when my car is in "reverse," I thought that this is the logical way to do it. Well, why am I getting a "No Video Signal" message on a black screen then? Any advice?
You will need to connect the power the red wire to the tail light .

@@IlianNachev Connect to the positive pole of the power supplvof the car's reversing light
Need to connect the back up camera power supply to the acc power that way it can be use not just during reverse operation when power is supplied that at time
