Finally subscribed to your channel; I have been watching for awhile and have been impressed with your commentary on what's offered at the places you visit, what's good, what's so-so and how much you order (would love to do that myself). So much better information than what many You Tubers offer. Your 'specializing' in Asian restaurants is interesting because your evaluation and knowledge of the food is so much beyond the casual diner of the cuisine(s). Definitely comfortable in following your recommendations Thank you.
The fried fish at Taste is flounder and its preparation is salt & pepper. The fish is filleted then lightly coated with flour and fried with salt, pepper, garlic, green onion and jalapeno pepper. The remaining skeleton with a little meat left is also floured and fried, its head, bones and tail are edible. The flounder at Rainbow Kitchen is also filleted, but the fish meat is sauteed (not steamed) in a light garlic sauce and served on top of its fried skeleton. On the Chinese menu, both dishes are called flounder prepared two ways, but you need to specify if you want the fish fillet to be fried salt & pepper style or sauteed in garlic sauce. Both styles will be served on top of its fried skeleton.
I have had the crispy garlic chicken here a few times and it's delicious. For soup I had the fish ball broth and it was also good. Between Taste and Rainbow Kitchen I slightly prefer Taste. It probably depends which day you go and the cook that's working that day.
I'm so happy to come across your channel and promptly subscribed. Food is my happiness but that has been elusive. I feel that restaurants are shortchanging clientele, tho I'm sure they are more than willing to pay if what are served are delicious. Too much promise but don't deliver especially these new gimmicky sounding places that charged too much for French portions. Finicky me is tinier now, I smell the food and I lose appetite. Since the pandemic food quality has taken a nosedive too, purveyors have made disappearing act as well I was told. Do you agree that if the dish smells good , it should taste good too , right ?
food looks awesome. i think that rainbow area might have the beginings of a second Chinatown. So many Asians live in Summerlin these days. many cities with a large asian population have a 2nd chinatown in the burbs. that pineapple rib dish is pretty authentic. taste nothing like American Chinese sweet and sour ribs.
I ate there. The food was great but the service was horrible. I have to beg for a second helping of rice. The food was cool when I got it. There are better Chinese food places in Las Vegas.

King crab is so over priced nowadays. It used to be cheap like $13/lb. We used to eat 4 king crab a week where some king crab were 15lbs.

My suggestion is to try the New Asian BBQ on Spring Mountain Rd, They have best pork belly and duck in town.

Me too. Some places have 2 sizes, individual & so a larger bowl. I can't remember if this place had 2 sizes. But it was a big bowl.

No. Shooting was at Shanhai Taste in Chinatown. This place is on Rainbow & Robindale (SW Vegas)
