  • Introducing the all new ATR-2; the next level in brain protection. The 6D ATR-2 is the most advanced energy management device ever manufactured for off-road motorcycle completion or recreational riding. Infused with the exceptional DNA of the original ODS technology, but evolved to a whole new level with high-tech materials and design influenced by 6D's work inside the NFL's Head Health Challenge III competition.
    A helmet with in a helmet, the ATR-2 with advanced ODS is evolved to provide improved performance in both linear and angular acceleration mitigation, and is also easily rebuildable for a potentially longer service life. This improves rider safety and saves the consumer money.

    I just had my 6D ATR1 rebuilt a month ago. Small correction, the rebuild is actually around $200 once you factor in shipping ($150 for the actual rebuild, and $50 to ship there and back). That being said, it's still better than buying a new $600-700 helmet, or riding around wondering if you're going to get brain damage the next time you crash. They do it very quickly and the service is excellent, they will inspect the helmet for free and actually call you and tell you to talk you through whether they think you need a rebuild or not. That human interaction alone is worth my business, this is an A+++ company that cares about it's customers and products.
    I will be in the market for a 6D ATR-2 once my ATR-1 finally wears out.

      Thanks for the info! I'll have to double check with 6D about the cost. The way it was explained to me by the owner is that due to the new design, the process is faster and easier to replace the EPS liner, therefore making it cheaper to replace. I know with the ATR-1 that you're correct, the price is around 200. But it should be less now with the ATR-2. Awesome to hear they have great customer service and treat you so well! HUGE selling point if you ask me.~Chase

      Rocky Mountain ATV MC thanks for the response. If it’s truly going down to 100 bucks, that’s even more of a reason to buy the helmet. For anyone who rides (and crashes) a lot it will pay for itself quickly

      You bet, Dmitriy. I agree, 100$ to rebuild it is pennies to the dollar when it comes to safety and ensuring you have a quality helmet in the right condition.

    Will you guys be carrying extra liners and the cheek pads and stuff? I wear a 6D large but use the medium cheek pads. I’d like to order all in one shot. 😀

      LostInPA, i checked with 6D and they have 35, 30, 45, 50, and 55 mm cheek pads to fit the ATR-2. We don't be carrying them, but you can contact them and let them know what size pads you are looking for.

    Hi! How does it fit compared to Bell Moto 9 Flex? I wear size medium Moto 9 Flex, what size would you recommend to go with in 6D?

    I'm fixing to be in the market for a new helmet, I'll be moving up to the premium level and am having trouble making a decision. I'm looking at Bell Carbon Flex, Klim F5 Korroyd, and 6D ATR2 any sugestions?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Brent, I have an ATR-2 and a Carbon flex but haven't ridden in the F5 yet. But here's my thoughts on the 6D and Bell. Both are very comfortable and fit true to size, the 6D is lighter on the scale AND feels very light while wearing it. I like the looks of the Carbon Flex more but I wish it felt as light as the 6D. The chin bar on the 6D definitely sticks out a little farther than the Bell. And for venting, I'd have to give to nod to the ATR2. As for safety, it's really up to you to decide which helmet you feel is best. The bell has their 3 layer impact liner system and I LOVE their magnetic cheek pads. The 6D has their isolation dampers and other cool features. I say go with what you feel is better. For me, each one has it's own unique features but if I had to make a decision, I'd give the slight edge to the ATR-2 because of how light it is and feels wearing it.-Chase

    Would you recommend this over the fly formula helmet

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, they're both super comfortable and have some really good safety features. If I could only choose one, it'd be the 6D simply because I can wear it with all gear sets, because yes, I'm that guy :) - Chase

    Do you ever review any gear that you really don’t care for?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn't necessarily say i don't care for any of it. But there are definitely some reviews on products that i don't use and wouldn't be my first option given other choices. Doesn't mean it's not good or that i don't care for it though. I try to have an unbiased opinion on whatever it is i'm reviewing and simply explain the features in more detail and help the customer understand better and SEE the product vs just a product page image.~Chase
