Great video! I think the distortion when you plug the old mic with the booster and 48v turned on, is because you should set the switch on the back side of the mixer to "Condenser" to sound properly. Looks like this switch already boosts the gain when set to dynamic.
Thank you for reviewing this! I'm planning on buying this mic myself but I was wondering how good is it at background noise rejection (Keyboard, ac, cars outside etc.)?
I think it's pretty good at background rejection, you may have to play around with settings to really dial it in. I've actually decided to move to using this mic as my go to, daily mic for my content, so I'd like to think that shows how impressed I am with it. If you take a look at some of my more recent videos maybe they'll give you a better example :) Btw if you do decide to buy it, if you could use one of the links in the video description, it just helps me out a little that's all & I'd be massively appreciative.
@@Colesygaming Thanks for the quick reply and helpful info! I think that I will buy this mic and don’t worry if I buy it I will use the link in description. Thanks again for replying and for the helpful review video!
Amps? I'm not such a technical person when it comes to these. I go mainly by the sound to my ear, it's become my go to microphone for my content & I think it sounds great. Check out some of my recent Mario Wonder videos for an example in normal use 🙂
Not something I've tried personally. But in theory yes, the mixer has a line in which I assume you could use to take gaming pc audio into the mixer which you could plug into the stream PC.
Will any microphone work with the mixer? Or does it need to have a xlr input? Will the line out connect to a capture card by chance? Sorry for asking 3 questions in advance 😅
Haha no problem, I'll do my best to answer all your questions. Alongside the XLR port there is a 3.5mm port for 'headset' too so you could also use a headset mic. I assume that the line out will go into a capture card as the audio source yeah, not something I've tried but I'd assume that would work. Line out is going to take all the audio out of the mixer and if there's an audio in on the capture card I assume it'll take all the audio 😊
@@Colesygaming thanks so much! So any external microphone will work if I plug a 3.5mm cable to the headset port? I have a blue yeti and it uses a usb port for connecting
@Overme ah I see, so you're wanting to plug the headphone port from the microphone (which you'd normally use for live monitoring) into the 3.5mm of the mixer?
@@Colesygaming yeah kinda if possible, I don’t mind buying a new microphone with the xlr input. I was given that blue yeti many years ago and finally deciding to try out streaming to see if i like it lol
@Overme yeah I'm not sure if that would work or not tbh :/ I get what you mean & the idea in theory works but I don't know if it will actually. You would be best using an XLR mic just to ensure it does work.
I bought this microphone today but after I plugged it in mine is ridiculously low and even when I raise the levels up in sound properties and adjust the knob it's still very low (on a boom arm too) and I was wondering if anyone had some issues with the microphone too? I believe it's because of my Windows/Device manager having something messed up but I deinstalled and reinstalled everything too and i'm still having problems.
Honestly I don't know. I personally don't use a wireless set of headphones & the thought of how would they work with any sort of audio interface or mixer has always confused me, because most work via using a wired connection to the headphones. So sorry I can't be of much help here 🤷♂️
i noticed that the light for the mic doesnt turn on when its plugged into the mixer, is there anyway to fix that so that the mic is lit up aswell or will it always be off ?
Yep, the USB C is the way to get the lighting. So if you want it plugged into the mixer & the lights on you'll need to plug the USB C into the PC for that but your audio will still go through the mixer. It is something they specifically explain in the user guide so I'm sure plenty of people wondered the same thing :)
Yeah the closer you have the mic to your mouth, the lower you'll want the gain. Play around with it, do some test recording & just dial it in to what you think sounds good/what works for you 😊
@@Colesygaming WELL, I HAVE EVERYTHING CONNECTED THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSSED TO BE, BUT WHEN I TRY TO USE THE VOICE CHANGER OR MY RECORDINGS IN THE GAME IT DOESN;T WORK. NO CHANGE AT ALL.

I do have a similar setup but instead of the SC3, I use the Scarlett Solo. It's been pretty good so far
I've also used the mic with my Scarlet, and sounded great 😊👍 genuinely I think it's a really good mic for so many setups

What did you think to the sound?
@@Colesygaming I thought it was great, mic sounded good man! Is it a keeper ?
I think I'm definitely going to give it a good run with future videos & streams & see how we get on. Really like it!
I have been having the hardest time attempting to live stream on my phone with this mixer, I wonder if it is even possible at this time.
So you have the mixer plugged into your phone which you're streaming from?
