I use steelseries sonar for all my volume adjustability; you legit don’t need a massive, expensive mixer when it can all be done and most of the time done better with software. @@r4waan ive got something similar going on and it works great as a cheap xlr input and external audio driver, and just let sonar do all the heavy lifting and quality of life things software side and it works fine for getting started and not demolishing your bank account
It's a cool mixer and works great with streaming and gaming but if you plan on using it for music, which before anybody says anything I am aware it's not made for that market I'm just providing insight as somebody who owns an SC3, it unfortunately has pretty big latency and since this is a very budget mixer it doesn't have any drivers which means no ASIO or anything it's just a straight USB audio device. I actually get smaller latency using my K688 over USB directly into the mic, I'm not sure if the headphone jack is delayed in any way either cause I just switched to plugging my headphones into the mic as well so I can keep the mic monitoring. Thankfully I can use both XLR and USB with the K688 so I just use the mixer for discord and streaming and then like I said straight from the mic for FL Studio. This is a way more pricey mixer compared to the SC3 but your best deal on a MIXER would be a Mackie ProFX6v3 with USB, make sure it's the one with USB since it comes with drivers that you can easily find online and I have firsthand experience with it in FL Studio it's a great mixer. BUT if you're really tryna save as much as you can but still want the best latency and just want the benefits of XLR/don't care about having way more physical control you can just go with a Focusrite Scarlett Interface, which they also have drivers that I believe go down to a 1-3ms delay in FL Studio? Hopefully this helps any artists out there, or just whoever this may concern :)
06:41 I think you miss understood Harris, what he meant is that you can't control your PC volume/game...etc only the volume of you hear with your headphone. so Harris is basically right, as we cannot change the discord/game/....etc from the mixer, only what you hear all together however it will still record in OBS these input even if you muted your headphone monitor.
Which would you recommend between the FIFINE Gaming Audio Mixer, Streaming Mixer Microphone Interface vs FIFINE Amplitank SC1 Recording Audio Interface?
That's what I was curious about, podcasting and we also do live play by play and reactions. So, I think this will be great for me. I have been doing content for a long will without any mixer so this will be an upgrade for me until i can upgrade again in a few years lol.
@Nonpfixion I recently did a review of the fifine boom arm in my channel... check it out, I cast speak on the k688 as I have not used that yet, however I do have it on the way and will do a review of it soon.
would I still be able to use my astro a50s if I got the sc3 mixer? Because I won't be able to connect them to the mixer, but I should still be able to use the astros as my audio output and the mixer+mic as my input?
i just tried it and it seems that if you play a sound on your computer while its recording it can pick up the sound! Muted my mic to make sure. However the quality of the sound sample is um....................kinda sad so try it out yourself and see if you like it
I use it. The only down side is alerts. i can hear alerts through it but if im playing multiplayer it goes through to game chat also haha. I just plug my headset in my gaming computer if im on a multiplayer game but obviously doing that means i cant hear the alerts.
I have the SC3, and my biggest issue isn't about channel mixing (since I would do that in Elgato software), it's that Elgato's WaveLink software isn't compatible with it. I have the WaveDX microphone, and while it works just fine with the SC3, WaveLink doesn't recognize the SC3 as a mic input, so the software says, "No Input Detected". I'm gonna have to get the Wave XLR instead.
I recently purchased the Fifine AM8 mic to improve the voiceovers of my videos (still waiting for it to arrive since I live in another country)... and I've been waiting to earn a bit more money to get the mixer with it as well so I can have the fifine combo. All the tests I've seen and heard about it seem very fine for what I want to, when I stumbled upon his video I frowned a lot because wtf are you expecting for a $50 device... and then comparing it to a $400 one, waaaaaaaay out of touch. So yeh, I'll be getting it soon to pair it with the mic and have the Fifine combo because I like all the tests I've seen, and for what I need it, which is voiceovers, it's totally fine.
My headphones work fine when plugged in but my external speakers, when plugged into line out, do not, I can see there's activity as the volume bar is flicking across on the fifine but no sound is coming out of the external speakers, am i missing something here?
My mackie crapped out and I wanted something simple. I picked up the SC3 and it works great. My audio sounds good. I run my headphones through my speaker jack. I don't use monitoring, so i don't have any issues with the volume problem Harris was talking about.
Got this recently so I could use my condenser while on xbox. Absolutely love it. Not being able to turn the volume up or down on it is a little weird, having to get used to hitting the home button then going down to the main audio settings. But for spending 40-50$ that gives me the option to run a nice condenser mic and Sennheisers I can honestly say its worth every penny.
It sounds like the connection. Since Xbox won't recognize the authorized third-party audio USB input. If the USB is the main connection with your Xbox, then the volume faders just don't work.
so i currently have a samson q9u that im using via USB i wanna go xlr would i be able to do that with this and still use steel series sonar for the post effects ? the wave xlr is just pricey for the preamp i wish the stream deck plus had the preamp built in.
You can use this for an XLR input. But if you want to use it for music you'd be better of saving and going for a dedicated mixer/interface for that style. Scarlett 2i2 or Solo is good for interface, for mixer I don't have a good recommendation though.

I just need a simple interface that I can use for my 2 pc setup. I have my old Go XLR mini but it is buggy and doesn't work correctly anymore. I think this could be a good replacement for my use case.
It works in most cases, since for most DACs, there should be an input jack. Then you can use it to connect the headphones out of the SC3 with your DAC. So basically it depends on whether your DAC has an input or not.
Yeah, Harris is wrong for sure. I personally have a MOTU 828MK3 Hybrid, so I already have a heavy hitter audio interface with 18 mic preamps, but I don't want that on all the time. I use a Behringer C-2 small diaphragm pencil mic, which is the best deal on a pencil mic and the best desk mic. I do long STEM live coding streams, and I don't need the best preamp, but I need one that sounds good and is low noise, and the voice changing effects will come in handy. I would like the round apps to my headphones, and I need to mix the main out and monitor out in OBS.
does the mic monitoring work with a bluetooth headset, i wanna get the sc3 and i have the k688 plus i wanna get a xlr but i am not sure if the mic monitoring will work so it would be great if someone could answer it
if you plug it in to the 3.5mm headset jack on the back sure, everything on it is for hard line albeit im sure you can get 3.5 mm wireless adapters and make it work somewhat for what your trying to do but it would just be input or output since most things dont have dual bluetooth for separate input and output
Don't recommend giving it a try, since there're quite a few restrictions when it comes to the actual use experience. That means you can connect it with your gaming PC through USB while using the including TRS cable to hook up your streaming PC with the line-out jack, but the problem is that you don't get the audio for your streaming PC as good as the gaming one, and you can't have the USB for the streaming PC either otherwise your teammate will hear echo sound of the game, and since it's only audio out to the streaming PC thus no Twitch alerts will be sent back to your headset.
