It’s tough starting out, putting two weeks into a video to make it great instead of slinging them out twice a week with little post-recording work, but I want to make sure that any person who clicks on my channel gets the same treatment for the time they spend watching me as the channels that have 50K-100k subs. I just bought one of these things to try out. I'll be using it with a mildly modified SM Beta 58A. We'll see it if can really manage a dual-PC streaming setup. In theory, it should be able to do it. For me, it's not so much about budget as it is about simplicity.

    I wouldn't recommend using a mixer that costs half the price of your microphone. This mixer also leaks noise into your recordings as you'd expect for that cheap price, most reviewers hide that fact.

      To me, this is a beginners mixer. Definitely not a pro-level mixer. This is great for those who want to learn how to stream as a gamer on console, develop you as an entertainer, mold your brand (your personality while gaming), and if you find out you don’t like the work that comes with having a channel, you didn’t take a second a mortgage for a Rodecaster And the virtual mixers that go with it. 👍🏻

      @@levelupwithmikenewman I needed a mixer for doing voice acting and sound effects for game development in Unreal Engine 5. I found that spending almost three times the price to get the Maonocaster AME2 was well worth it as it gives you far more control of pitch, tone and reverb as well as a much better record quality.

    This does not have Bluetooth connectivity, so you would need to have the 3.5mm transmitter to plug into your headphone Jack. • @levelupwithmikenewman

      There is only a single line out, if that line out is a party chat within the game itself, they should be able to hear whatever your interface is sending out, but there is no second line out to send audio separately to your game and to 3rd party chat. I have also heard that certain 3rd party devices that you try to add to the signal chain won’t be able to recognize the SC3 if you try to connect a 3rd party device in between your pc/console and the SC3.
      Also a side note: It’s a great budget starter interface for solo gaming of just you and the game, but cannot to bring in outside/separate party chats from other locations.

      I connect using an Avermedia Gamer 2 plus capture card. Run the Xbox into the hdmi in, run an hdmi from the output to your monitor you want to game on. Connect the avermedia to your computer via the usb cable. Then make sure your audio output on your console is to the monitor and not your headset so the audio passes through to the SC3. Next you’ll need to connect a tRS to TRs 3.5mm cable from the front of the Avermedia capture card (with the headphone symbol above it) to “the line” on the back of your SC3. I think that should do it. 👍🏻 it’s been a while since I used it. I have it as part of my daughters gaming setup to play with her friends and capture the gameplay with their in-game chat

      Rode NTH 100 worked great and still works great. I still use the sc3 for recording game play for TH-cam videos. the rode Podmic is tough because there is no way to mix your EQ to soften the harshness at the top of the voice it brings out for some voices. So I can’t say it would sound as good as it would on other interfaces. It would perform fine as designed, I just worry about Podmic harshness (which causes listener fatigue for some viewers popping through. The Podmic just really depends on how it compliments YOUR voice. Mechanically it will perform, sound quality wise - again just depends on how it works on your voice.

I’ll be 100% honest my number one Mike at that price point of $100 is the Lewitt LCT 240 Pro so crisp so clear just is a condenser microphone so you want to have an honest attempt at sound treatment in your room.

      The line-out port outputs the mixed signal, so the mic audio is included. But you would not use it for monitoring, because the delay could be a bit more noticeable than the headphone jack that's designed for you mic monitoring.

    Can u make a tutorial dual pc stream.

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi 1Bixoo, the two-pc setup is quite simple but there's drawback in it when using the SC3, so we're not recommending it for such an application. Connect it with the gaming pc via USB, and use the included audio cable to connect the line out of it to the mic input of your streaming pc. The inconvenience is that first of all, if your Twitch is on a streaming PC, then you can't hear the notification, next or perhaps the most important one, you can control the game sound and voice chat from your gaming PC separately. So we recommend it for only gaming.

They cables they provide are to hook up to an Apple phone/tablet for recording. I did not have audio coming in either until I had a TRS to TRS cable going from my capture card to the sc3. A TRS cable only has two black rings on the end, TRSS cable they have in the box has 3 rings.

    I've found there's a good amount they did get right for the price but it's most definitely meant for beginners rather than advanced users. I'd say with a passive dynamic microphone, it's a great plug and play option. However, phantom power made the output WAY too hot to be usable without clipping regardless of gain levels, which sadly kept me from using it permanently moving forward. It's been relegated to our away PC setup for occasional discord calls and gaming and it's a much better fit with that setup with a Samson Q9X rather than with my SE Electronics Dynacaster or Logitech Blue Sona

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jose, we do agree with some parts of your comment. You're right about the audience that we produce this mixer for. But it's not the problem of the phantom power that makes the output signal hot, the clipping issue may be the result of incompatible signal strength. Tbh, the mixer can provide only 50dB of gain, it's still far from enough for some pro mics, such as the PodMic and MV7, not to mention the gain-hungry SM7B. And as for the Blue Sona, it's better to use it with the one that provides phantom power to enable the mic activator inside it.

    • @levelupwithmikenewman
      @levelupwithmikenewman  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe so. It powered the Shure SM7B just fine, and that requires 60db of gain to perform as intended. I need to get me an AT2020, they are such workhorse for mics in the condenser space. I have a friend who is a vocalist and sings nation anthems for pro sporting events and he swears by them!

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no problem for an audio mixer with an XLR port to use with an XLR condenser mic, it's just the problem of whether you like the coloring of this mixer. As for a high impedance headphone, it outputs around 8mW power at 250 Ohm, which means it works but just not that suitable.

    What do u prefer Fifine SC3W or Maono AMC2?

    • @levelupwithmikenewman
      @levelupwithmikenewman  ปีที่แล้ว

      For spoken word I personally prefer the SC3 due to the difference in latency in headphone monitoring. I can barely tell with the FiFine but the Maono has way too much latency/reverb still in headphones. For singing, the maono is better because you’re intentionally using the reverb on your voice so it isn’t an issue.

    • @levelupwithmikenewman
      @levelupwithmikenewman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Similar in Sound, but the SC3 has way more features. The behringer handles mics with a separate preamps (like a cloudlifter, Tonor TA20) better. When I connected my Shure SM7B with a mic preamp in between them, the audio would get wonky with the fader down turned down to 10-15%. the behringer didn’t do that, but I would honestly never have a mic that low in an interface. They Behringer does not work the same on Macs. It sends audio in only one channel and you have to use your recording software or OBS to turn your audio back to mono in order to get audio back in both ears of your headphones. Very weird, but only does it with Apple, not PC

    • @FIFINE
      @FIFINE ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, there's one reasonable comparison. Tbh, we built this mixer to aim at the UM2, so the specs are pretty much the same, but we upgrade something like the connectors and ditch the instrument input that gamers may not need and added the RGB and voice changer, and sample buttons instead. If you choose between the UM2 and SC3 for gaming, then the SC3 is definitely a better choice, not just from the manufacturer's point of view lol.
