  • How to fix a glass sliding patio door that dosnt roll, close or lock properly. The wheels on the glass sliding patio door have an adjustment screw at the bottom of the door which allow you to raise and lower the height of the wheels. This adjustment allows you to level the door which in turn ensures the door is level and therefore allows the door to be balanced and , close flush and lock the way it is suppose to. Great job champ. I love it when I find good Aussie help like this. Fixed three sets of doors. I was going nuts trying to adjust the height by mucking about with the screws that actually hold the frame together. You saved me $$$.

    Thank you for getting to the point immediately and making this video the appropriate length.
    Your video is better than most in this category because of this. Idk what's the deal with handy men making a video that are too long. They make a 4 minute video 15 minutes long.

    This worked! Thank U soo much! 2 yrs since I bought my place & dealt w/ this issue. Even the inspector didn't catch it! I'm possibly one of the least handy, mechanical, shaky fingered *impatient people! lol.
    I was thisclose to calling a handyman/technician or whoever who almost no doubt would've gassed me even for something so basic. 50 yr old rough looking/acting sliding door that wouldn't lock or close 100% (about 1/4 opening on the lower part). Simply tightening that lower screw basically resolved the issue entirely (+ it locks now)! THX again :D

    I've got an older style door. It's glass and has a wooden frame. I've tried adjusting the screws as per the video but the gap is still uneven. At most, I've only managed to make the gap a little bit smaller. Is it time for a new door?

      If its a very old door, it may be time to upgrade. They make very good doors nowadays. Lowes has one for $350, but they range into the thousands for top brands. Good luck on your door.

    I’m trying to help an old lady with her 50 year old patio doors. Seems either the frame has become crooked, or the door is . I guess it’s either due to age of the patio door or age of the house. How do I straighten the door if the door is the problem and there aren’t any screws in sight? We’re there patio doors that didn’t have adjustable screws on their wheels?

    Hey Bill, great video. I'm a Greek wench...lol and my mama's sliding door isn't gliding like it should (hasn't for a year or so) & useless bro is well, useless. I don't have any type of drill, so can I adjust it manually (by hand) with a long screwdriver? Are the screws generally Philips head? I will give it a go tomorrow. Cheers.

    • @billshowto
      @billshowto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, this can be done with a Philip’s head screw driver. Might be a little more difficult using a screw driver due to the weight of the door. If this is the case, have someone take some of the weight from the door by lifting it up while you adjust the wheels 👍
