    We are having a ton of issues with our patio door in our condo that was installed by starline windows. The door was originally leaking and was repaired numerous times until it was finally fully deconstructed and reseated the area. After the fox it never really slid well partly because the tracks are on the outside and so hard to keep clean. Now take a better look and it’s not even on tue track. Super disappointed after all the work that was done to this door

      without seeing photos or the door it sounds like the door vents have not been adjusted after installation. Possibly minor adjustments of the vent rollers are needed which is on another video or quite possibly the door was installed out of square. If you still cannot adjust it, you can contact our local service department for assistance. They will be able to advise you of the estimated service charge to send out a technician, and they will do their best to close the gap.

      I’m seeing how to lube my slider. The previous video I watched said if lube doesn’t help, the problem may be the wheels which probably requires a maintenance fellow to come “fix” the wheels. So I’m just saying, maybe your issue is the wheels. Dunno but I’m not using Pledge Thats for sure. What a build up mess that seems.

      thats cuz this one has been inside its whole life and never seen dust or dirt to begin with then you got mr clean over here who does god who knows how many demonstrations on how to pledge the tracks too get it to roll smoothly. Excoet it only works that good in there because as i said it doesnt ever see any dirt. Try that shit outside where dust and dirt blows around when people walk over they drop a litlle bit of sand or dirt off their shoes. Before you know it youll have lemon scented mud clods in your track. This is not a prime example to follow I dont think

    • @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis
      @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis ปีที่แล้ว

      Difficult to say without knowing the product, but a heavier duty door could be a Lift and Slide instead of a typical slider, but Pledge would work on most friction points. Just like waxing ski's or a snowboard.

    Thanks for taking time to post. My buddy has a SGD vent panel that can't be lifted out of the track (even with wheels all the way retracted. Any clue how we might get it out of there so we can replace the 29 year old wheels? I've never seen a vent panel I couldn't remove before. :-/

    • @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis
      @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris that can definitely occur on older homes after settling with force onto the header or a bow in the floor. Aside from using flat bars on the bottom, a trick we often use is to cut a 2x4 at the inside dimension of your sliding glass door frame opening maybe up to 1/2" longer and starting from the jamb sides and slide it towards the center. This should expand the inside opening without causing too much strain. Even just a bit can allow the vent to come out so you can change out the wheels. Once reinstalled it would be a good time to refasten the door frame so it holds true. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the info. Do you have any opinion about putting a strip of felt or some other thin insulation strip on the underside of the door for better insulation in the winter?

    • @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis
      @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on the door type, some manufacturers have a mohair gasket that can be reinserted if the vent is removed, some have a bulb type gasket. Sounds like it could be worn/ flattened from usage. Best bet is to snap some pics or video and visit the supplier to see if they have some available, and instructions on how to replace it.

    • @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis

      I am no expert on other manufacturers products, but some have adjustment screws on the end where we have or just inward on the interior face of the patio vents on the bottom of the style just above the door sill. Most patio rollers are adjustable and have an access adjustment screw. Maybe search your suppliers website for instructions. Hope this helps.

    • @kowen5323
      @kowen5323 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Line it up with the jamb.
      Leave a small gap between the slider and the jamb.
      You should be able to see the same gap from top to bottom.
      A level doesn't matter if the jamb isn't plumb. If the jamb is off, the slider should match.

    What should I do if my track is bent?

    • @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis
      @StarlineWindowsTonyDeBonis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kim it would depend very much on the condition of the track and the material it was made of. If it slightly bent upwards it may just have jumped out a bit, and may need to be snapped back in. A flathead screwdriver and some soft taps with a hammer usually does the trick. If it is more than that, my suggestion would be to take a short video and or pics of it, and show the manufacturer of the patio door. Most track replacements are quite easy to do once you remove the sliding panel. Hope this helps!
