Thanks for the great story. I got to spend a week in and around Thompson falls in the early 90's and hooked up on a 24 in. Bull Trout. Best thing is I got to hook up the same fish twice. he broke off just before I could land him and as soon as I got rig up and the next cast he took the bait and got him landed with my first rig in his mouth. Best day ever.
Absolutely incredible film, was glued to the screen. Educational, fun, suspenseful, peaceful, and the bull trout - Wow! Cheers to all of you - This is a winner for sure! Cheers, T.
Unless you fly fish, people have a hard time grasping the thought of driving for hours then hiking in then rowing or wading for hours or days to catch ONE fish. As the gentleman said, he could’ve went the rest of the trip without catching anything else and still considered the trip a huge success. We all share that same sentiment. It’s not for everyone to understand, which is what makes it all that much more special…
I have a hole on my second favorite river. It's 10 wilderness miles in. I hike that and back in a day in hopes of catching one fish the size I caught out of that hole my first time there. I'm going to my very favorite river tomorrow to hike 12 wilderness miles. Actually, I expect to catch plenty of fish and hook into a couple of tackle breakers. It's that time of year for me - between spring snow melt and rotten weather at the end of October.
I caught a 32 inch bully quite a ways upstream from where y'all were back in early August. I caught it on a 10 inch cutty and had 4lb tippit on. still cant believe i was able to land that thing. Definitely the coolest fishing experience of my life.
This was a great beginners kit for a great price. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxKRURvLsu9Vvyw7gIuvt8FsApoQNCdz-1 Its given us a huge variety to test out and see what works well and what we like to use. Majority of the flies have stayed together well, but some of the rainbow warriors did unravel after catching a few blue gill. All in all, this was a great kit and are so happy with the purchase and value for money.
Dont know if I wanna punch you guys in the eye or hug you or both..lmao, not many videos can take me back to a time of throwing big plugs for Stripers off of cliffs in the SF Bay Area..there were a few small crews that like this group were the cream of the crop..We were the last generation to see insane fishing...So a few years ago I picked up the flyrod again to chase all the species I lost sleep over...So far a few Stripers on the fly and plenty of trout...but the fire has been lit...my brother just sent me this link...gonna punch him in the eye too lol..Excellent video, one of the best made..Thanks for throwing fuel on the fire
Nice film! Release fish with an open hand, don’t squeeze them and hold onto the tail as they swim away. Doing that removes important slime which is the first layer of the immune system. Glad to see you guys keeping the fish wet
Miss the smooth jazz music and the fishing. Video was calm and relaxing to watch but I prefer your older style of film. I appreciate you want to honor your father. :)
Really great job with this video. Not the usual YT fly fishing video, either. A certain other crew, who are very popular, tried going after bulls and it was a shitshow. I wish I knew about those forms last year, I accidentally caught a couple bulls while ripping streamers for browns on another Montana river. Subscribed, will check out your other vids.
I know that launch spot- south fork of the flathead right? We stayed at the old diamond R ranch years ago and fished it was amazing. Love the bob Marshall wilderness
@@brandenhummel4326 Well if a bear is attacking me, I want my buddy to have bear spray over a pistol. Every time. Pistols are for people. Bear spray (or a shot gun if you actually want to get serious) are for big bears. Right tool for the right job. Oh, and if you care about safety at all, life jackets when running a river that you have never run before.
So glad I got to stay in the shop and sell stuff to support you guys on this endeavor.😂
we care about you fred!
Fred, you've been awarded the TFP MVP. Congratulations.
True sacrifice
As a local who frequents this river a lot Thank You for not disclosing its location. Great edit 🤙🏻

I'm an Albertan living in BC, and I'm absolutely obsessed with null trout, but haven't managed to catch one yet. Thanks for posting this! Great video!
Thanks for wathcing!
Beautiful footage and editing. And sexy in its realism (showing the “good, the bad and the ugly”). Thank you for sharing.
Amazing video! Really enjoyed it. For sure I will watch again.

Congrats on the nice bull Jay! Great video too! You've really learned how to put together a story within the film.
Thanks duuuuude
This is the first time I have come upon one of your videos, and I am stoked to have found your content. Looked like a great trip!
What a GREAT story - Love it! Well done
Appreciate that, thanks for watching.
Great film y’all! Very well done! Love this fish
I’ve worked up there the past 5 summers, I built those stairs haha. Those were awful prior. Love that place
That's cool to hear Jeremiah haha. Thanks for watching!
Good stuff guys, just found your channel for the first time. Solid edit and production value. Subbed.
Busiest it’s ever been, quietest it’ll ever be. Thanks
Great video. Thank you.

I’m never going to buy a boat from you guys ….. in slightly used condition.
Excellent video and fish.
Sweet video guys
Man I’ve drug a boat down at that launch. It’s TOUGH! Good shit fellas
Great video you guys
Always awesome
I've carried so many fn boats down that trail. I feel your pain guys.
well worth it though!
@@flyprojectusa absolutely. I used to guide that river. I miss those days
Siick!
Where do you guys get the cards to record? I catch bulls in the Clearwater and Swan River. I don't target it's just by happenstance.
You can apply for one through Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks.
Sweet thanks
What kind of filtering water bottle is that?
its a Grayl Water Purifier. We all had one and it came in clutch. Basically a french press. Highly recommend.
MONTANA! Vodka Clear Water, Bull Trout and Sidearms! Great Video Men!
Great video, hallo from israel

Middle fork of the flat head
You filmed an impressive amount of federal offenses lol
Let’s pray they get hit like MT wild did
Huh?
Love the video and the work you guys are doing but holy shit the gun is jarring and unnecessary.
Lets go WW Rafting without life jackets, but wear our freedom dispenser for safety. Only in America.
Who goes fishing with a handgun..? God bless America....
When you’re in grizzly county u can never be too safe
@@adamwatson6564 I'm pretty sure bear spray works better wet than a sidearm. Just saying.
@@calvinbeebe3898 my gun has never got wet fishing and would still function perfectly fine even if it did
