Nice video. Glad you enjoyed our amazing state. We have been absolutely crushed since 2020 with pandemic outdoor enthusiasts that have a significantly lower sense of responsibility to the environment that enables our unique fisheries. If you watch this and come to Montana, be kind. To the fish, to the rivers, to the wilderness, and to the good people that live here.
I’m glad you got to experience fly fishing in Montana. I have yet to do that. Yellowstone is a spectacular park even if you don’t fly fish. Best wishes
A true life experience! A stunning presentation and one that captures the nuances of Montana and its people. I cycled through there in 1980 and have similar memories etched in my brain. Regards from NZ.
There's a reason I've visited that state for fishing for the past 32 years. I fish mainly the rivers around Yellowstone National Park and inside the Park too. Last year I was backcasting over the head of a bison grazing just behind me on the Firehole River. I got out of there as soon as I noticed him.... 🙂
Great video! I'm working to plan a trip myself. My schedule currently allows for an early June trip - first or second week. I'm a bit concerned about run off. Any recommendations?
@@ManicTackle I guess you guys were partially subsidised by some of your equipment sponsors which may have taken some of the sting out of it. Think I’ll stick to the cheap cabins at the Moana campground!
@@struck2soon - nope, we didnt go on the trip either mate. Some types of trips just cost more, that's the world we live in. It's all good, anyway you can fish is the way we like to support. Gosh, it sure would be nice to do a trip like that though!
Come see me then $400us a day accom food and all the fly fishing you want in the Rangitaiki river system New Zealand I fished 2 days ago and got 7 rainbows and browns similar sized on dry and dry/dropper nymph rigs from my little drift boat. only saw one other fisherman for the whole day which is unusual as haven't seen another for the previous 5 days fishing. It is a long way to get here though.
Sorry, but what a boring fishery. Sure, it suits the Americans, who never want to take one step too many under their feet. I would never do something like that, let alone pay for it.

Well put. It's definitely a world class fishery and needs caring for.
What a great experience!!
These guys know how to do it right :)

Cheers John, the lads put together a stunning clip

Amazing video, trip of a lifetime by the look of it and you ate well by the look of it 👍
Great times means great food :)
I envy you .. what a place … is this what heaven looks like to a trout fisherman ?!
It's one of a few places...:)
Looks like and amazing place!Awesome video and story!
Just superb camera work allround
The Mo is an incredible river to fish, and it's massive. Glad you got to come enjoy the waters!

Amazing !
Yup!
Wow!

Love it from canada
You're lucky - you are a bit closer to Montana than us down under!
Awesome video
Yeah, they hit it out of the park
Nice fishing uncle
Thanks, will let Uncle know :)

From Montana. I’d generally be worried about runoff at that time, too. This year’s snowfall has been pretty meager, though, so you might be okay?
Thanks man. I moved my trip back to first week of April. Now just have to hope for some snow and water this winter/spring :)@@gooldenwending
@@benweber429 - can always pop down to NZ too...we've got a few fish here...:)
How was the Big Hole? Fish populations there have been falling dramatically.
@GoulburnValleyFlyFishingCentre - will have the answer for you
Can you gear fish here dooons and spinners ?
what month is good and do you need a boat! thanks
Have a yarn with Goulbourn Valley Fly Fishing, they will be able to help you out for sure :) gvflyfishing.com/
Mantap bro
Lovely experience for you. Enjoyed the film. But Montana is having some serious environmental problems with its cherished fisheries.
Sorry to hear that - not ideal, lets hope they can sort it out
Easy fishing out West…don’t believe that it is hard to hook up. Try fishing on the East Branch of the Delaware … you will be humbled right quick!!
Yo everyone says that. Must be true!
Boats, guides, fancy lodges…I am guessing you need deep pockets for this type of fishing?
It's definitely a top-tier occasion.

Gotta love those $2000/day vacations. Sweet. For us 1%, this is wonderful...
Hmm, do we detect a hint of sarcasm...😉

One look at these old boys and its obvious their diet doesn't consist of fish.
Or just lots of fish?😏

Each to their own, right?
Americans who never want to take one step too many? What makes you think that? Also, what makes you say it's boring?
Whatever... megabucks floating. DIY wading is where it's at.
Depends on the river though...sometimes that's a good choice.
