Steven, your interviewing skills, ability to articulate thoughts and bring the best out of your guests is absolutely phenomenal. I stumbled upon your content when you spoke with one of my personal heroes ‘The True Geordie’ & now I pay close attention to every conversation you have. I loved your perspective on overcoming adversity during covid (separate vid) & I think you have an innate gift for sharing wisdom in such an easy to understand way. Keep up the great work!
It’s like two superstars collided into a supernova and created this masterpiece. I love how it is more of a conversation where both are genuinely interested and activated by being in each other’s presence. Such an inspiring pleasure to experience.
Im 54 and I came across Alis channel when he had less than 5000 subscribers. The guy is so humble and relatable to everyday life, hes funny and honest, his struggles are very real to ones own. Love this guy love that vlog he made about putting money into shares and how to type fast, hes ace. Someone worth following forever
The thing which helped me break procrastination patterns was this: acknowledging to myself, if I don't feel like doing it now, I know I will really not want to do it later, even more so. And addressing the fact that I was never actually enjoying downtime because I was still dwelling on the pending tasks. Why spoil your down time, hobby time, interactions etc. When you could just clear your mind of it by having done, whatever it is. We spend more time thinking on what we need to do, than the time it usually takes to have just done it. I'm now more consistently productive than ever whilst having more personal time, that's actually worthwhile. It's reassuring to have heard it in someone else's words, through this interview discussion.
Took me 3 days to watch this in between running around my toddler and absolutely loved it. You are both incredibly engaging, honest and so refreshing. Thank you !😊
Top Moments 1. SB: Why medicine rather than coding at university? 08:30 AA: When I was 16, I asked: Do I want to do computer science or medicine? It would be more interesting for my life to be a doctor who knows how to code, rather than a coder who knows how to code [ Fascinating viewpoint] It was this decision that made me realise let me do medicine and keep coding on the side, so that I can do a tech start-up later related to medicine. After year 1 of medicine, I knew I would not be a doctor full time, I would do it for fun.
2. AA: When the TH-cam channel took off 10:08 I realised I want to do teaching, not coding. I always had intrinsic motivation for teaching because I tutored from the age of 13 up until now. I felt most alive when I was teaching. A great thing about TH-cam is it is teaching at scale [ Wow: top perspective] Hence I found this activity which drives me intrinsically. Now I see my tech start-up as a backup option.
3. 13:13 big video = how to study exams Ali Abdaal. I wanted to make this as my 100th video. It was my 80th. I needed to learn how to get good at editing. 4000 subs. Then I went to 25,000 next week. This started my exponential growth trajectory. 4. SB: What have you learnt about 15:20 consistency and outcome? AA: If you make 1 video a week for 2 years, it will change your life. I cannot put any numbers on it. You will learn new skills, make new contacts. SB: What is it that will make someone do this? AA: Enjoy the process. It is hard to show up each week and not see results. 5. AA: How to overcome procrastination 25:30 is to un-ickify it. Example: learn a skill is too vague a task. 6. AA: I don’t have to help this patient, I get to. 31:20 SB: This is a gratitude shift. 32:48 Stoics did hedonistic adaptation exercise to take the things out of your life that you really value, to remind themselves of what they had. [Hence u see how valuable it is!] [ sounds antifragile- make yourself miss it, hence you become stronger, more grateful when that activity re-enters your life] 7. 47:30 Daily Highlight; what is the one top thing u want to do today? 8. SB: Extrinsic approval is different from internal fulfilment 1:02:10 [well said] 9. SB: One intrinsic goal 1:03:10 is after we are done with this conversation, my personal trainer is waiting. I am not doing it for anyone else, that is why it sticks. 10. AA: Content Title psychology: title for a video was ‘How writing online changed my life’. It was not great. I changed the title to ‘How writing online made me a millionaire.’ This video did very well. 1:04:50 Videos that do great are videos that deliver a promise at the start, then throughout my video, deliver nuance and depth on this promise. People want depth and nuance. 11. SB: It never fucking stops 1:08:30 12. AA to SB How do you think about money? 1:09:50 Time is all we have in chapter 19 of happy sexy millionaire. All we have are 500,000 chips. Money solves the problem of using time in better ways to use time with my niece, dog and partner. 13. SB: I am at a point where I don’t think I can be happier 1:13:50 Not queuing for 3 hours at an airport, getting a private jet will remove this inconvenience. But it does not move the needle on my overall fulfilment. 14. AA: When buying things ask: if u were the only person in the world, would you still buy it? 1:17:00 15. AA: Work does not have to be suffering. Tim Ferriss asks when faced with a tough task: ‘What would this look like if it were easy?’ I don’t want to be in a position where I work a 9 to 5 so then I can enjoy the 5 to 9 [ 8 hours: 4 hours = 2:1 If true, work = twice as long as fun] 1:23:30 16. SB: Me being selfish has allowed me to help more people 1:29:19 Doing this podcast is selfish for me 1:31:30 I do it because it makes me feel great and the comments on these videos are amazing. 17. AA: Elephant in the brain 1:31:45 and service/servant hedonism idea 1:33:45 when you do something, yes, you want to help others, but partly you want to feel good too. [There is a percentage in both] By serving others, by optimising for serving others, you make yourself happier, which is a reasonable thing to do. Admit this to yourself. This is a reasonable way to live life.
There was something really special about this episode. With most guests, Steve is holding space for them, but this was an authentic connection where the guest valued the host in the same respect.
I really loved the part on gratitude. I've literally cried in my car on my way to work while listening to you guys. I've been suffering a lot with my chronic disease and once one of the treatments finally started to work I was SO HAPPY I get to do "normal" stuff . Like going into work or not feeling any pain in the morning . I have very soon after that started feeling so tired and didn't feel like getting up in the morning , but shifting my mindset and reminding myself that I GET TO get up every morning for work WITHOUT the pain. Changes everything. Thank you for sharing those insights. B x
"I get to do this rather than I have to do this," great advice Ali, changing our mindsets actually works! "We are so quickly to fall out of gratitude when we get used to the priviledges in our lives," that's really deep...food for thought! I really enjoyed this relatable conversation.

Ali’s insights and honesty blew me away, thank you Ali 🙏🏽 We’re bringing subscribers in to watch these episodes, hit subscribe if you want that to be you
I am a little selective to which episode I listen and I’m glad that I can choose the order of them. It was amazing, I am an Ali’s subscriber for half a year now and I am glad that you guys had this conversation. Now,if it’s not too much to ask, I humble suggest,in regards to what Ali has said in the final chapter about the elefant part, have a look on what @Paul Olteanu is doing in terms of how the human brain is working and how has been evolved. I’m not expecting anything, I just wanted to express what had an impact on myself recently, since you’ve done it as well. Thank you again Steve, I am listening to you but I can’t keep it to myself.Cheers!

Why didn't you ask Ali the question written by the previous Guest in the Diary ? & Why didn't Ali write a question in the Diary for the next guest? Did you not start that tradition back then or you just forgot?
Hi Steve so late to these podcasts but please don’t have subscribers to come watch the chats live. It might take away from the experience by making it more of a performance. The honestly and openness comes from your guests when it feels like chatting to a friend and for me a viewer, it’s more valuable like that.
I have been watching Ali Abdal for a while now, and I am glad that this version of Ali who talks about how he began his journey, the early days, family is precious. Thanks, Steve for bringing it out. And great conversation!
This episode in particular felt like two friends having a conversation on how to became the best version of themselves, and it was just so natural. Absolutely love it!
This is just second episode on this channel I've watched so far (first was with Krissy Cela) and I want to say that I'm impressed how genuine and honest you and your guests are. Usually when I'm watching conversations like this people seem to be perfect in any way and I think that I have a lot of work on myself to do. You guys don't try to impress and show that we all are just humans what's really helpful and inspiring!
Crazy to me how Ali worries about his masculinity. Intelligent, Self driven, Career focused, a sarcastic witty sense of humour with an openness about his vulnerabilities. Ali you are a certified hottie!
Excellent episode, really resonated with me. Tried to pursue a career in acoustics as there are jobs within that field, although my heart really sits with music. For years I struggled making any money with music/sound engineering. But since attempting and failing at acoustics, I have returned to music as a freelancer using Upwork, and I'm already only a couple weeks in and earning a decent part-time 'wage'. Couldn't be happier, but there's still the desire for the prestige of being an 'acoustic consultant' as opposed to a 'freelance sound engineer'. It's crazy how as humans even though we can be in a position when we're happy, we often can't fully comprehend it until we meet with hind-sight. Follow your heart peeps!
Steven I'm a careers adviser and I love this stuff. Your questions are amazing. The thing I most admire about you is your active listening skill as it opens your guests up and builds rapport almost instantly. I think with careers when people achieve their goal early (doctor) it frees them to find their authentic goal which is I trinsically linked to their values. I did some radio recently and hoping to do more as it's such an efficient platform to help en masse! Fantastic episode...leading with the heart again, really inspiring!
I’ve not even done listening to half of this podcast and I’m honestly just really appreciating and enjoying two intelligent individuals speak about everything they just did. I am confident in saying that this video has changed my life just that one bit I needed changing because everything mentioned about procrastination was already something I am aware of. But to hear it is good as it’s reassurance that I am only human. And to know such successful people do in fact go through the same thoughts I have. It is super supportive as it does now make me feel more secure as I have to give MYSELF that pep talk, to not feel bad and to keep reassuring my strengths. But now I feel like I am in the right path and I am still that ambitious women who’s meant to make it, who can feel this way but just needed to hear it out loud in a different way how to eliminate procrastination or alleviate it. Thank you so much both.
I've been listening to these podcasts in all the free time that I usually use for youtube and netflix and all, and the absolute value packed into these conversations, and the incredible perspective is insane. Thank you.
I liked the way you both asked each other questions that you had to paused almost as if it challenged you guys to get an idea deeply inside your minds. Great podcast 👍🏾
I hope Ali brings Steve on his channel because there needs to be a part 2 of this conversation. Loved the relationship part. I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast segment. Tfs
Your content is disgustingly underrated. You’re the goat 🔥.I don't know who, but someone actually needs to hear this, you've got to stop saving all your money. Venture into investing some, if you really want financial stability
Successful people don’t become that way overnight. What people see at a glance wealth, a great career, purpose is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
@Williams George Hey, this is a computer age. Peeps who aren't even traders make money from the crypto and forex markets ,how many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts?
yea. You’re right. The fact is I have not done this bitcoin before but have been hearing about it. Do you know any professional broker you could refer me to?
Ali - relationship advice - don't settle. There are many women out there (some of them smoking hot) who love board games and singing Disney songs. Just stay who you are and she will find you. You're a very special person and I wish you every happiness 😊
Steven's take on relationships starting at Ali talking at 56 min is spectacular!!!! "All you can be is yourself for a long time, so if you want a long-term result, you have no choice but being yourself"
Here are my personal learning points and what truly resonated with me: Enjoy the Journey on Its Own Merit - Find joy in the process, not just the end result. Quitting Framework - Experiment to discover likes and dislikes. It's okay to try, fail, and move on. Each experiment brings me closer to my true passions. Overcoming Procrastination - Reduce external and internal friction. Use the "2 minutes rule" to break the initial barriers. Positive Mentality - Shift from "I have to (do task)" to "I get to (do task)" to cultivate gratitude and positivity. Fill Your Own Bottle First - Emphasize the importance of self-care. Work Does Not Have to Be Suffering - Work should be fulfilling and enjoyable. A New Concept of Money - View money as a mean to "buy time" to spend on better and more meaningful things/ activities
I always had conflicting views on how society would interpret my accomplishments if I gained status, power or some money under the umbrella of "filling my cup first" to help others. The fear of being labelled even slightly selfish stood in the way of utilizing my full potential. However, i've come to realize it's not selfish, gaining anything material/external that brings you some happiness and stability is better for the world. Every little bit of happiness counts, it's energy you put back into the world. What good are you to the world, what value could you offer if you're broken and uncertain? That's the selfish part, being a burden. I''m strictly speaking of denying yourself certain joys bc of the stigma around being accomplished implies selfishness. Material isn't alway happiness but it isn't always selfishness either. This video def helped clear some questions i've always asked myself, thank you.
i like how Ali is so honest like it's the prestige instead of the socially accepted answers like saving lives. Humans are complex we can want prestige and wealth AND to make the world or your community a better place. Only problem is when wealth n presitge becomes your ONLY goal then it be creepy
I found the conversation on how to identify your values quite interesting. In psychology we ask clients to remember a time when they felt content and fulfilled, and then ask them what that memory reveals about what they value. 39:50
Intriguing interview, particularly the question of morality being affected by the prevailing social consciousness of the times you happen to live in, and also Ali going deep on why he does what he does. I feel like human existence is far more transactional emotionally than we would like to think. And then we expect for every emotional dollar we spend that the other person should put in the same amount, and when they don't it causes conflict. I really enjoyed listening to this interview, thanks guys!
Wow what an insightful video! I usually don't comment on videos but this one sentence got my 200% attention & made me realize something. When Ali Abdaal said that 'What would this look like if it were easy!' Huh what would it look like if my days were easy, they would look like more fun. Just a quick background here, I'm a working professional who works from home with a 6 month old son & I keep telling myself daily that working with a kid is hard work when you're trying to be a good professional & a parent at the same time. But I just realized what if this was easy! My kid is never going to be this small & adorable again. I'm grateful for a wfh job that pays my bills, enables me to work in the area I like & allows me to be home with my son for the entire day. What if these were the best days of my life!
How beautiful though. To see two guys clearly financially comfortable, genuinely ask one another how one another views money. Really humble, enjoyed watching this massively.
Awesome interview really enjoyed this. Everything from the interview style, production quality and of course the quality of content thank you gents what a pleasure.
I thought this conversation was deeply enlightening into uncovering my seemingly altruistic ambitions. As someone who has only glimpsed Ali's content on youtube - he is obviously purpose driven that really translates into the honesty in which he divulges the intricacies of his insecurities. I appreciate the way he reiterates acquired knowledge it has pushed me to read much more widely. Thank you for this pod, I appreciate the direct and blunt approach of the interviewer, I've learned a lot!
Compelling podcast as they always are - thank you. I really like the way you embrace gratitude Stephen. When I was at my 'rock bottom', seven years ago, someone advised me to practice gratitude on a daily basis. 'WTF', I thought, I didn't even like myself. I can honestly say, gratitude has turned my life around and today I embrace the world every day. #Gratitudeisattitude. x
I enjoyed the back and forth banter between these two fellas. Felt like such an honest and vulnerable conversation about money, being yourself, feeling enough, finding mates. Really cool to get to know Ali Abdaal.
You should check out High Performance podcast too. I start my Mondays with Steve's new episode then HP - who also upload on Mondays. Sets you up for the week perfectly!
@@courtneyc8773 hiya, thank you very much for the heads up. I’m also a keen listener of the High Performance podcast too. I’ve recently re-listened to both when they featured Rio Ferdinand. Its pretty awesome how Steve and Jake extracted different information from Rio regarding United’s culture.
@@N_Davido Yes I agree! Also loved listening to Jake and Steve being guests on each others podcast. It really is quite a skill to be able to both interview and be interviewed at a consistently high level!
One tip that helps save hours of my time AND learn faster - I watch youtube videos at 1.5x or 2x speed. Yes, that sound frustrating, but you get used to it very fast. And it saves so much time when I look back. And the content is more INTENSE this way, so I remember it better. My brain doesn't start wondering in the middle of the video.
Really enjoyed this conversation between the both of you - Writing this down is probably more for me and my memory process as it is for anyone else to read! You covered some big life topics - in a human and logical manner. Human - feelings and imperfections Logical - why - purpose or reasoning. Value of money - Value of time - what is important to you (me) - figuring that out too! Not worrying so much about what others think. I do care, but more about is it the ‘right’ choice not just does it make someone else feel happy or good. Work and overcoming the procrastination barrier - What is the point or what difference do I make? How much (money) is enough? Am I happy with where I am? - Where do I want to be? How do I get there? Just big questions applied to everyday decision making - setting simple achievable goals. Thanks. I’ll keep on listening & learning & applying.
Steve, I can listen to your voice all day long. It is the only podcast I look forward to since it is so informative. That was an excellent approach to describe things. I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge with us.
I love how @steven says NO to books he's not read before... If its some of us... we;ll be saying yes to all... this is the power of being our authentic self. I love these guests, each and everyone has something different to say and to teach us.
What funny about this podcast is that I started to relate with the thing they were talking about.....and then they got me hook into watching the whole podcast.....keep in mind this is my 2nd podcast on my life(no really fun of podcast....but starting to enjoy it because of DOTC)
Late to this party but you both had me from the start and right until the end. I loved how two sided this discussion was, you both asked questions of each other, and both answered honestly - some difficult questions there too - particularly around the subject of money. Fascinating! My biggest takeaway was how we could be living the dream today of what our previous self was dreaming of five years ago, and not even realise it because we are busy working out what we are working towards next - wow, so true! I'm sure others have already commented on the fact that being an alpha male is seriously over-rated. I love Disney and board games, not that keen on men who think they have to be in control, carry a six pack etc etc - we all need to be our true selves in all relationships. Thank you both again for this engaging episode - I've learnt so much :)
Steve, dude. The thing you said at the 33:30 resonated 100% with my moment. Thanks for helping me see it so clearly. Also I'm working overtime in the week I less wanted it (between christmas and new years) because I said I would help my brother (Who had a burnout this month and helped me so much this last year, being the major change factor that got me where I am. The task is so tiring, but the fact that you mentioned and reminded me of the difference of get to do (instead of have to do) helped me a good deal. Also doing this while listening to this podcast is a joy in itself.
Definitely enjoyed this because I’ve watched him for years. The segment about the relationship was very relatable to most guys. Bringing on someone like AMS (American TH-camr) would be extremely valuable to most men
This was so good, I loved it. When I was little, I wanted to help everyone I knew to make money because I had found a really cool way to do so. (I was 9 then) Once I realized just a few who really wanted to (not just saying it. My English teacher further helped me in my journey, as I used to write for the slow writers in my class so that they could keep up (I was a fast writer). This is what she said to me, Caren, the only reason they are not keeping up it's because you are doing it for them. She was so right, you can't carry anyone who does want to go with you, but most importantly you have to do it first on your own and let those that want to hop as they see fit. Now I get to help those that want my help
Wow it was so interesting to hear that Ali doesn’t think he’s masculine! To me a masculine man is a dedicated, hard working and has a clear vision for his life, Ali has all of these things. Enjoy your Disney songs and fantasy novels, it makes you more interesting✨
Loved the interview. We saw another side of Ali that is pretty cool and honest. It has to be very inspiring and motivating to speak with Ali on a one to one. Amazing interview again
This productivity content is the key to success. Much thanks Ali and Steve. Ali's idea about learning as doing hard concepts or action is innovative and useful and productive to learners.
My man quoted Mylie Cyrus like she was a thirteen century philosopher! 🤣 Very impressive guest and incredible conversation. Learnt some great things about overcoming procrastination - new subscriber!
@aliabdaal BE YOURSELF! Dancing around singing Disney, and playing board games sounds like a fun partner to me! I'm a singer and I LOVE board games!! And I'm just one woman. There has to be more like me.
What Steve says here about values is huge. Lots of personal development books talk about living by your values but none of them tell you how to do it. I came to the same conclusion some time ago that you understand your values by understanding how you feel.
I'm smiling like the proverbial "Cheshire Cat" right now! Wow, I look forward to when Mr Ali Abdaal returns to this podcast. I could listen to the both of you for hours. This podcast has been an enlightening one for me, as I am working hard to stop this evil dent in my armour, called procrastination. Thanks again Mr Bartlett for bringing guests to us who are engaging, inspiring and motivating along with being authentic. 👍🤗
First time watching the podcast. Utterly brilliant, great questioning and exploring a lot of different avenues with Ali. Will be watching the others. Thank you!
Steve mate, this conversation was an absolute joy and you and the team were wonderful to hang out with ❤️❤️ thanks for having me on :)
Firstly you are a doctor but don't mention in intro 😑
Was a pleasure having you on mate, thank you for your insights and honesty 🙏🏽
You have the most annoying voice. Seriously arrogant too.
My inspiration "Ali"
@@surajbhati8271 it hurts right! I unfollowed him after he declared being a content creator is helping for people than by working as a doctor
Keep up the great work!
thanks daniel very kind!
I want to thank Ali's mum for bringing him to the world
Bloody hell, mate! Calm down.

Thank you !😊
Saaame! But so worth it 😊

1. SB: Why medicine rather than coding at university? 08:30
AA: When I was 16, I asked: Do I want to do computer science or medicine?
It would be more interesting for my life to be a doctor who knows how to code,
rather than a coder who knows how to code [ Fascinating viewpoint]
It was this decision that made me realise let me do medicine and keep coding on the side, so that I can do a tech start-up later related to medicine.
A great thing about TH-cam is it is teaching at scale [ Wow: top perspective]
Hence I found this activity which drives me intrinsically.
32:48 Stoics did hedonistic adaptation exercise to take the things out of your life that you really value,
to remind themselves of what they had. [Hence u see how valuable it is!]
[ sounds antifragile- make yourself miss it, hence you become stronger, more grateful when that activity re-enters your life]
7. 47:30 Daily Highlight; what is the one top thing u want to do today?
8. SB: Extrinsic approval is different from internal fulfilment 1:02:10 [well said]
9. SB: One intrinsic goal 1:03:10 is after we are done with this conversation, my personal trainer is waiting. I am not doing it for anyone else, that is why it sticks.
10. AA: Content Title psychology: title for a video was ‘How writing online changed my life’.
It was not great. I changed the title to ‘How writing online made me a millionaire.’
This video did very well. 1:04:50 Videos that do great are videos that deliver a
promise at the start, then throughout my video, deliver nuance and depth on this promise. People want depth and nuance.
11. SB: It never fucking stops 1:08:30
12. AA to SB How do you think about money?
1:09:50 Time is all we have in chapter 19 of happy sexy millionaire.
All we have are 500,000 chips. Money solves the problem of using time in better ways to use time with my niece, dog and partner.
13. SB: I am at a point where I don’t think I can be happier
1:13:50 Not queuing for 3 hours at an airport, getting a private jet will remove this inconvenience.
But it does not move the needle on my overall fulfilment.
14. AA: When buying things ask: if u were the only person in the world, would you still buy it? 1:17:00
15. AA: Work does not have to be suffering.
Tim Ferriss asks when faced with a tough task: ‘What would this look like if it were easy?’
I don’t want to be in a position where I work a 9 to 5 so then I can enjoy the 5 to 9 [ 8 hours: 4 hours = 2:1 If true, work = twice as long as fun] 1:23:30
16. SB: Me being selfish has allowed me to help more people
1:29:19 Doing this podcast is selfish for me
1:31:30 I do it because it makes me feel great and the comments on these videos are amazing.
17. AA: Elephant in the brain 1:31:45 and service/servant hedonism idea 1:33:45
when you do something, yes, you want to help others, but partly you want to feel good too. [There is a percentage in both]
By serving others, by optimising for serving others, you make yourself happier,
which is a reasonable thing to do. Admit this to yourself. This is a reasonable way to live life.
Tnx

Would you please invite Ex Miss Universe Sushmita Sen?
I have been watching Ali Abdal for a while now, and I am glad that this version of Ali who talks about how he began his journey, the early days, family is precious. Thanks, Steve for bringing it out. And great conversation!
The way Ali is so honest is insane. I have so much respect for him and his work! Such a good example to be as a person.
An absolute treat of a podcast, exactly what I needed. Thanks to both of you.
Nice
This episode in particular felt like two friends having a conversation on how to became the best version of themselves, and it was just so natural. Absolutely love it!
° Very sweet and TRUE Nicolemanhica6279🙌😁
Its you same girls that ignore guys like him LMAO. You dont want that feminine character and you know it lol
Isn’t it?? I find him very attractive….
Really powerful to see that Ali (the king of productivity) Abdaal struggles with all the same internal conflicts that we all encounter. Great episode!
"Two minutes is all you need to change your life" - Ali Abdaal
How?
Weak pullout game
Steven I'm a careers adviser and I love this stuff. Your questions are amazing. The thing I most admire about you is your active listening skill as it opens your guests up and builds rapport almost instantly. I think with careers when people achieve their goal early (doctor) it frees them to find their authentic goal which is I trinsically linked to their values. I did some radio recently and hoping to do more as it's such an efficient platform to help en masse! Fantastic episode...leading with the heart again, really inspiring!
I can't believe you got Ali Abdaal on the podcast!! Jaw literally dropped! Can't wait to watch 🤩
I can't believe I'm just now seeing this video. I'm barely halfway in and there's so much wisdom. Thank you Ali and Steve
He is an amazing inspiration. He is highly sharp when it comes to critical thinking, deep analytical thinking, deep consideration and team leadership.
Ali is simply the product of his environment: wealthy + family of doctors. He just absorbed the emotional tone of his environment.

I hope Ali brings Steve on his channel because there needs to be a part 2 of this conversation. Loved the relationship part. I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast segment. Tfs
Ali is a master of interpersonal psychology look at how he mirrors Steven’s body language.
wow, great observation! I didn't even notice that!
Most people do that when they like someone. There are many studies about that. I don’t really think he does is intentionally
He's so great at conveying intelligent points in such a simplistic way. Loved this 🙌🏻
Ali Abdaal is such a gem! So glad he does TH-cam. A very honest and humble teacher. This conversation was great 👍🏾
“If your the only person in the world, would I buy this“. Profound 🙏🏽
Your content is disgustingly underrated. You’re the goat 🔥.I don't know who, but someone actually needs to hear this, you've got to stop saving all your money. Venture into investing some, if you really want financial stability
Invest globally in bitcoin, gold, silver, forex market, commodities. Just don't be left out and save yourself
Pure wise comment
Successful people don’t become that way overnight. What people see at a glance wealth, a great career, purpose is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
@Williams George Hey, this is a computer age. Peeps who aren't even traders make money from the crypto and forex markets ,how many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts?
yea. You’re right. The fact is I have not done this bitcoin before but have been hearing about it. Do you know any professional broker you could refer me to?
Danke!
Really enjoyed that. Reflecting on why, I think it’s because of the honesty of the discussion.
Ali - relationship advice - don't settle. There are many women out there (some of them smoking hot) who love board games and singing Disney songs. Just stay who you are and she will find you. You're a very special person and I wish you every happiness 😊
10 minutes in and absolutely brilliant open and honest from Ali and Steven as usual! Really appreciate and value you both! Phil
I am loving Ali's insightful tidbits near the end, those gems just started spewing out.
Steven's take on relationships starting at Ali talking at 56 min is spectacular!!!! "All you can be is yourself for a long time, so if you want a long-term result, you have no choice but being yourself"
Here are my personal learning points and what truly resonated with me:
Enjoy the Journey on Its Own Merit - Find joy in the process, not just the end result.
In the gym as I watch this and I can relate to the mindset to motivation. Thanks Steven
That was a really nice interview! I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction and that both of you asked questions and gave genuine feedback.
Genuinely enjoyed listening to this entire conversation! Ali’s curiosity is infectious and it is fun to see him grow as a person.
As soon as I saw this video with Steve and Ali that was it. Stop what you're doing and watch it. Thanks so much. Very insightful.
brillliiiannnnntttt convo. 2 phenomenal minds of our generation, role models we are lucky to have. much love ❤️
I have followed @ali since the early days and love him! Great podcast thank you!
#Gratitudeisattitude. x
just discovered your podcast via Ali;s newsletter! You really inspired me to start finally my podcast!
I enjoyed the back and forth banter between these two fellas. Felt like such an honest and vulnerable conversation about money, being yourself, feeling enough, finding mates. Really cool to get to know Ali Abdaal.
This podcast makes me look forward to Mondays. Thank you Steve!
Thoroughly enjoyed this conversation! Two very inspiring and transparent individuals having an open chat is always a treat to watch!
Love this.
"Don't suppress the things that make you feel good because then you'll feel sh*t" - Steven Bartlett
Ali thank you for being so genuine during the podcast. As a teen going into uni you have given me a different perspective on career options.
Wait but aren't they talking fast?
Doesn't work for me, I prefer to listening while walking or doing chores.
Really enjoyed this conversation between the both of you -
Writing this down is probably more for me and my memory process as it is for anyone else to read!
You covered some big life topics - in a human and logical manner.
Human - feelings and imperfections
Logical - why - purpose or reasoning.
Value of money -
Value of time -
what is important to you (me) - figuring that out too!
The most genuine podcast I have seen , Big Fan!
Steve, Do not understand how I have missed your Channel. Amazing Content. All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦. Ali 👌 as always.
What funny about this podcast is that I started to relate with the thing they were talking about.....and then they got me hook into watching the whole podcast.....keep in mind this is my 2nd podcast on my life(no really fun of podcast....but starting to enjoy it because of DOTC)
another channel for learning, was also not much into podcasts but for topics ur interested in / passionate about, can be educative 👍
enjoyed every single second of this. such a humble successful inspiring yet relatable human being 👏
Late to this party but you both had me from the start and right until the end.
Oh dear lord, I'm normal after all. So refreshing to hear you guys struggle with the same things!
You both a really genuine guys....hats off. With so many bullshit on the web, its refreshing to watch people like you guys.
Did Ali say Lesotho? Oh my God, that's my home country!! As he said, it's a country most people have never heard of. I am so happy!!
Bringing on someone like AMS (American TH-camr) would be extremely valuable to most men
Love this podcast! Thank you so much for such an honest and insightful conversation ❤️. I just started reading Steve’s book yesterday.
You two are two amazing human beings ❤ Your honesty is what we need more in politics and people who run countries .... Thankyou xx
I’m so excited for this interview! You’re both very inspiring.
This is my fave TH-cam channel now!!! Ted talks have nothing on your interviews!! keep it up :)
So well spoken! New follower to Ali and really like everything he said.
Oh Steven, Thank you so much for this interview. Great topic. Thanks both of you.
My man quoted Mylie Cyrus like she was a thirteen century philosopher! 🤣
Very impressive guest and incredible conversation. Learnt some great things about overcoming procrastination - new subscriber!
What an amazing conversation - so many incredible insights. I didn’t want it to end!
Amazing discourse! The value of this is the pure honesty of both of you.
Also Ali is just a machine! Fantastic books condensed to actions i can just do! Love following him.
Every time I listen to this podcast there is something in it that I needed to hear at that moment in time. Amazing stuff Steve and team
17:11 success on TH-cam
Bad videos as cringey as they are become the endearing archive of who you have been for those you love you
I like how Steve is asking quite tough questions with critical thinking attached. Thank You for this.
Two such genuine guys! Really enjoyed this conversation between you two.
First time watching the podcast. Utterly brilliant, great questioning and exploring a lot of different avenues with Ali. Will be watching the others. Thank you!
