How to edit Reels video clips in Instagram | New layout

- Instagram Reels have introduced a new layout and a new way for you to edit your Reels. You can now edit clips, reorder your reels clips and add in new clips… You can even retake just a section of your video.
In this tutorial, I show you how to reorder your reels video clips, retake your video clips even ones in the middle of your sequence and how to trim and edit your videos. I’ll be walking through the entire Instagram reels editing layout that has just been introduced early 2022.

Literally found your video on IG reels and I was like yesssssssss! I didnt even know there was a new way to edit reels but it is sooo needed because I HATE editing reels on IG (on my phone) but its annoying having to do it on my Mac in final cut Pro x too so this is a welcome update for me and I'm sooooo greeatful you put a tutorial together. The edit clips in no long on the bottom left. Anyone experiencing that?
I have just done a check and I only have edit on my creator account now. So they are either still updating things or it might be a creator account feature only.
Yes, I just submitted the same question as well, and I can't find the edit clip option either.

I enjoyed this tutorial! Question is… When you first recorded, did you do separate recordings or was that where you recorded all one length and Instagram cut it up into different clips?
@@luknueven6685 Hi, thank you and to answer your question in the first recording that was me recording lots of little different clips, Instagram didn't cut it up for me. Hope that helps 🙂

Instagram is offering it now. I just used it the other day so they must have brought it back

Sorry without editing the music outside the reels app there isn’t a way to do this

Hello, So what I want to do is use popular clips on other videos in my video. (Like the guy dancing in the club) everyone is using as a POV video now. But I can’t find any directions on how to do that. Could you do a video on that? Thank you!! 😊

I dont know whats going on with the reels editing stuff where I live in the Caribbean. I could have trimmed n stuff and all of a sudden I cant any more. I checked all over n I cant find nothing
Hello, I have a question that I cannot for the life of me figure out. I watch people insert movie clips into their reels so i started trying to do it as well. But when i screen record something on youtube it obviously only captures a sliver of the clip- it doesn't cover the entire screen. What am i missing? How are people getting the clips to cover the whole screen?
Is there a way to add time to a clip? Some of mine are so fast and I’d love to lengthen them, if possible.
I have done another tutorial on speeding up videos as you upload them. Its here th-cam.com/video/dJEtioujJdc/w-d-xo.html it may only work for ios or certain types of accounts though.
Does anyone know why the retake feature has seemed to disappear? I have relied it on to make my reels but cannot find a single fix - any ideas?

@@AutumnSeaveyHicks I am absolutely baffled why they'd remove it, it seems completely pointless and every time I google it I just get hundreds of listicles telling me to delete and re-install the app. Fuming!!

how do you split a clip (not trim it)
I think they may just be introducing split clip I don’t have it yet. If you recorded the video in reels not sure you can. The work around if its video from your camera roll is import the same video twice trim first section the start the second video from where you would have wanted to split.
I updated my app, but can’t see the “edit clips” feature after hitting “preview” to rearrange clips. Any tips?

it takes a while for updates to reach people! I have more then 1 account and its updated on 1 and not on any of the others & that is normal for me now it usually takes a few weeks (sometimes months) for updates on all. my accounts.
Yep - same. I had this feature a few days ago but now it's gone. IG is so frustrating.

there is no "edit clips" button on my phone - it is an android phone. So how you edit each clips so you don't have yourself pressing the stop recording button at the end of each clip on an android phone?
Not sure on Android I am afraid although should still be able to do it. What Instagram account do you have Personal, Creator or Professional
So weird. I use to have the edit clip option but then all of a sudden it just disappeared… is this maybe a glitch? I do have the updated version..

I believe they remove the retake option because you can delete the old one you don’t want, record a new section and place it wherever you want. Hope that helps

Yes I believe they did, because it’s not needed if you can delete a clip and record and place the new clip wherever you need it

Tried everything. Updated to latest IOS. Logged out and in. Turned phone on and off. Deleted and re-downloaded app. No Edit Clips button. :( I have other editing programs, but this is Instagram. C'mon Zuck, you got billions of dollars. Make buttons appear bro.
Cut a section out of a single clip
Hi, hopefully helps. Its not as simply as just cutting but if it is prerecorded video upload it twice and trim the beginning of one section and the end on the other video and trim off the section you don’t want. If you record video in Reels then you have to download your video before you post it and then follow the upload steps above. Hoping that makes sense.
