1a) use text in video to make them unmute 1b) insert text only in IG app 1c) don't use too much text, make it easy to read 2) reels are 4:3, not 16:9 3) have ONE consistent topic-and 5 sub-topics 4) save the video! 5) make trending content that also sticks to your niche 6) make video only 1080p. Remove logos in videos. 7) don't overthink. Videos don't have to go viral. They don't have to hit. Just show up. record the audio. Then think of how to apply to niche. 8) add CTA on every video.
I can't figure out how to add text to just one uploaded photo, and not onto the 'entire' group of photos in the Reel. Like, if I add a caption, it's there for the whole reel, when I just want it on specific parts, if that makes sense? I'm not a tech-y so if anybody could solve this for me..it would be SO appreciated!
I am 56 and was a video producer in the late 80s and 90s. I also worked in advertising, PR, and marketing. Even from an "old school" perspective, YOU are very good at what you do. I am just now looking to add reels to my IG account. My niche is papercrafting. Glad I am subscribing to you.
My biggest mistakes that I just learned from you is losing my video quality by recording in 4k, not removing my tiktok logos, and not putting a call to action on my videos! I’m so glad I found this video and listened to it today while I was cleaning my room 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for being real! Yikes, my mistakes - cropping, overthinking it, not using enough text in reels, and I need to put a call to action! Positivity- I am learning and will continue to....Thanks for all the encouragements!
When I heard this: "don't overthink. Videos don't have to go viral. They don't have to hit. Just show up. record the audio. Then think of how to apply to niche." Makes me hit the subscribe :)
Oh dear ... I have to hang my head in shame Millie, I am definitely making most of these mistakes !!!!!!!!!!! I loved your advice on just getting started on reels and you will get more familiar and stop being afraid of it !
I posted my first one not too long ago. Probably not the most exciting first reel but the reach was impressive! Over 2K accounts reached over a few days time. That is a MASSIVE improvement over what I would normally get without reels. Thanks for the ideas on improvements as my next one has me talking in it.
It's so easy to say 'niche down' but actually after hearing and trying to apply this for a long time, with your specific example, you helped me A LOT. So thank you for that
I’m not growing a brand, but I’ve been toying with the idea. Loved your video - you talk at just the right speed - I’m a SAHM with two toddlers - I’m tapped out on patience lol and I got all the info quickly and painlessly. Bonus, you have a great camera presence and aren’t annoying - sorry to say, some people aren’t for everyone, but it’s true. I definitely subscribed to your channel - who knows maybe you’ll be the one to get me to take that chance! 😊
You're the DaBomB Modern Millie!!!! Thank you for all the golden nuggets! My #1 mistake is around topic. My topics are all over the place and not directed at my niche/audience. Thanks for shining light on this. I will work on this. Much love.
Hey, I listen to your videos as I drive to work, so o do t often comment or like etc… your stuff is so good. Thank you for all that you are doing. It’s so helpful.
Great tips and advice Millie! * Little tip to all, on your point about saving your reels in case you lose them, great! Make sure however you save them without any added audios tracks, not only will it not save to your phone with music but it won’t save with your own voice if you’re speaking in the clip which I personally didn’t know! So save before adding music/sounds! 😇🙌🏼✨
@@MillieAdrian 💙 Was just watching your video on apps and tools for organisation. If I’m a solo business/creator.. do you recommend using multiple apps? There seems to be a bunch of crossover… Trello, Airtable and Sunsama seemed best for me. Do any of those do all the same functions or would you use all 3? Thanks Millie 🙌🏼✨
I think the call to action is a difficult one, because I hate it when I'm disturbed in my reels scrolling and people want me to do something. I never do.... If I asked around, people are also bothered so they don't either. I know it isn't a big survey, but it stills stops me from doing on my reels.
All you have to do is to reach out to the company name shows as my TH-cam channel name, he's one of of the IG team who helped me out, I believe he can help you.
@@MillieAdrian Would you mind clarifying the whole situation with hashtags - it’s quite confusing I find. I’ve started to use the Flick hashtag tool at the moment. Some TH-camr’s say only 3 to 5 hashtags on reels in the caption while others say use up to 30 when doing a regular post. It’s confusing whether to include them in the caption or in the comment section and some say to mix up the quantity of hashtags through your normal posts. I know the IG creators page has said 3-5 tags for posts within the caption but I still see a lot of creators putting many more than that. If you’re posting an image with no hashtags and then adding your hashtags to the comments section after posting does that hurt your reach? Not sure if you have a video on this but would be great to clarify! Thanks Millie! 😊🙏🏼
I love your videos. I just recently found you. You’re easy to listen to and understand plus your personality is fun but not over the top. Love love love! Oh yes and I learn ALOT
This was immensely helpful, thank you so much! I’m just attempting to grow my social media presence as it does not come naturally to me at all, and had no clue how to. I was getting so overwhelmed and overthinking everything possible lol you rock!!!!
My IG growth was slow (like, my mom and sister were my only followers for MONTHS slow), but once the momentum starts, it keeps building. Even still, there are weeks where I might lose followers, but we just have to stick with it. Best of luck to you!
This is gold! I just started using snap tik to remove tiktok logo. Can I repost my older reels without the tiktok logo just to reels to help reach more people?
I haven't really used reels up to now. Mostly because I don't understand their purpose and what I should be posting. This helped with that. Now I'm looking at many short videos I have that should be on Reels.
Just subscribed loved this video! My biggest mistake has been not saving videos. There are many times I gave up on a video idea that disappeared after hours of work but have learned my lesson
2024 vision: When in TikTok you can now save without a watermark. On the side panel (right) while done recording but in editing in app you can now save with a little save icon. It will not save with a watermark and if reuploaded after it will not link any filters or templates used to the video. It will also ensure you can make a "sound" without a watermark. You can also film your reply, download, and then when replying with a video still upload. It is newer, so thus the 2024 vision
Love your tips and tricks thanks. The tip that I will be doing for sure is SAVING my videos. Also, will start watching more reels and saving for future reels - thanks!
Miłków, do you recommend adding reels only in reels TAB or as well in feed ? I think that reels I post on feed get better reach. What are your thoughts on that ?
It's easy - as far as I know Reels not posted to your feed won't show up in the stream of your followers. So you miss the engagement of your followers. So I would recommend posting them to the feed and remove them later if you don't want them in your feed.
So happy I've found you! My mistake? Not making videos. Ever. And avoiding TikTok like a horrible plague because I did not want to make videos. At all. Well, IG is a video app now so here we go lol 😆
I just spend the better part of my Saturday morning watching your videos - So thankful!! I am currently only adding 3-5 followers a week booo. Let's see how all this beautiful information will help take me to the next level
Super helpful video. Thanks for sharing these tips and tricks. I'm having a hard time with reels and you just pointed out a lot of mistakes I've been making. Overthinking, not adding text, and no CTA are the mistakes I'll be correcting soon! Thanks for sharing! 😊

That's my most common mistake: misplacing the text. I love the lil IG logo saying "I'll never tell" 🤣 Literally laughed out loud because it feels IG is being a lil troll when they delete drafts 😏 Fooled me once, never again 🙌🏾 Thanks for the tips!
A lot of people probably don't know but when you add a video on IG Reel (even TikTok) the video crops in a bit when watching Reels on your phone. When you watch IG Reels on your computer the video is the actual sizes of the video when you use an outside video editing app. So strange, but I'd noticed this a few weeks ago.
Reels are the best!! They changed everything in my business, ofc for the better 😅. But creating reels is not that easy as it looks. They have their own secrets to perform better 😏

Seems like my short reels do very well. Even at 7secs, how can you add text at the end of ig videos?
Hello,
What is CTA? Thank you
Hey. Love this you are fast and clear. You say 4:5 on your video, above says 4:3. Though you might want to edit.
Can u plz explain the No 2???4:3??

The dimensionnnnnn of course.. Thanks a lot Millie for making this video!
