1a) use text in video to make them unmute
1b) insert text only in IG app
1c) don't use too much text, make it easy to read
2) reels are 4:3, not 16:9
3) have ONE consistent topic-and 5 sub-topics
4) save the video!
5) make trending content that also sticks to your niche
6) make video only 1080p. Remove logos in videos.
7) don't overthink. Videos don't have to go viral. They don't have to hit. Just show up. record the audio. Then think of how to apply to niche.
8) add CTA on every video.
I can't figure out how to add text to just one uploaded photo, and not onto the 'entire' group of photos in the Reel. Like, if I add a caption, it's there for the whole reel, when I just want it on specific parts, if that makes sense? I'm not a tech-y so if anybody could solve this for me..it would be SO appreciated!
Seems like my short reels do very well. Even at 7secs, how can you add text at the end of ig videos?

My biggest mistakes that I just learned from you is losing my video quality by recording in 4k, not removing my tiktok logos, and not putting a call to action on my videos! I’m so glad I found this video and listened to it today while I was cleaning my room 🎉🎉🎉
I’m not growing a brand, but I’ve been toying with the idea. Loved your video - you talk at just the right speed - I’m a SAHM with two toddlers - I’m tapped out on patience lol and I got all the info quickly and painlessly. Bonus, you have a great camera presence and aren’t annoying - sorry to say, some people aren’t for everyone, but it’s true. I definitely subscribed to your channel - who knows maybe you’ll be the one to get me to take that chance! 😊

We have always been doubtful of Reels and how we can use them as a business. Videos do work for us but have really no idea what can be done with Reels :/

I am 56 and was a video producer in the late 80s and 90s. I also worked in advertising, PR, and marketing. Even from an "old school" perspective, YOU are very good at what you do. I am just now looking to add reels to my IG account. My niche is papercrafting. Glad I am subscribing to you.

I posted my first one not too long ago. Probably not the most exciting first reel but the reach was impressive! Over 2K accounts reached over a few days time. That is a MASSIVE improvement over what I would normally get without reels. Thanks for the ideas on improvements as my next one has me talking in it.

My IG growth was slow (like, my mom and sister were my only followers for MONTHS slow), but once the momentum starts, it keeps building. Even still, there are weeks where I might lose followers, but we just have to stick with it. Best of luck to you!

Great video Millie. The tips were spot on with the mistakes ive either made earlier and fixed, or am still making lol. The call to action is where i'm going to look into now. I'm hoping to find a way to add a clickable link embedded within the clip to our website. Any help on this would be appreciated. Also, I can't figure why a handful of my reels have between 3-4000 views pretty fast, while others are sitting at line 11 views or so.

I haven't really used reels up to now. Mostly because I don't understand their purpose and what I should be posting. This helped with that. Now I'm looking at many short videos I have that should be on Reels.

* Little tip to all, on your point about saving your reels in case you lose them, great! Make sure however you save them without any added audios tracks, not only will it not save to your phone with music but it won’t save with your own voice if you’re speaking in the clip which I personally didn’t know! So save before adding music/sounds! 😇🙌🏼✨

That's my most common mistake: misplacing the text. I love the lil IG logo saying "I'll never tell" 🤣 Literally laughed out loud because it feels IG is being a lil troll when they delete drafts 😏 Fooled me once, never again 🙌🏾 Thanks for the tips!

@@MillieAdrian Would you mind clarifying the whole situation with hashtags - it’s quite confusing I find. I’ve started to use the Flick hashtag tool at the moment. Some TH-camr’s say only 3 to 5 hashtags on reels in the caption while others say use up to 30 when doing a regular post.
It’s confusing whether to include them in the caption or in the comment section and some say to mix up the quantity of hashtags through your normal posts.
I know the IG creators page has said 3-5 tags for posts within the caption but I still see a lot of creators putting many more than that. If you’re posting an image with no hashtags and then adding your hashtags to the comments section after posting does that hurt your reach?
