Well, the scentence "I'm lying" without any other context can neither be true, nor false.
So the machine has no reason to check for true or false statement...
...except if the scentence implicts that you're ALWAYS lying.
And that said, no one is always lying, even if he or she might try really hard to do so.
Therefore, the statemend "I'm (always) lying" is false, therefore, the lie detector correctly beeps for a false statement.

A new world order: lie detectors + politicians covered head to toe and using voice modulators so you don't know their sex or race. The only thing you are really voting on is their policy and how they'll react to any given situation, which is what actually matters anyway. If we implement this then with my current projections we will become a utopia by 2034, or a dystopia where a country is run on the basis of who's the best at explaining why the waifu or husbando that is already the most popular is the best.

2:33 not only the machine can detect lies, it can also detect bad faith truths too!! He technically wasn't lying if he had Cancer (referring to his boat), but the machine picked up on that

It held too many lies.... so many secrets... it couldn’t hold it in anymore... then it exploded. If it exploded that means it decided to quit living because the secrets and lies became too “strange.”
