The first time I saw this in bad quality I thought it was legit until he asked about the subtitles. Made the video that much more hilarious.

I had watched the original about 15-20 years ago. And I thought the entire thing was real. I had not heard of Sketch Comedy back then. And it was so well acted, I actually believed it. SNL need to watch and learn a million things from this.

I've always wondered how non-native English speakers react when they are interviewed in English, and later see the footage, where the British or the Americans or the Canadians or the Australians have insert subtitles. Many of us need subtitles for the Australians.

As an American learning German, if I were interviewed in German and later saw the footage with subtitles I'd probably be slightly disappointed but just accept that my German pronunciation isn't good.
Though if it were going out to Swiss Germans or something and I'm speaking Middle German, it'd be a lot more understandable. I can't understand Swiss Germans very well at all, so unsurprising if they can't understand me lol
