Nuts

Hummus
Red peppers
Hard boiled 🥚
Celery
Beef jerky
@@elizabethschmidt9924 pork crackling is another great snack.
good show
Snacks I currently eat besides the celery
Olives have almost zero carbs. I've taken to adding those occasionally as snacks. They can be a bit on the high side for salt so if you are watching sodium be careful with them. I split them between green and black. I'm currently undergoing cancer treatment as a diabetic so it's tough keeping sugar normal.
Homemade almond banana cookies. 2 cups of almond flour, 2 mashed up ripe bananas. Combine flour in bananas , dash of vanilla extract put 2 tablespoons about 10 times on flat baking pan covered with parchment paper , mash and round off, bake on 400 for 20 minutes. Can snack on for a few days. Can top with jam or butter or eat plain.
Can you possibly explain a little clearer for the recipe. I get lost towards the end. Thanks
Scott this is so helpful!! Keep up the great informative videos!!
Thank you so much!!!
Hello my favorite is roasted garlic hummus with baby carrots
Sounds great!
Super video, great ideas. Thanks so much.
You are so welcome!
I also have a digestive disease that makes it hard to digest any nuts and seeds. Do I throw them in the nutribullet with probiotics or something?
This was extremely helpful thank u
Love hard boiled eggs for a snack! Type1 for 50 years this year!
Definitely agree!
Did you avoid eating sugar and bread?
Will often just munch on a carrot. No insulin required. Crunch means it eats slow, so feels more substantial.
I do the same!
Is it suitable for diabetics?
Don't carrots have significant carbohydrates?😊
@@dre44r56 it's like 7%, so a whole carrot might be 5-15g of carb depending on size. I eat them much slower than a bag of chips that's for sure (& less carbs+fat!).
@roidroid Yes, I just looked it up after I asked. Thank you, I will give it a go too
Great video Scott! Keep them coming please!
Thank you so much!!
Thanks! Our son age 11 recently got diagnosed. Appreciate any tips and always looking for pointers and helpful ideas. And he’s always hungry so this is helpful:)

I eat a high fat carnivore diet to beat diabetes. I found early that hunger builds quickly if your not replacing the carbs with fats. Not vegetable oils but animal fats. So I eat lots of fatty meat and the fat starts to taste yummy after a while of your brain being rewired away from sugar.
Hooomus (my joke name for it) goes awesome with sliced warm whole meal pitta bread (if you’re due some carbs. But yeah with carrot sticks and celery etc is a lovely snack to gorge on in front of a movie 👌🏼
Just need to watch for added sugar with jerky. Some of the varieties can be sugar bombs!
Hummus is my favorite snack I make it fresh!
It's so much better than store bought.
@@mariesmith8076 what is your recipe if you don't mind?

Great video! Which nut butter is the best?
Thanks! Almond butter is usually a good choice as it has a fairly low glycemic index.
I switched over to the jif all-natural peanut butter I actually like the taste of it it's actually really good
@diabetesdailydigest I think we have to be careful with eating too many almonds due to the high natural arsenic inherent in almonds. I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading that somewhere.
Hi Scott. How many minutes do you have to wait after a meal to exercise? Also, what other snack alternative besides nuts
(I'm not crazy about nuts) do you suggest while watching a "2 hour" movie that will not spike my sugar? I love popcorn but it has a lot of carbs. Thanks.

What abt pop corns??? Are they suitable for a diabetic patient?
No
does not all food make insulin to realese?
Tbh, as a T1diabetic all I want is a natural hit of Amylin hormone 🥺. I miss being able to eat carbs and actually get a feeling of enjoyment & satisfaction from it, sigh.
I definitely feel your pain. Hopefully one day they'll figure out a cure and we can go eat some pizza and ice cream without feeling guilt lol.
