With two heart attacks and t2 diabetes, and age 76, what matters now is the same as 50 years ago. Peace of Mind. In tangible terms, this means no debt, a comfortable home and car, and a caring wife. The biggest lesson for anyone reading this early in life is there are consequences for every action and inaction we choose. Choose wisely and let the dice roll.

I’ve lived with pain since 58, now 77. I don’t want to keep on and on. I eat healthily 98% of the time, but I get fed up with every day being the same. I never ever thought I’d live to this age. I’ve been all over the world, around Australia twice, so I’ve done everything I ever wanted to do, even on a cruise ship. I’m learning acceptance at this time ❤️ God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference

Thank you for sharing your story. It takes a lot of courage to be so open and honest about your feelings. Living with chronic pain can be incredibly isolating, but your words remind us that we're never truly alone. Your journey is a testament to your strength and resilience. Remember, it's okay to not be okay sometimes. Sending you peace and comfort.

I asked a relative to drive me to the ER one morning. I felt utterly weak and fatigued, as well as feverish with night sweats - not to mention the incredible loss of weight.
The doctors gave a poor prognosis - 4 weeks ! Their diagnosis- Triple Hit Stage 4 Cancer DLBCL non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma aggressive with Cachexia , Ascites and lymphedema already ravaging my 65 year old body. I went from 175 lbs down to 105 in one week. I was in so much pain that first week that I wanted to die ! I’ve had a full and wonderful life I said and I wanted to go ! I couldn’t go on anymore. This is what I said to a figure in a dream I had the first night at the hospital.
The second night , I had the same dream . And then again on the third night. On the fourth night , it was a little different. The man in my dream said of course I couldn’t walk it alone but to take his hand and he’ll walk with me. I kept yelling and screaming no, no, no, it’s too painful I’m burning inside. The fifth sixth nights were the same with me screaming and crying that I couldn’t because there was just too much pain .
On the 7th night , after softly and gently saying to take His hand and that we would through the fires of Hell together,, - I did ! I took His hand snd we walked through Hell together!!
    That was 3 years !
After two years of treatments,, I’m in remission! No Evidence of Disease . N E D the doctors said .
    🙏🙏🙏🙏

My take on life in respect of the subject in question pertaining to what really matters when you reach ripe age or whilst lying on your death bed..
One thing that we all must understand that we were all born one day and on the same term we will go back home to our permanent residence.
When that reality is a concrete concept in your mind rather than abstract and believing in a higher power who is god Almighty, the transition will be very smooth rather than time will drag us into so many cruel processes because we don't align ourselves with the grand designers project..
One of the two things will happen in life.Either you die peacefully or die with great agony...

Thank you so much for sharing your profound thoughts on this topic 🙏. You’ve beautifully captured the importance of embracing life's impermanence and aligning with a higher purpose. I'll be 80 in June. I don't take any meds and I don't have any physical disabilities I'm aware of. Of course I haven't been to a doctor in many years and I don't like to go. I don't really like physicals and blood tests. You do a blood panel and they take 3 cylinders of blood. I'm older than the average American male lives -- so I look at the rest of my life as gravy. One thing is I'm Catholic. You think about Heaven as you get older. I see a lot of anti-Catholic bigotry on line. Mike Gendron and haters like him. It used to bother me when people like Jimmy Swaggart and Pat Robertson attacked my religion. Now I laugh at bigots. God will deal with them. They'll find out what the Bible says and means. I used to listen to comedians like George Carlin and Bill Maher attack God. Carlin died when he was 71. Christopher Hitchens died in his 60's. Be careful what you say and do. Nobody escapes death.

When my Catholic faith was stronger, I was a happier person. I have noticed that people with strong religious faith are just happier in general. I am tired of the unhappy people trying to change my faith in God.

@@e79422 Let nothing shake your faith in God. The universe arrived from an infinitesimal point called the singularity. The sun has endowed Earth with light, warmth, photosynthesis, vitamin D, stability in space, oceanic evaporation for cloud formations, and other needed benefits for billions of years -- with no need for refueling, maintenance, or repairs. The Eucharistic miracles, the Tilma, the Shroud, the Sudarium, and other relics cannot be explained by atheists -- except to make hateful, scoffing claims that are flat out lies. You're lucky. They're lost.
