    I have been fasting for 45 years.
    I do a 24 hour water fast once a month.
    Never had sugar.
    I'm 95 years old and fit as a fiddle.
    I look like I'm 40 years old.
    Life is what you make it.
    Teach the young generation these skills. Or they'll be dependent on their phones for everything.

    I know a lady who has fasted 2 days a week, every week since the 1990's. She eats a lot of raw vegetables, no animal products, no sugar and she works out 3 to 6 hours a week. She is also 73 yrs. old and very healthy. She doesn't get the flu at all nor a cold in fact she is very healthy.

      My dad ate everything, smoked too.
      He was very healthy. No blood sugar, no high blood pressure, no cholesterol, no nothing until he travelled yo the US.
      He came back with cancer. Died 6 months later.
      The US is fool of cancerous foods.
      That's why I would never travel to the US.
      I know at least 10 people who travelled to the US and came back and died of cancer.
      US should fix its food menus first.
      It's full of diseases.

      I know a man who is in his mid 50's follows no special diet, eats animal products, eats sugar and is super fit.
      He does run ultra marathons though, several per year, a 150 mile non stop run is his idea of fun exercise.

      If you put celtic salt (1,2, or 3 granules) on your tongue until dissolved before drinking water, the salt opens your cells properly for water to get in there. Most people are dehydrated without the salt trick according to Dr Barbara O'Neil. Clever lady.
      I use salt before and after drinking water. Celtic salt is delicious ❤

    I have recently started to create my own mix of Avocado, spinach, rocket, tomato's. red onion, mushroom, cucumber, all chopped up fine, added tub of cottage cheese, or a tub of low fat cheese spread, turmeric and cumin black pepper, then mix! I skip breakfast, but then I have 3 or 4 spoons of this mix for lunch. I used to have arthritis, which was so sore in the winter months! Since making this food together, I no longer have Arthritis! I am 74 years old, a carer for my wife, so I am active most of the day. Thank you for your video, we need too spread the likes of your video's on TV, instead of them hiding in the internet! To many humans are becoming lazy and ordering fast foods, which are never good for them! I have subscribed too your channel! Many thanks!!!

      Nice salad. Would suggest avoiding milk products, have chickpeas, beans, favas, etc. instead. Add cilantro.(detox mercury), oregano, parsley, purslane, garlic, cappers, olives, broccoli sprouts, Brussels sprouts... Organic mustard enhances sulphorafane. Olive oil and lime juice or ACV, a little honey.

    I love making my own chocolate so I can regulate the ingredients: raw organic cacao powder, cacao butter (in wafer form), monk fruit extract/allulose blend powder, sea salt, instant coffee, Cayenne Pepper powder, Ceylon Cinnamon powder, Five Spice powder, 1 tablespoon nut butter.
    On stove, heat over double boiler keeping temp below 115 degrees. Pour into molds and refrigerate.

    I would like to add one Indian fruit named Avla or Amla or Indian Gooseberry. It is known fact among Indian Hindus that Rishi Chyawan rejuvenated himself by eating Avla daily. He gained youth during his old age. As per Ayurveda, Avla is the only citrus taste one can eat with milk. Read Ayurveda which literally translate to Knowledge of Life.

    this makes sense. am Muslim and fast in Ramadan. I notice during Ramadan my skin looks much better, even all my blemishes clear up. I also notice that during fasting my focus and cognitive thinking is t best between ~8-15 hours of fast. After that my energy startd to go down.

    This has been probably the best presentation on hours of fasting benifits . If I do a 5- 6 hour eating. window it is doable and i get to a solid hour or 2 of Autophagy. --- I want to get to 36 hours but. can't sleep - Its too much for me. I would need to be Knocked out cold.

    I have fasted for 5 years and become a vegetarian and have done keto … I have had sarcoma for 3 years and it is terminal .. I wish a healthy diet had been the answer … I still follow the fasting and vegetarianism and always will … but for me it didn’t stop cancer or kill it … I hope it does for others ! ❤❤

    Who can not eat for 48 hours? 72?. I do change my fast times but fast everyday. Organic Costa Rica coffee,green tea. I've been using slippery elm for my gut. I was throwing up every week for three months. The elm powder fixed that up. I'm glad your video touches alot instead of searching all over❤❤❤

      My waterfast max was 96 hours. Started with many 72 hours.
      Then I did a first 24 hours hard dry fast (no handwashing, no teeth brushing, no water contact at all, because skin absorbs water) and continued with 48h waterfast.
      Last time I did 48 h hard dry fast.
      Hard dry fast gives you the benefits 3times as fast as a waterfast.
      So 24h = 72h water.
      Simply do a 24h dry now and then. Way easier than 72 hours

    A 48 fast once a week and intermittent fasting everyday for 16 hours, plant based diet only two meals a day. To lose weight the vegetables soup diet with cayenne pepper eat as much as you want to lose 1 pound a day ! Works for me !

    before you jump to resistance and hate comments, this is not a religious debate, just sharing our experience and what I notice around me. So, In Islam, we have an entire month a year, where we must fast for the whole day, from dawn to sunset. And even when breaking fast, we are advised not to eat abondently. Plus, it's instructed (not obligatory) to keep fasting Monday and Thursday. I did notice some people and even family members that keep fasting around the year (Mondays and Thursdays, or one of them) are very healthy , very energetic and mentally strong.

    Try and eat at the same time each day very important.
    Eat breakfast skip lunch, if you must have something at lunch put organic stock cube ginger turmeric black pepper add boiling water let sit 5mins then drink. Try and eat before 7pm then eat nothing until breakfast.

    I'm a breakfast eating person, I feel very dizzy and nauseated if I don't eat within the first hour of waking up. I don't ear large portions of food in a single sitting, but very small throughout the day. I have tried to fast and that's how I know I am no good at it. I do love my fruits and vegetables, but sadly don't have enough or enough variety either because food in South Africa is very expensive and both my husband and I are not employed.

      Agree fasting is not for everyone it can be dangerous to some. Breakfast is a must you need to feed your organs for energy. Skip lunch unnecessary eat dinner before 19:00h only drink bottled water with a little pure cherry juice clears the brain
      and reduces pain and clears the bowels.

    I always cook with Olive Oil. It never smokes. I never let it smoke or burn. I always add Coconut Oil in with the Olive Oil. It's Great to cook with the Combination of both Olive Oil and Coconut Oil.

      I knew a lady who had recurring breast cancer. She tried going this route with eating the right foods and fasting, etc. She passed away anyway. I was mad she didn't try the conventional way, chemo therapy etc. She would have been here still. This homeopathic way of life us healthy but doesn't cure.

      I'm right there with you brother. Only if I have a few days off can I do prolonged fasts. Better to do the one meal a day fasting if you have to do physical labor. That dinner will taste fantastic at the end of the day. Shouldn't mess with your stamina too much.

    So instead of fasting completely I drink water and eat a apple with peanut butter. I recommend egg whites in the morning, protein shake and a yogurt with magnesium, vitamin d and vitamin B12. Before going to bed, I take one multivitamin. I workout 4-5 days a week. I’m in my late 30s and I’m in better shape than most 20 year olds. Just be very careful what you eat (no sugars) and you will be healthy!

      This sounds great. Unfortunately, I'm pre-diabetic and apples 🍎 are very high sugar content. I do like that combination, too. I also used to run miles 3 to 4 times a week. I was very healthy back then too. I'm older and I see my friends gain weight and complain about their health. I told them it's because they were lazy when they were younger and refused to exercise. I still exercise but not as often.

    Also 3 white days in every month full moon days

      Don't mislead others who don't know Islamic fasting. It has nothing to do with Keto diet!!!!
      In fact, fasting in Islam is only limited to time (from sunrise to sunset, it is worth noting that a Muslim in the Middle East could fast around 11-12 hours compared to another Muslim in North Europe who could fast 16-17 hours. This fact alone make any sensible person to question the logic of a claimed universal religion that can't be applies universally).
      Islamic fasting is DRY i.e. No food, NO water and NO sex! Most Muslims spend Ramadan either sleeping during the day of working half day or less!!! After breaking their fast; Muslims eat all allowed foods including sweets (a lot of sweets associated with Ramadan e.g. Konafah, Qatiaff, etc...), does this make any sense for people ho seek better health???

    When I measure my blood glucose, it's always around 6.7 mmol/l which is almost diabetes, but my food is sugar free and low in carbohydrates in general. I just measured 6.6 mmol/l after almost 36 hours of fast.
    BTW, how do I know whether the coffee is organic and mold free? I haven't established my private home laboratory yet.

    Islamicly we hv 3 days a month we fast
    And its recommended to fast on a Monday and Thursday
    Then we hv Ramadaan

    Very informative video. I have been doing OMAD for over a year now. 23 1/2 hr fast every day. The body loves it. After two weeks you wont even want to eat crappy food, it will make you feel like sh*t.

      Blablablabla. I know many muslims and after "fast" ay nigth they smoke,eat sugar,deink vole .... Ramadan its not really "fast"... and even more dping this during a month its insane. Many religions fast, for example ...Christianity!!!!! In Egypt kopts fast more than muslims . Muslims ,Christians....or whatever know "nothing " of health, they do their dast not for health and know nothing of whats happening inside them ... dont do dawah of your cult.Use your brain and break your mental chains.

    thanks God i came through this article it's amazing and all 6 super food i have been taking particularly the sugarless black coffee for past 13 years and i had history of forgetfulness in my early 50s but I prais God the black coffee has played remarkable roll to protect my brain.the coffee i drink in instant direct from factory but as per your advise i decide to look for organic coffee and believe will benifit a lot .I have great faith in today's article.     Its lawyers great to hear about these best top foods to help, alleviate or enchance the body or help with something. Because only one ingredient! Some great ingredients if paired can have the opposite effects! That’s what we need to focus on, what pairing are great and what pairing aren’t when eating together. One ingredient isn’t enough to help with your health.

    Thanks for all the info, I have been doing fasting couple of weeks, 1-2 times a year, for past 10 years. I can tell my system gets reset every time I do it. It is good to know how the body benefits from different hours fasting which is easy to follow on a daily basis.

    They are saying that we need to fast for example, 17 hours which means we eat during a 7 hour window.

      Exactly, less hours you eat, it is better for you. It is easier to do long fasts while on a keto, carnivore diet. Just my expirace, if I eat a lit of carbohydrates feel more hungry which causes me to eat more, often, and not able to the the fast. 😊 good luck❤ try dr. Westman, dr, Berry

      I began with a 16/8 split and that meant skipping dinner,so I would eat late lunches at say 4pm then fast till 8am break-fast.Then kept increasing the window,ideally at the break-fast end up to a 10am breakfast and 4pm lunch. (6/18). After a couple of weeks your body gets accustomed to it.

    Dr. Mindy, this is very fascinating how the body heals itself while one is fasting. Is this possibly why the Buddhist are so healthy as they fast while meditating. Also many religions fast for a week to thirty days. Will definitely try to include this regimen and the foods you've mentioned for our family members.

    It's not us healing ourselves. It's us recognizing God's creation and how it work. Like reading the manual of your device you just bought and doing what the manufacturer said.

    I’ve eaten one meal a day since I’ve been born.. I’m over weight but have good fats. I don’t eat processed food pop or chips or fried foods mostly chicken and tuna. Lots of vegetables and fruits etc.

    When I fast for longer than 18 hours, my stress and cortisol hormones go way up. Stresses the body for me. I am pre diabetic.

      please do fasting that suits your need. if you are pre diabetic then you may want to consult your doctor before doing any fasting. prolonged fasting may not be great for you..
