Red Beard! Just remove that small rod that goes from the lever that attaches to the governor arm that comes out of the engine! See! Just take that rod out! That will take care of the governor! Holy moly that thing does have some tq!

I've seen a few videos of people modifying old smog pumps to be used as superchargers on minibikes and such. But as far as I know, nobody has done it with a 670cc before. You'd be the first if you did it.
I would be worried about blowing it up. There are no rebuild parts for this engine so you couldn't rebuild it.
An experienced mechanic who tinkered with these superchargers recommended not to go over 8-10 pounds of boost if the engine's compression ratio is 9:1 or higher. You can read more about them here, and email him with questions if you want. www.turborick.com/dirt.html
I'm not at all saying you don't know what your doing because you clearly do but maybe you could talk to cars and cameras on how they sorted their 670cc engine as I know they had a similar situation with their engine as you do but now it pulls so hard at top end as well as acceleration. Keep these great videos coming!
I already sorted it out in the video.
intake, turbo exhaust, turbo, cam, EFI, charging system, better gearing, might even try nitrous or water meth injection.

+Red Beard's Garage extend little red and pop the 670 on it. I think it just may put the power down better and eat it. Not that they woild be interested. Which used to bug me. I still enjoy there videos and yours but they and yourself are very different builders.

Why would I race a off road go kart against a street kart. Makes no sense why people would even compare the two. Geared for torque not top end.

So im your opinion whats the best motor size for a basic adult size buggy...thats still safe for your teenager but has plenty of power
cars and cameras welded close the front of the exhaust and drilled holes through the back so it wasn't blowing on them

I'm getting ready to build a street legal reverse trike from scratch. Would you this this motor has the potential to get me up to 65mph with somewhere around 1200-1500lbs of weight total and a cvt trans with rpm governor mods? Or would gearing it be a better choice?

its not worth all the trouble. You will not be able to tell a difference between the two engines
what gearbox do you use? I want a reverse gear on mine, but can only find gearboxes rated for 13hp

I really like your channel, you guys look like you have a lot of fun. I am 59 now, but when I was in my 20's I had a rail buggy I built out of a rail frame kit and bought an old VW for the engine and front steering and it was a blast. So recently I bought an older HammerHead go-kart that only had about twenty hours run time on it, but had sat for 5 years. I wanted something for a little fun and for my grandkids. I only paid $100.00 for it and thought I would make it my summer project. All the steering seals and tires are dry rotted and back axle is frozen, but I will take it apart and clean everything well and replace what needs replacing. Watching your channel is what got me excited, so thank you. Stay safe and keep having fun.

On the governing arm there are different spots to connect the bigger spring on the governing arm and the farther back you put it the more the governor holds out , you can do this on a stock 212 and make it go to 5000 rpm stock

Smaller sprocket will fix your issues ..you have plenty of power you dont need a big sprocket ...much faster after i put on a smaller rear sprocket...
my husband & I loved this video of the NEW 670cc Predator engine. We just recently acquired a MINI MONSTER TRUCK GO KART w/212cc Predator engine & it's speed is ok, but I think we're gonna try your CHANGING THE SPRING for the governor to see if we can get it to go a lil faster. The 670cc engine is BAD TO THE BONE & not a bad price either. Thanks for sharing

Red Beard's Garage you are cool as hell and you build sweet stuff bad ass go carts and bikes you should go in business doing this I bet you can give the side by sides a good run for there money with the stuff you build reminds me of what we do we make mini rail buggy's out of riding lawn mowers swap out the front pulleys and make them twice as fast put itp quad tires on the back and the big balloon nobby tiers that come with the manco dingo buggy's on the back and climb up anything we point them at I want. this go cart make me a deal I won't have to get a quad with one of these
Cut the muffler off and flip 180 degrees and weld back on.
put a flat slide carb on it and you will not be able to hold it in the road that's what I did.

RBG gokart is meant for offroad ..but i can guarantee it no a force to play with especially with the torque converter.

and that is true the 1964 and a 1/2 (i think?) had a terrible transmission it made in England or somewhere like that (i dont do to much history on fords) and you can not get parts. you are free to have your own opinion but i dont like fords with the acceptances of a mock 1 mustang and a 1986 ford club wagon only because my dad had one and we went to Mexico so i have some fond memories (but it broke down 4 times from oregon to mexico.
I worked at a Ford dealer and we got stuff like this sign for free all the time. Its still a good looking sign. I don't get hung up on hating on people for different car brands. I personally would never own a Mustang. But everyone is different and I respect that.

how did cars and cameras get like 45 mph out if there’s and you can get barely 10?
+Justin Carter mine is geared low and goes 30mph with the governor. With out the governor and bigger tires we will hit over 40mph. It doesn't matter ours it a completely different kart. Off road vs asphalt kart.

Since that thing has lots of power you should really try to make it quiet. Like run a stock sport bike exhaust on it
Hey Greg, My son & I installed that manual clutch yesterday, all thats left to complete the job is routing and connecting the cable. We had to torch 1/2 half of a 1" round tube away to allow enough room for clearance for the chain. Other than that, after watching YOUR insulation video of the clutch, it was a smooth install. We ent to the site for the clutch and it was down for, I guess maintenance , but I told my son " I would rather follow RBG'S install instructions anyway .
Anyway a huge ATTA BOY & Thumbs up to Greg & RBG'S channel for the go kart hobbyists needs.

I want to know the top speed with the 670. because I'm looking to buy one for my go cart to make it street legal. but where I live, requires for it to go over 55mph
Well this kart is geared low for torque so it doesn't matter what mine goes. You would just gear high so you will get the speed you want
Ok not just got to have a hemi head I've got JT head stainless valves retainers etc just think need to be lapped again and can't get them to release got too much money in it to start beating on it

Install a spring loaded chain tensioner so you don't have to worry about stretched chain ruining your day .Very easy mod to do .

Take the master cylinder apart if you can't get the brakes to work, we had the same problem with my go kart
I dig this thing... remove the gov dual carbs, headers, fuel pump and springs then let the girl eat!!
I would go with just a little bit bigger tire on the back and build a bigger bumper for lights on the front and behind the seats.
Already went 4" bigger tires all the way around. Video up Friday on the 670
