I'm coming back to watch this from the end of 2021amd this is amazing I know I'm not like connected to them in anyway but I am so proud to see them grow and to see Ike change his style a bit lol
When I was a kid I had a kart similar to this one with a cage over the 10hp motor that acted as a roll cage and dirt bike handlebars/throttle/brakes with wheel barrow tires on the front and fat knobby tires on the back. You couldn't keep the front end down without weights and even then the front wheels had such poor grip it just pushed you through the corners. So sketchy. So fun. I wish I still had it, but it's probably best that I don't. I cant even count how many times the throttle got stuck wide open and made me run into something or hit a bump so fast it flipped the back end over the front. Good times... good times. I should build another one.
+mitchell robinson That's odd. I was under the impression that it was a 3 stroke hot bulb steam single cylinder radial electricity cooled diesel. With V-tec, of course.
If you end up painting it black, try out *VHT Roll Bar & Chassis Paint*. I have been using it for years and it holds up great. I used the satin black on my Jeep chassis, bumpers, and half doors. Also on my Freightliner chassis, axles, and suspension. I have used the gloss black on a flatbed car hauler. Advance Auto Parts usually has it in stock.
Fuck no it won't be fine 10 years behind the times and going way too slow and way too scared of it there's nothing fine about this!!!!!????????? Where have all these people been their whole lives honestly that far under a big pile of rocks?
I've been watching Cars and Cameras now for a few months and this older video is strange since the guys are so much younger and have so little experience compared to more recent stuff. And seeing John with a chubby face and Ike with longer hair is mind warping
10:44 *mildly frustrated* "did I ask you not to break the drill bit? "Yeah you did ask me not to break the drill bit..." I love this. He's so calm haha
Decades ago my friends and I built go-karts from used "fun-town" go-karts. The common thing to do was use a snowmobile engine, and lengthen the frame about a foot in the center. 12hp 250cc Bombadier engine with torque converter was mild. 640cc twinn cylinder Herth snowmobile engine with twinn carbs turned 130 mph in the 1/8th mile (I saw the time card). 750cc Kawasaki 2cycle triple motorcycle engine only turned 85mph in the 1/8th mile because the gearing was wrong, but it sure got to 85mph in a hurry! 440cc fan cooled snowmobile engine twinns were the most fun and versatile for black lines left on the pavement and pinning you to the seat while still being "mostly" driveable. My personal go-kart was the moped of the bunch with a 50cc Chrysler 2-stroke it took FOREVER to get up to speed with no torque converter, but I could pick the whole go-kart up under one arm and walk away with it. You have a fun channel to watch, that brings back memories. That 650 twinn you're running sounds cool, but really is awfully lame. But that's probably a good thing - by the looks of the frame you've got it mounted on.
Interesting, but very "agricultural". In NZ, we race grass/dirt karts with proper frames like circuit karts. My Suzuki RM250 powered machine had a computer programable CDI and a flat-shift switch on the gear stick. Useful for changing gears under full throttle with the front wheels in the air, as it did out of most corners. Yours may be fun, but it ain't the sort of 46HP, 9500 RPM experience I had!
+Peter van Brucken Really? Wow! thats realky not bad at all. I have to wonder though whether we here in the states could get it for anywhere near that price. Karts here are generally seen as kids toys not as serious racing machines so for the most part here things like that are more expensive. Thanks for the info!
+Aiden john Law I don't think they installed the new brakes yet and just stuck with the drum ones for now and I think they could fix the acceleration with a simple counter weight on the front
Horsepower is just a number mathematically calculated. What you'll realize eventually is that what really matters is torque, when and where it happens and for how wide in the rpm range.
What you said is exactly what horsepower measures...how much torque at a given RPM. Just because it's "mathematically calculated" doesn't mean it's not a real indicator of power. You "torque is king" people drive me nuts with your ignorance 🤦♂️
All I see is a second disclaimer and hear that they are adjusting the governor... 2 minutes later a man is screaming on a runaway 22hp go cart with his buddy behind him chasing the kill switch. LMFAO
when I heard the way you spoke about your sponsors it was genuine most of the time when TH-camrs talk about sponsors you can hear how fake it is and that it's only for money and because of that you have a new subscriber great videos
I bought a Manco Dingo for 300$ bought new tierods and tie rod ends, a new 212 and stage 1 kit, new front tires and wheels have just over 500$ in it. It's been a blast!
I love the work you guys put in to this kart. It was my inspiration to build one for my self and start my own channel to show some of the work I'm doing. Thanks guys keep up the good work.
FYI: for future projects before figuring out how to make it go like hell, figure out how to stop it. This is a basic design philosophy to all engineering. Is that the operator of ANY machine regardless of their operating knowledge can determine how to turn it off without prior instruction. Such as a large RED kill button mounted in the middle of the steering wheel that is labeled STOP. Sooner or later it will prevent someone from being hurt. Then have fun
You guys should of just lengthened the whole go car, this is a child's go cart, nothing is in the right place for an adult. I personally would of just built the go cart from scratch.
Isaac Jennette I don't know what your plans are for the fuel tank, but I would consider putting it under the seat, and you could add a roll bar while you are at it too.
+David l Your bike is a two stroke. It revs very high and makes good power for its size, but makes much less torque. This engine is a four stroke. It revs low and makes poor power per cc, but it makes tons of torque.
+Jackson Elfers haha what? what do else "rich kids" with interest in cars do? this is EXACTLY what you do when youre a rich kid who also just so happens to enjoy DIY and engines and shit
Hey John and Isaac,,,,,I called Go Power Sports for the very first time today to get some prices on some go kart parts and I can't believe how rude the sales rep was towards me....!! Not only was he very rude, but also it seemed as if he was rushing me off the phone,,,which in turn got me all flustered and confused on what I wanted to maybe order. I am not blaming you guys at all for Go Power Sports behavior...I absolutely love you guys and all your vidz,,,,I'm just Saying....I will not be ordering anything from them in the future....!! Thanks John and " It'll be fine Ike" lmao
SWEET! I just learned how to sharpen a drill bit :) Thanks guys, consider me subscribed. Sweet butt house and awesome garage! Someone has old money :) Happy for you guys and love the maker aspect of your site. Want to talk about the build? .......... UH ........ lol great on camera presence Dillon.
Hi guys, How about taller tires front & back on the Yerf Dog & widen the stance of the truck by 6 inches on each side front & back . Just a thought. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for having all that fun & sharing it with us.
- which torque converter did you use ??? - did you make the plate which holds the clutch and driven parts? I'd love to have this motor on an old Cushman which has a series 20 and small motor,
I'm coming back to watch this from the end of 2021amd this is amazing I know I'm not like connected to them in anyway but I am so proud to see them grow and to see Ike change his style a bit lol

If you do, make some videos and post them.
I really wanted to see that takeoff from Ike’s perspective
Yeah
I believe that engine is a flat 4 twin turbo rotary from a mustang.
+mitchell robinson flat 9 i think
single valve v-flat 12 hemi 2-stroke
+mitchell robinson That's odd. I was under the impression that it was a 3 stroke hot bulb steam single cylinder radial electricity cooled diesel. With V-tec, of course.
+Nick Belanger most likely ya
+mitchell robinson I thought it was a v7 twin turbo rotary with vtec and nos from a camaro.
If you end up painting it black, try out *VHT Roll Bar & Chassis Paint*.

The catch-phrase of CarsandCameras; "Oh, it'll be fine." :D
23:54 LMFAO! Glad you're ok, but God that was funny!!!
when you're drilling into metal use a low speed and a shot of oil and your bits won't turn to crap.
is that a gallo 12 or a gallo 24???
+Nick Burazin "24." "I didn't know pizza places made engines."
Hey seriously I can't work with he..
proemile Only my home boys call me Rome...
"Ejecto Seato Cuz!!!"
Nick Burazin That Hemi is pushing out about 425, and that Yenko will snap a speedo in five seconds flat.
Wheelie bar time! PLEASE DO THIS

+Mw3TheOriginal I think a wheelie bar is an excellent idea!!
what about a spoiler
I've been watching Cars and Cameras now for a few months and this older video is strange since the guys are so much younger and have so little experience compared to more recent stuff. And seeing John with a chubby face and Ike with longer hair is mind warping
10:44 *mildly frustrated* "did I ask you not to break the drill bit?

I would love to see some lawn mower tires on the back hahaha

@2:44 Ike is a Moai from Easter Island!! I am glad, Ike, you lost the beard and long hair look.
You look more professional now.

remember that time you guys relocated the shop and then never really relocated the shop?
+BAMAJiPS Yep. We still hope to move out there permanently. We need to beef up security and buy tools and get better lighting.
Interesting, but very "agricultural". In NZ, we race grass/dirt karts with proper frames like circuit karts. +Peter van Brucken sounds awesome!
I'm sure it's fun but I am also pretty sure it's about a hundred times more expensive, lol.
Only cost around NZ$2,500.00 to put together, so not that bad.
+Peter van Brucken Really? Wow! thats realky not bad at all. I have to wonder though whether we here in the states could get it for anywhere near that price. Karts here are generally seen as kids toys not as serious racing machines so for the most part here things like that are more expensive. Thanks for the info!
I would like to see how your going to fix the brake problem and acceleration problem
+Aiden john Law I don't think they installed the new brakes yet and just stuck with the drum ones for now and I think they could fix the acceleration with a simple counter weight on the front
What acceleration problem
+José Villa the wheelies I'm assuming.
There is no such problem as a acceleration problem. Maybe if its sloww
+BF4_Legion that is an opinion. The cart has a problem with over acceleration and traction lifting the cart, so therefore a problem with acceleration.
I thought the frame was gonna split in the middle at 25:53 lmao great job
So I just joined in watching your more recent stuff and I’m so used to your looks now. Man Ike’s beard is killing me 🤣 he’ looks like a great time!
lmao @24:07 that was priceless lol i literally lol
Luis Canino only funny because he lived!
"don't do what we do" but where to buy the torque converter is in the description :)
First there was tebowing. Then was faith hilling. Now finally Vin Disealing
Just found you a couple of weeks ago and going back and watching some old videos. What a hoot, these early vids look like Bill and Ted.
this is probably the funnest channel I've watched.
The engine in that truck look like an average small block, however I did notice the 327 double hump powerpack heads 😎
Is it just me who burst out laughing when it took off
put really big offroading tires on it and go mudding
What is the name of the frame because I got a go cart like that and some one f*** up the metal . It was so close to being junk yard sh*t
The yard cookies portion was EPIC. LIKE A BOSS.
I have one question. Have you guys ever considered making a drift trike?
+colton quade yes we have
+Isaac Jennette Are you gonna do it?
we talk about it from time to time
that would be pretty cool but its all up to you guys
+Isaac Jennette Please do it!!
Horsepower is just a number mathematically calculated. What you'll realize eventually is that what really matters is torque, when and where it happens and for how wide in the rpm range.

+Nicholas Stetzel nope
+Liam Bennett yep. lol
+Nicholas Stetzel 400 small block

All I see is a second disclaimer and hear that they are adjusting the governor... 2 minutes later a man is screaming on a runaway 22hp go cart with his buddy behind him chasing the kill switch. LMFAO

I love looking back on these videos and seeing the lower quality camera footage, and of course john without a beard. 😂

Love y'all guys videos and builds u do. But I will have to admit that was really funny when it took off like that. Keep up the great builds and videos
Good grief this is so wild! Thoroughly enjoying your content.
that random take off though.....
+Craig Reeves Terrifying.
+Craig Reeves Kinda why in an industrial setting EVERYTHING has an EMO button...emergency off.
You guys should of just lengthened the whole go car, this is a child's go cart, nothing is in the right place for an adult. I personally would of just built the go cart from scratch.
+FullSpectrum Survivalist we are not done yet
Isaac Jennette I don't know what your plans are for the fuel tank, but I would consider putting it under the seat, and you could add a roll bar while you are at it too.
Yea, I'd have cut in front of the seat or right behind it and added like a foot
how the heck is that possible.... that motor has 600+ cc but only has 22 HP, my rm85 makes 24hp and its only 85 cc
+David l Your bike is a two stroke. It revs very high and makes good power for its size, but makes much less torque. This engine is a four stroke. It revs low and makes poor power per cc, but it makes tons of torque.
Ok thanks
That needs to be the logo on your Cars and Cameras t-shirts - "It'll be fine."
ive started doing random go kart videos like these on my channel, theyre the best things to mess about on!!! love the videos guys!!!
RustyLock where?

Nice 300zx you have there! Keep up the good work.

Hello is that 40 series backing plate the same as the 30 series ?
Most beautiful garage I’ve ever seen.😲😲😲😲
is there a chance that you could make a short video on how to adjust the governor?
Hey John and Isaac,,,,,I called Go Power Sports for the very first time today to get some prices on some go kart parts and I can't believe how rude the sales rep was towards me....!! Do that project looks like a lot of fun go-karts pretty nice good stuff
how did you band brakes hold up!? i have band brakes on my kart but they cant even stop my 6.5 honda.
I like your truck, and that motor is humorouslly huge. Make it chooch
My most favorite things are guns mini bikes and go karts. These guys are awesome keep the vids up
+Noah Bird thanks
start timed at 18:47-18:57....Chevy 350 or 396 with a either Eldebrock 650cfm or 750 cfm 4 barrel carb. "must need power"!!
WOW. Come a long way. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for having all that fun & sharing it with us.
where did you get the sprocket hub and collars?? building a manco thunderbird atm and need something like that
@24:00 is the best moment in the history of CarsandCameras
Oh my that mullet is FABULOUS.
each time I watch your videos it makes me want a go kart even more and more
I'm trying to understand. My bike has a 599cc 4 stroke engine and makes 119 bhp...how does this thing only make 22hp??
That thing runs like its on FIRE! Holy crap
- which torque converter did you use ??? - did you make the plate which holds the clutch and driven parts? I'd love to have this motor on an old Cushman which has a series 20 and small motor,
+karlsonkab51 i think its a 40 series from gopowersports
