What a fantastic lesson! - Thank you Greg. I still can’t believe that lessons of this class are free. What I would urge others to the Channel, especially in this unprecedented difficult time for all musicians, that in appreciation of the tremendous quality of this and Greg’s other lessons, that you visit Greg’s website where you can buy him a ‘coffee’ (or something stronger).
Great lesson, excellent explanation. Once you get these scales under your fingers, nipping in and out of both major to minor, minor to major really adds a colourful addition to ones playing. I applaud your use as an example of Clapton’s “Knocking on Heavens Door” as it targets G as a get back to note starting the next phase. Really helps one’s ear tuning, playing the progression and getting back to the rootnote on the beat!! Once one has this nailed you can add a little fill and get back to the target note, in this case G, keeping in perfect time of the song. Thanks for such a great lesson.👍
Hi Greg I learn so much from these sessions......not sure I will always get to use them consciously, but friends have noticed my skill level has improved generally since I have been watching your lessons. Thank you
Hi John, Really glad the lessons are helping you. A lot of what I teach are concept, and once they are learnt, they should hopefully always be there. So not a problem that you are not necessarily using them consciously. I appreciate your feedback, as I know I'm doing something right!
In this example in G, I note that you play the 3rd, B, on the E string. I’m wondering if there’s an advantage to this rather than playing the B on the A string?
Great question. The advantage of playing in this position rather than the more traditional fingering with B on the A string is that it's a lot easier to slide into notes when playing fills in this position. You can also move up the fretboard more easily when playing the scale across two octaves. It's good to know both fingering positions though for different situations.
@@Trupial sorry about that. It should be working but occasionally the automation fails. Can you email me via the website and I’ll send you the PDF - gbshed.com

I have just repaired the link for this free PDF, so should be working fine now. Sorry about that!
More great tips thanks Greg. I’ll have fun finding places for these riffs and trying to start them on other than the root note.
