OK, if you want to be Shania Twain you first have to be Eileen Twain. You have to grow up dirt poor, eating mayonnaise sandwiches and tribal moose burgers in the middle of the Canadian wilderness. You have to spend your summers in high school planting trees to help out your dad. And then when your parents get killed by a lumber truck, you have to raise your younger brothers in a cabin with no hot water while you try and invent Shania Twain. Eileen deserves all the success Shania can get.

I am not dismissing or minimizing what she went through at all, I just don't understand the connection. (Also, just fyi as far as my competing for victimhood, I'm 56 and that's the first time in my life I have ever mentioned any of the abuse that happened to me on any social media platform. As a matter of fact, until now, the only people other than family I ever told about any of it was in counseling. Before you make a judgment about someone, be sure you know what you're talking about.)

But, it only hit number 11 on Billboard Charts... which is impressive, but "Any Man of Mine" shot to number 1... It was also the song that got all the rewards... However, I do agree with you that "Boots" helped prime the success of "Any Man of Mine"... Both videos were hot, but "Boots", while certainly memorable, was just a stepping stone hit for her to hit the big time... It was "Any Man of Mine" that got her there...

Mutt Lange, her husband who cheated on her with her best friend. In a fantastic twist, after a time, Shania fell in love with and married her best friends ex husband. They're still together. And, yes, she had/has? a Vegas residency.

Do more of her original music videos. Like someone else said, that's what made her a star. Some of these performances are after she had some damage to her vocal cords (or her voice, somehow), so she's not going to sound as good as she did prior to that either.

Careful, Shania is an absolute sweetheart and she may agree to adopt you. I've met her twice, my former boss is her cousin and his parents were basically her second set of parents after a rough upbringing, and she was a genuine sweetheart.
Also the original video of the song called the woman and me she's freaking gorgeous. They always asked her why she didn't model and she said because she was Too short. And she's one of the most beautifulest women in the world back in The nineties she was the number one country pop artist in the world. I saw her 3 times in concert 2 in the nineties and then she had her come back tour in 2015.

Britt, when she did her shows in the 90's there used to be local singing contests promoted by local radio stations. The winner in a particular market would then get an opportunity to perform a Shania song on stage with her. One of those singers who won the contest in Ottawa, Canada in 1998 or 99 became famous herself. her name is Avril Laveign. She was 14 at the time. Check out her stuff.

In the 90s Shania Twain was known as the bad girl of country music. But in the 2000's sometime she got Lyme disease and didn't put out any albums or tour for like 15 years then she had to have throat surgery to get her voice back. She is still one of my top performers even though she only has about 80% or so of her voice back. You need to watch her concerts and videos from the 90s maybe early 2000's also, that's when she's at her absolute best
You know she's on tour later this year. Pricey though. She'll be in Fort Worth, Texas.

That was from her Vegas Residency in 2012-14 it was the first time she was back on stage since 2004. She' then did 2 tours in 2015 and 2018. The one in 2015 (rock this country) was supposed to be her farewell world tour but then she released her first new album since 2002 called NOW and did her NOW tour in 2018. She missed touring too much to quit. And now she's get her LETS GO Vegas Residency going

As far as Shania, I have loved her since I first heard her. Her videos are great, but the songs are really great. The live Vegas show was probably the best and most expensive shows done in Vegas. She is pretty much in charge of all planning for the show. The one you watched here, the female backup singer is her younger sister and the guys ( twins) are family friends. I have a DVD of her Vegas show Still the One where she enter singing I'm Gonna Getcha suspended on a motorcycle and an outfit that you'd love.
I can't make it to her shows because I can't afford to and I really don't like crowds or understand all the yelling so I get the DVDs. I think I have everyone and I really enjoy her and Leann Rimes. They both have great voices and great back stories of they're lives.
