@@e.gadd.1 Well if the car still runs "OK" , run it down to to a 1/4 tank and follow the Cataclean directions for 1/4 tank etc. A clogged or gone catalytic converter wont mess up the engine itself, IMO, unless the computer really doesn't like it and then the engine won't run/dies by computer caused timing adjustments/gas ignition/exhaust ratios. But I don't think you will damage the engine physically just running the gas down with normal usage to the product spec directions. 2 or 4 bottles on a full tank? Call Cataclean and ask them. Check engine light came on my jeep wrangler used this as directed light went out after a day or so for about a month it came back on. P 430 it runs good
I got a call from my mechanic and told my cat converters needed to be replaced for $5000. A bottle of this following directions and an hour afterwards my code is cleared. Fingers crossed!
I've used cataclean on my Mercedes over a year ago and it worked. I confirmed the cat was bad by pressure testing and by temperature. The front of cat was 650 degrees and rear was 325 at running temp. I really didn't follow the instructions I did my own thing for best results. Here are the steps I did. Make sure engine is fully heat soaked not just at running temp according to water temp. I added product to 3 gallons of gas. For 5 minutes I drive with rpms at 3750 in low gear at slow speeds. I then drove 10 to 15 minutes on highway like roads. Followed by another 5 minutes of slow speeds in low gear with rpms around 3500. For a minute I brought it up 4,000 rpm. I got gas as directed but parked car and let product heat soak for 12 hours. After that just drive car normally and hope for the best. I used this over a year ago in my car and still haven't had to replace catalytic converter. I've also used this product in 21 different cars with it having success in 16 of them. The time frame on how long it will last does vary. Some cars it has been 2 years and still going strong. Others it only lasted 2 months.. Just so everyone knows this product will not help a cat that is broken or fully clogged. It will only help if your cat is just starting to go or is only partially clogged. Even then there is no guarantee that it will work for your. As a last resort it's worth trying.
Rattling means something is loose or broken. The rattle can be a heat shield or broken hardware, I would check that out first. If it's not that then most likely the honey comb came apart or is just starting. It will not work for that at all.
One thing that most people are not really aware of...the Cat clogs up when your engine uses oil. Most people on here regularly change their oil, but most do NOT change their PCV valve. If this valve fails, your engine may well be sucking up oil into the intake. If you have to clean your Cat, change your PCV valve. It's Cheap, and it just might prevent it from doing it again.
Interesting. I’m a 2011 Hyundai accent original owner p2096 too lean detected on 2nd sensor but certain things I’ve never once changed such as pcv valve and fuel filter which I think should be changed I also wanna try a bottle of cataclean even tho I’ve never gotten a cat code before, because my car is starting to go thru sone oil now and once there was a liquid coal substance out the exhaust on the ground when I reved it to max in the parking lot. Also spelling reved with 2 v’s should be illegal and punishable by law :) one v will do. 2 looks like a silly W.
I am in absolute disbelief that this little bottle fixed my catalytic converter, I have never seen water drip from the exhaust during a cold start ever not even when my 2014 equinox was new and today not only did it fix the p0420 code so far after a week but also made water come out! There wasn’t no way I was replacing that thing at 60k miles
I have a 2016 Acura MDX. My p0420/0430 lights came on a few days ago. I used a bottle of this with a quarter tank gas and then drove around San Diego for about an hour and a half and the lights went off. Refueled and I’m about 50 miles into the new gas. Will update later for longevity.
@@washnote1042 yea, light came back on a couple of more times after few days after I put the can. Then it went off again and has been off for a long time without coming on. I took it to a shop to have it fixed and the mechanic told me it was fine and if I had already passed smog and the vehicle doesn’t have any issues besides the light then it could wait awhile. Light is still off though for now 🤷🏽♂️
@@nicobythebeach1Thanks for the update, i have both P0420/P0430 codes on a Lexus and really don’t wanna pay so much for a new cat, i’ll definitely give it a try
I put a bottle in a 2008 lexus ls 460 and after clearing the code it came back. Then a week later it went off on its own. Came back for 1 day or 2 then went off again for 2 days straight. I immediately took the car for a emission test and it passed and light didn't come back on. It definitely works. Before using cataclean the light stayed on constantly
Using the catalytic cleaner hack for our Kia Rio (with the Lacquer thinner) I was able to clear the code. Ended up returning this product without using it. I used two gallons of thinner on two consecutive applications to a half tank. I’d catalytic is not destroyed these chemical would work. Be patience. I passed my emission test this morning in California. I’m very happy to have saved ( for now) the cost of replacing it. It’s not cheap!
This product has saved me over $1900 dollars, after the first try on my 2021 Ford transit the check engine light was still on but after 500 miles I tried another bottle and boy oh boy my check engine light is gone and car is driving very smooth.
On a long holiday trip, check engine light came on and used my OBD testing module I had along for the trip. Drove another 150 miles to help drain the gas tank to about 4 gallons including reserve after buying this product. As it turned out I had O2 sensor error codes for sensor below cat converter; and followed directions on this product exactly. It worked. Code was cleared and has not come back yet. Check engine light finally 'off'.
You just saved me $1,300. This gray bottle cost me $26 well worth it. I hadn’t did this since I had the Kia soul. It wasn’t going over 45 mph. Now almost an hour later it goes 70 or more. Glad I went to TH-cam. Tks Phillips Oh yeah!!! FIRED ‼️‼️‼️ my mechanic. He looked and said I need to replaced them.
That’s great you got your check engine light to turn off. But if you want to fix your car in the long run you are still probably going to need to figure out what is causing your catalytic converter to get clogged. That is going to require someone doing a diagnosis on it. Otherwise you will have to keep using cata clean every time it gets clogged and the light comes back on.
The place I bring my car told me I needed the cat changed. Based on my mileage, it probably wouldn't be a bad plan. They didn't tell me I could use this stuff, but when I later asked them about it they told me all about it. They said they can't guarantee it will work so they don't use it. That sounds reasonable. I would be much less likely to use them if, after I asked them about it, they just tried to downplay it but then it worked.
Worked for me on a 2004 Audi TT 6 cyl. Check engine light stayed off for a couple of low mileage years. Just came back with Catalyst System: Bank 2 Efficiency Below Threshold. Dealer quote for replacement back then was $2500. Don't want to ask now so have just bought another bottle of Cataclean at Auto Zone where Bob ran the scan. With Military Discount total was $24.43. Fingers crossed. Thanks for video.
This thing works like a miracle in cleaning my catalyic converter. It took two cans to clean my catalyic converter but I put a third can for certainty! I had to run my car for over 20 miles before the check engine light disappears. It's expensive though ($25.49 each). If i put it in before I refuel, my SUV runs like a sports car!
This stuff works. All it does is oxidize the build up then remove it. It's not going to " blow it up" lmao. Most times a bad plug or plug wire will cause that build up from your engine not burning the fuel completely.
I cant believe cleared my P1157 code..and made my car noticeably run like it used to.. 1999 Mustang GT, 38,317 origional miles…car was left to sit and rot since 2006, due to troubles I had , mice and rats are wires and vacume lines, and urinated in exhaust…(most likely urinated in Catalytic converters and 02 sensors ) i added a bottle of this yesturday , and it cleared every code I had …I cant believe it…also..I added one bottle to a full tank not 4 gallons..since my fuel guage does not work , so it would be hard for me to know when I had 4 gallons And this still worked ..im going to add another bottle of this
I used Rislone cat cleaner and it seems to have worked, but, I drove the car about a 150 miles in one trip! Varying engine speeds it seems to have cleaned up and the Service Engine Soon light is off. I will run it again when I get close to my Smog time
I have a 2015 Kia Rio and I used CRC Valve and throttle body cleaner to clean the valves. And it says to use the whole can which I did. Then they tell you to let sit for an hour to soak which CRC says to do. Sure did smoke alot after I took off 😂. But when accelerating the car will act like it wants to stall. When doing this cylinder #4 threw a code saying a misfire. When driving back home the engine was really struggling to shift fron 2nd to 3rd gear. Put my code reader on and it said cylinder #4 was misfiring and thats O2 sensor and catalitic converter was blow threshold. Well I put a meter on the coil pack and showing it was bad. Replaced the pack and all the codes had cleared. Sometimes one code will give a false on other parts. Been driving for over 2 weeks and the other 2 codes never came back on. Just replacing the spark pluge coil pack saved me $100's of $$$$$. Car runs very smoothe. The Kia dealer in Cookville Tennessee said they never seen a Rio run that smooth before. I was there for other unrelated reason (a recall for the ECM).
"upstream sensor bouncing up and down normally" only applies if it is a narrow band (same as the downstream which is always narrow band.) ECU adds and subtracts fuel slightly every 1 sec or so to make sure sensor can catch that in order to keep fuel trim within range. Nowadays they use fuel ratio sensor (wideband) for upstream and watching the current, thus no more up and down.
my ml350 MB triggers P0174 and P0171 my mechanic cannot locate the issue, I have a seal to replace in the Brake booster, it is a vacuum seal, could this be triggering the codes? and thank you for you time and help!
6:40 Not only does cataclean NOT work, (I tried it twice) but it's ACTUALLY JUST LACQUER THINNER. Open a bottle of cataclean, smell it, then open a can of lacquer thinner, smell that, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Instead of using this 16 oz bottle of b.s., mix 1 quart of lacquer thinner for every 5 gallons of gasoline (2 quarts for 10 gallons, etc.) and watch it actually work. The higher concentration will actually clean all your deposits much better, and I promise you, it WILL NOT DAMAGE ANYTHING INSIDE YOUR ENGINE. Both me, and the O'Reillys parts counter guy agree, not only did cataclean not work, but it's just lacquer thinner, and the higher concentration of lacquer thinner did, in fact, work much better in both our vehicles. Cataclean is a scam. You're paying $220 for a gallon of lacquer thinner (pro-rated).
Hey sir, thanks so much for taking all the time to do this! Seriously, valueable info and taught me a lot about a subject I don't know about and was done pretty scientifically as far as removing other variables and giving it a true test.
I used this 2 month ago on my 2007 X5 and have not had the code come back since. The code would pop up every few hundred miles before using. The car has 215, 002 miles as of today, and purrs.
this stuff does work well, it will raise exhaust temps way high, like 1200 degrees and burn all the carbon and deposits from your converter so the plates can contact the exhaust again, just do not do it on a turbocharged engine, it will cook the oil on the turbo shaft and lock it up
Had a P040 P030 codes on my 2013 Nissan Frontier VS V6 with 97,235 miles. I got the gas tank down to 1/4 tank put in Cataclean and drove it for about 40+ miles but didn’t do anything. Time to change the catalytic converters. My truck has two up front and two in the rear.
It didn't work in my wifes car. Followed the directions and light never went off. After 200 miles i disconnected the battery to reset the light. It came back on after a few miles and ended up buying a new catalytic converter for $1100
@@ljweede9328 I'm not sure but the light was on for over a year when I tried it. They say money back guarantee but you have to show proof of a failed smog test. I didn't want to fail the test and have the state put me on a list of failing cars
I read all comments ! Took notes, good information in comments. Bottom line….. $28. For a can of Cataclean. Vs. $2,000. To $2,800. For a New York State ….. C.A.R.B. Catalytic Converter. A E.P.A. Is cheaper, but will not pass pollution emissions inspection ! So try a can !
@@jamesjeff4952 no, you’ll need the car to complete a full drive cycle or you will automatically fail. Usually a full drive cycle consists of driving over 50mph and multiple starts and stops. I usually wait after driving about 50 miles unless you have a scanner that tracks an emissions test
I've used Cataclean for 2 years on a 2014 Grand Cherokee. Passed emissions both times after having P0420 code B1S2 present. I put Cataclean in with about 4 gallons of gas and followed directions running it down to near empty. I then put in 10 gallons of gas and added a gallon of Lacquer Thinner and then drove it normally for a couple of days, no lights came on so went in and passed emissions.
Did you pass the emissions test with the 10/1 gas lacquer thinner mix in the Cherokee, or did you use that mix up and re filled the tank with fresh gas before the test? My Cherokee just failed and I got one re try. Thank's 👍
Tried it on an early 2000’s Impala. It didn’t work for me. I have a 2013 Ford F150 5.0 that has been throwing a cat code. It seems to go away and stay gone as long as I’m running fuels with high detergents Exxon/Mobil/ Shell with Sea Foam or Berryman’s fuel additive. The code will clear and stay gone until I start running lower grade fuel.
I had reaserched on net. First I used one and drove car for 200 miles straight. No chnage. Then bought a Seafom and drove back 200 miles, no change, then used the extender for Bank 1 Sensor 1 or 2 what ever is after the C Converter on my 2009 Prius with only 120 Miles but is not driven often. No Change. I used extender at brother's car Toyota Camry 2005, 235, 000.00 with L. Thinner, drove 250 Miles each way, also used the C Converter Bottle but no Change. Today in my Prius used an off market converter and it did not work. My new sensor by the C Converter is after Market. Cleaning old C Converter to see if can put back and see what happens. Any Suggestions, please help me. Code P420. I would not WASTE MONEY ON THIS C CLEANER. Thank You
So I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty and it was running OK with 90K miles..... then I put Berrymans B12 in the tank just as a "why not do a cleaning". But then the problems started! Just the day after this, I started having engine trouble: Random misfires, blinking engine light that comes and goes. When it blinks, definite drop in power. Replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils, no change. Definitely have the P0420 P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshhold and Oxygen Sensor codes, random misfires. Right now when I start the engine, I have about 3 or 4 flashing engine light episodes and drop in power for the first 5 minutes or so. Then the engine runs OK. The only thing I can think of at this point is the Berrymans broke up gunk which now has the "cats" dirty and they need to be cleaned? Would this make sense. And if so would CATACLEAN help, or is there a better product out there?
You have a 20 Y/O Jeep Liberty. I amazed it lasted that long. First off I would suggest using non-ethanol gas for a couple tanks (and permanently ;), and then try the cataclean stuff or Beriamns again. 20 y/o Liberty , your catalitic converter is probably gone or funked up. Use good gas (non-ethanol) and see , it might help .
While I know what you did by looking up the MSDS. Using Xylene in a DYI app might void the car warranty and might well totally kill a car, THAT STUFF WILL EAT FUEL LINES/plastic gas tanks/etc. . Cataclean is listed as only 30-50% xylene per its MSDS Now as far as HEET red, that is just 100% "Methanol" according to its MSDS😉. And is an anti-freeze for fuel lines. It is really not anything else. and it is not a catalytic converter or even a fuel injector cleaner. It is alcohol basically. I think you are wasting money , unless you have gas line freezing issues. HEET won't do chit for anything else For other fuel problems I suggest STP Gas Treatment/fuel injector cleaner . 😎 But this Catacean stuff , (though $25 a bottle ) works on many Cat.Conv. issues ,and won't void a warranty. ----------------------------------------- Be careful with that Xylene stuff, it is toxic, soaks though skin, and highly flammable, it is one of the best paint removers/solvents there is, but I would not be pouring the stuff into a Car's gas tank for anything. Unless that gas tank was "antique" and metal and sitting on a bench and you are trying to remove some gunk on the inside It would/will eat plastic/rubber fuel lines/gas tanks/etc. . It eats even car paint nicely. I know Xylene😎, and IIRC. it is/was about $25 a quart 20 years ago. $25 ? a gal, today maybe in5gal cans for commercial purposes , IDK. ============================ IMO you're either trolling , or don't know anything , or ARE just trying to intentionally to mess up people's cars by suggesting using 100% Xylene in a car motor/gas tank for catalytic converter /fuel issues.
This is what worked for me after the dealer told me that my catalytic converter needs replacement with PO430 @2800. 1. Buy cataclean and seafoam with spray tube. 2. Remove the the first O2 sensor then spray the whole can of seafoam into the catalytic converter. 3. Pour in the Catclean in a quarter tank fulll of gas. 3. Rev the car @2000rpms for five minutes without driving it 4. Drive the car at highway speed for 15 mins, you will see the mpg improve tremendously. 4. Fill the tank with gas and drive normally. 5. Repeat the process when your gas goes down to quarter tank and the check engine light will disappear completely with an improved engine power
@@tractorgt it might. If the cat is too bad it will need to be replaced. Another good cleaner is lacquer thinner mixed with the gas. You want to fill your tank half way and then add one gallon of thinner.

Lacquer Thinner is trash! I used it on my 2015 Nissan Altima with 277,280 miles on it. I drove it on the highway directly after. At 171 miles into my drive, my car started hesitating and shuddering. It did that until I ran the rest of the trash out of my car. Smh

There is one thing you can do instead of spending thousand dollars on replacing catalytic converters and that is to take them out get yourself a tub big enough to fit the cats or cat in and mix in water to submerge catalytic converter and add either laundry detergent mild soap detergent or engine degreaser and let that baby sit overnight over as long as you can take out it should clean most if not all carbon deposits got this trick from Scotty Kilmer most people think that you can’t clean your catalytic converter and fix a PO420 code but isn’t it worth a try overspending Buku bucks on parts for no reason is a difference between parts swapper and diagnostic mechanic and your Evap code is more than likely An air Leak which you can do a smoke test or depending on what type of evap you can use an ohm Meter With power supply depending on your vehicle it should cause it to make a clicking noise or activate the solenoid within take it off and try blowing through it if you can blow through it you Have a bad evap A lot of the time people get new ones and forget to put silicone lubricant on Oring which causes premature failure or it could be charcoal canister/purge valve if it is that then when you fill up your tank at the gas station and you have gas fill up and try to come out the filler neck is also a sign that charcoal caster/purge valve is bad and is exactly what my truck was doing I really hope this helps somebody because even just a leak in the system can cause a false catalytic converter or PO420 code unfortunately I had a bad app evap which caused a PO 420 code and when I replaced It forgot to lube O-ring found out the hard way by the way got a misfire code and what came to find out was when I put Way too much atiseize on my spark plugs which got onto porcelain electrode part but when I put the right amount on new set of spark plugs fire went away permanently at first I thought it was because I was running E3 spark plugs which if you don’t run the right heat range can also cause this problem due to fixed gap as well so could’ve gotten a new set and that would’ve fixed the problem you can do it don’t give the satisfaction of these greedy mechanics trying to lie to you and make you spend tons of money on replacing parts/labor but if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself don’t feel bad and having a mechanic do it just make sure you let the right mechanic work on your vehicle and if they are they may educate you on these procedures to try yourself

Doing some research it looks like the Catalytic are bad but the weird things is not showing anything about catalytics on the codes. Is anyone had happened
when the pcm does the test for the cat it will tell the injectors to richen fuel for a time so you have hydrocarbons and co for the cat to burn, it looks for less oxygen on the rear sensor as compared to the front sensor, this proves that the cat is burning it
No, it was not a slip. A bad catalytic converter can definitely cause a random misfire due to it being clogged. When a catalytic converter is clogged it can cause gas to ignite in the engine leading to a misfire. Obviously not all misfires are due to a catalytic converter, but they can contribute to it if they are malfunctioning.

Have you used on cars where the catalytic is rattling or not ?
Rattling means something is loose or broken. The rattle can be a heat shield or broken hardware, I would check that out first. If it's not that then most likely the honey comb came apart or is just starting. It will not work for that at all.

One thing that most people are not really aware of...the Cat clogs up when your engine uses oil. Most
people on here regularly change their oil, but most do NOT change their PCV valve. If this valve fails,
your engine may well be sucking up oil into the intake. If you have to clean your Cat, change your PCV valve. It's Cheap, and it just might prevent it from doing it again.
I replaced my Purge Valve and I still get the O2 error code P4030.

Interesting. I’m a 2011 Hyundai accent original owner p2096 too lean detected on 2nd sensor but certain things I’ve never once changed such as pcv valve and fuel filter which I think should be changed
I also wanna try a bottle of cataclean even tho I’ve never gotten a cat code before, because my car is starting to go thru sone oil now and once there was a liquid coal substance out the exhaust on the ground when I reved it to max in the parking lot.

Update: Well 3 days and 500 miles later on this same trip, the last same problem code showed up. So, I'll be changing out the sensor in a few days.

You just saved me $1,300. This gray bottle cost me $26 well worth it. I hadn’t did this since I had the Kia soul. It wasn’t going over 45 mph. Now almost an hour later it goes 70 or more. Glad I went to TH-cam. Tks Phillips
Oh yeah!!!
He’s not wrong just this is a cheaper solution

This thing works like a miracle in cleaning my catalyic converter. It took two cans to clean my catalyic converter but I put a third can for certainty! I had to run my car for over 20 miles before the check engine light disappears. It's expensive though ($25.49 each). If i put it in before I refuel, my SUV runs like a sports car!
still cheaper than a cat
@@coolghoul9 True but I would think that eventually it will need be replaced.
Lol 😂😂😂 bro ur gonna blow your car up. Lol
Dude stop putting this crap in your suv.. Your kinda getting your car high lol.. That's
1999 Mustang GT, 38,317 origional miles…car was left to sit and rot since 2006, due to troubles I had , mice and rats are wires and vacume lines, and urinated in exhaust…(most likely urinated in Catalytic converters and 02 sensors ) i added a bottle of this yesturday , and it cleared every code I had …I cant believe it…also..I added one bottle to a full tank not 4 gallons..since my fuel guage does not work , so it would be hard for me to know when I had 4 gallons
And this still worked ..im going to add another bottle of this
Another important tip: Use ONLY Top Tier fuel! It keeps all parts of the engine clean.
Used it on my 2011 edge after the dealer told me i needed to replace the cat for $1200, the light went out the next day and never came back on.
I used Rislone cat cleaner and it seems to have worked, but, I drove the car about a 150 miles in one trip! Varying engine speeds it seems to have cleaned up and the Service Engine Soon light is off. I will run it again when I get close to my Smog time
I like to use this with a quarter tank and drive until the gas light comes on ,if u add to mix with a full tank it waters down the cleaner
Can you add two
I have a 2015 Kia Rio and I used CRC Valve and throttle body cleaner to clean the valves.
Itll be interesting to see if continous use will the result continue to show improvement.
It works great. And MANY others here agree🎉🎉
From what I understand that product is a lot more effective if used before there's an issue.
IT works sometimes, because some catalytic converters melt and nothing will work, except new cat or straight pipe.

this stuff does work well, it will raise exhaust temps way high, like 1200 degrees and burn all the carbon and deposits from your converter so the plates can contact the exhaust again, just do not do it on a turbocharged engine, it will cook the oil on the turbo shaft and lock it up
I always thought flashing service engine soon with engine running meant misfire
Had a P040 P030 codes on my 2013 Nissan Frontier VS V6 with 97,235 miles. I got the gas tank down to 1/4 tank put in Cataclean and drove it for about 40+ miles but didn’t do anything. Time to change the catalytic converters. My truck has two up front and two in the rear.

First off I would suggest using non-ethanol gas for a couple tanks (and permanently ;),

20 y/o Liberty , your catalitic converter is probably gone or funked up. Use good gas (non-ethanol) and see , it might help .
@@chrisperrien7055 vehicle only has 89K miles. It should last longer than that.
MSDS says it's mostly Xylene. I'm trying HEET Iso red for now. Xylene is $25 a gallon round these parts.
Iso Heet for $4 a bottle worked for me!
While I know what you did by looking up the MSDS. Using Xylene in a DYI app might void the car warranty and might well totally kill a car, THAT STUFF WILL EAT FUEL LINES/plastic gas tanks/etc. . Cataclean is listed as only 30-50% xylene per its MSDS
Now as far as HEET red, that is just 100% "Methanol" according to its MSDS😉. And is an anti-freeze for fuel lines. It is really not anything else. and it is not a catalytic converter or even a fuel injector cleaner. It is alcohol basically.
I think you are wasting money , unless you have gas line freezing issues. HEET won't do chit for anything else
For other fuel problems I suggest STP Gas Treatment/fuel injector cleaner . 😎
But this Catacean stuff , (though $25 a bottle ) works on many Cat.Conv. issues ,and won't void a warranty.
-----------------------------------------
Be careful with that Xylene stuff, it is toxic, soaks though skin, and highly flammable, it is one of the best paint removers/solvents there is, but I would not be pouring the stuff into a Car's gas tank for anything. Unless that gas tank was "antique" and metal and sitting on a bench and you are trying to remove some gunk on the inside
It would/will eat plastic/rubber fuel lines/gas tanks/etc. . It eats even car paint nicely.
I know Xylene😎, and IIRC. it is/was about $25 a quart 20 years ago. $25 ? a gal, today maybe in5gal cans for commercial purposes , IDK.
============================
IMO you're either trolling , or don't know anything , or ARE just trying to intentionally to mess up people's cars by suggesting using 100% Xylene in a car motor/gas tank for catalytic converter /fuel issues.
Works great second time using it and codes are clear and engine light is off
This is what worked for me after the dealer told me that my catalytic converter needs replacement with PO430 @2800.
1. Buy cataclean and seafoam with spray tube.
2. Remove the the first O2 sensor then spray the whole can of seafoam into the catalytic converter.
3. Pour in the Catclean in a quarter tank fulll of gas.
3. Rev the car @2000rpms for five minutes without driving it
4. Drive the car at highway speed for 15 mins, you will see the mpg improve tremendously.
4. Fill the tank with gas and drive normally.
5. Repeat the process when your gas goes down to quarter tank and the check engine light will disappear completely with an improved engine power
may work better if used before system gets clogged.....?
wonder if a second bottle would help more after running this test? All i need is the error to disappear so i can remote start the car again haha

I found lacquer thinner works well, but keep in mind if your catalytic converter is bad it will need to be replaced
Mentioned if, the Cat is Cleanable ? Is cleanable based on miles ?
N.Y.State car.2012- Chev.Sonic”12/1.4 Turbo. N.Y. Requires a C.A.R.B. Cat= $1,500.-$1,800.Cat !!! NOT A “E.P.A.-Cat.!” More Expensive Metal inside.
Have 169,735. MILES.
Total costs:$2,098. Thru $2,800.(w 2- Sensors).
Video was good 👍.
Informative, show gas in, mileage, product, more gas, sensor readings. Results.
Not sure 🤔… what to do ?
"Let's go ahead and get started...... HERES A CLOSE UP OF THE CONTAINER!"
Will this also clean the tip of your oxygen sensor? Thank you so much for your helpful video.
@@neilwilliams2193 yes, this should also clean the O2 sensors according to the manufacturer
Will this product remove the engine light?
It should, But not always
It didn't work for me
I put it one my 2008 town n country now drive way better.
1time no more problem run like new😊
I got the reducd engine power on my 15 equinox will this work
I don’t have any codes or check engine light, but I noticed my engine performance decreased and at times when I accelerate at a faster rate, it starts smelling like rotten eggs inside my vehicle. I have a 14 dodge charger pursuit 5.7 hemi. Someone I know who works on cars told me it sounds like your cat converter may be clogged and to get it cleaned if possible. So I’m going to try the cleaner in the next day or two.
Is it common to not have any diagnostic codes or lights on with a clogged converter? Either way, I don’t see the harm of trying the cleaner even if it isn’t a clogged converter.
Did you try it? Did the smell of eggs leave?
@@ShaqTheBoss I tried it and the smell did leave. It came back about 1,000 miles later or so. I actually just sold that car and bought a new one. I would say it works and the smell did leave.

Do you suggest I try this with P0304 code? Spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel injectors, MAF sensor cleaned, throttle cleaned ETC! 2009
V6 Ford escape? You mentioned P3000 TIA
No, a P0304 is specific to cylinder 4. Start with checking the spark plugs and wires on cylinder 4.
@@PhillipsVisiondont you mean cylinder 4?🤨
@@mikesabin8568 yes
@@PhillipsVisionSI ?
What if I'm getting misfires as well?
I read on another video, cataclean is nothing more than lacquer thinner.
Scotty Kilmer suggests using lacquer thinner.
That is pretty much the truth.
